Who doesn't like a little TA anyway. I have so many memories of this place. My first serious long-term girlfriend lives just down the road and when I used to come into town I used to come here often. I would often take the Greyhound Bus into Montgomery and it lets out just next door. And of course there's nothing at the station so me and the rest of the Travelers would Wander over here to get whatever we needed before catching the bus or cab off to wherever. These memories seem like they were from another lifetime. These days an armed security guard is guarding this place. Things have changed a little bit. Doesn't seem as friendly as it used to. The whole country is getting paranoid and with an itchy trigger finger. Hopefully things will start getting better soon but there is not much evidence for optimism. Basics: 24 hours, has bathrooms, restaurant and other trucker services. Pros: location, I guess. The employees were decent. Cons: Yikes. The parking lot is not well lit and feels sketchy. The entire place is dingy. The bathroom has 3 stalls, one of them handicap. The stall doors literally hit the toilet barely making the toilet accessible. While I was there a literal crime was in progress. A man had another man laid face down on the ground threatening to "pop" him if he dared moved. Cops were called...scary mess. I do not fault TA for that but felt it relevant to the review. The store offers very little in snack or food. Almost all "souvenirs" were oddly religious and just lame. I know that seems like a petty observation but I like to collect magnets and could find anything cool or interesting to represent Alabama etc. read more

Very small, nothing to work with. Very little parking. Restaurant has little to offer. No milk, except in guarts. No hot food, no deli. Products in front of products. Very little to offer in general. Staff not real enthusiastic either. read more

8x11 sign on door saying mayor has mandated mandatory mask use - yet more then half of the customers are coming in without masks - when I asked the cashier who is like me and mine wearing a mask why they don't kick these people out - she said the manager told her they are not allowed to say anything !! That's insane it's for her safety and other employees safety, manager isn't working the cash register or cleaning the bathrooms ! Great old timey diner interior. Staff members were so nice and friendly. Food was not very good; it felt like reheated frozen dinners. I didnt like it at all. Kind of pricy for what it was. read more

Honestly, I was fine with this one. Yeah, there aren't many pumps and the bathroom stalls are hilariously small (as in, no need to check under the door for feet, because mine are poking out), but it worked extremely well for us driving between St. Louis and Florida. You need a good place to stop once you get out of rural Alabama and before moving on to the next leg of the trip. Sure, I wouldn't stick around and explore, but it met our needs. read more

Avoid at all cost. Out of all of the TA centers I've been to this has to be the worst. The upstairs is catered to men with no women bathroom on the floor. It reeked of testosterone. Staff was rude and moody. Bathroom was nasty. I'll hold off using the restroom till the next exit. read more

My husband, my daughter and i went into Country Pride for breakfast. I will never go there again. In five minutes of being there i saw a hand full of cockroaches. I told the waitress and she asked if we were going to tell anyone. I told her to tell management and she said they were in every week i told her that was not the point. So she basicly brushed us off. One of the worst T/As out there, very busy and not a lot of room. No hot food other than country pride.

I've been at another TA that was small just like this one. The same or very similar floor plan. Doesn't have a drivers lounge nor does the store offer any hot deli foods. I had decent service in the restaurant. Nothing unusual about the restaurant. Not wanting to make a mad dash across the road I didn't try any of them. read more
