My parents have had this service for over 7 years. My mother is paying $54 a month for only local…read morephone service (land line); no long distance no caller id... More recently I found that I could add her land line service to my own account for $15 a month under Consumer Cellular. Consumer Cellular sent me a port which you plug into the phone making it a cellular phone. the night mare began when they tried to transfer over mom's number from NT&T to Consumer Cellular. They will not except the information that is been on the bill like Moms Name, Address and Account Number. This is odd to me since they have accepted mom's monthly check for 7 years with this same information on it. We have still been trying to transfer that number over for 3 weeks, calling NT&T over and over again and resubmitting transfer requests. We looked back on an old bill and found my late fathers name so they excepted that. They resubmitted the address that my parents have had for 65 years and they finally accepted that. Now they will not accept the account number that is on the billing statement or the phone number. My elderly mother has not had a working number all this time.
