I know a lot of other people had problems with their service providers and salespeople pushing them to get a more expensive phone, but I had a good experience at this Phones 4U. I'm not a massive fan of staff that "exaggerate" to manipulate customers into a better sale either.....I wonder what their commission structure is based on??? This place scores very high on my "I wouldn't piss on it to put out a fire scale". Carphone Warehouse bosses take note if you read this and plan a few anonymous visits or mystery shoppers. The staff inside the store were helpful, it is pretty much a regular Three store. There were some good deals being advertised for pay monthly contracts, even though I do prefer EE's mobile coverage, I do think Three have a great store network. A small selection of merchandise was on offer, I liked the distance between the desks/chairs, meaning you have more privacy when signing up for a contract, without feeling like you're giving away your personal details to the entire store. 4*

I knew I would be spending yet another long and frustrating day at Heathrow airport waiting out Sno-mageddon 2010, so rather than watch as the TV reporters continued to talk about the hell I was simultaneously experiencing, I figured I might as well accomplish a bit of work, which requires the internets. Here's how it went this time: Laura: Hi. I (gulp) need to top up my dongle. Store Man: No problem, that's easy! (Begins transaction) But have you seen our new Pay & Go Mi-Fi? It's actually cheaper than a dongle and up to 5 devices can connect at a time, so if you're traveling or meeting with co-workers you can... Laura: (temporarily stunned by great service and helpful advice momentarily zoned out...) Store Man: ...But I'm happy to just top up your dongle... instead... ? Laura: Um, you have been so helpful. Store Man: Thank you? Laura: I'll take it. You take AMEX, right? Store man: Oh, I am so sorry, we stopped taking AMEX just over a month ago. But, (he whispers), I'll give it a try - I think it will still work. It worked. And the Mi-Fi? It's working beautifully at LHR as I'm waiting out Sno-mageddon 2010. In one more hour it will have paid for itself in hot-spot internet charges.
