I was having a really terrible day so far. Our train from Warnemunde ran seriously late and we…read moremissed our connection to Schwerin. That left us with an hour and 45 minute wait at Rostock. This was over lunchtime, so I ended up getting a doner classic from donerbitz. The very first doner I ever ate was in Germany, so it felt like a bit of returning to the source of it all. I had hoped it'd be good, but I didn't expect it to be one of the best kebabs I've ever eaten. Heck, it might well have been the best once you took into account the quality way the pitta was prepared. Spicing was different, but I often find that in different countries. I think I preferred it to the spicing we get back in London. Sauces were great, although I have no idea what the third one was. Cheap too at only 4 Euros. Excellent lunch, and now I'm in a hugely better mood for the rest of our trip out today!

I…read morestayed at an AirBnB apartment near by and needed to get some dinner before checking in that night. Thankfully it was open until 8 pm. I ordered a döner with knoblauch (garlic) sauce. They made it quickly and had a ledge for diners eating in. Unfortunately, my eating experience consisted of rescuing meat and onion bits from the flood of garlic sauce. I had to leave a good amount of my food on the place because it was such a mess :( Although I didn't take advantage of it, you could by Rostocker beer to go. They also have pizza to go.
