Soooo good! The staff here is so sweet and go out of their way to accommodate. They are very quick in the kitchen and don't leave you waiting at all. The lunch specials are fabulous! The sushi is good also, not the best sushi place but 4/5. The house sauces are so good the fried green beans are a must. The salads here also delicious. It's hard to not order too much! I have been a patron of this five-star restaurant for over 8 years and have always been treated with respect, professionalism, and kindness-- by all staff members and both of the owners. NEVER has there ever been a discriminatory act delivered by the staff-- as Katy T. seemed to believe! I know this because I happen to be of African descent (Black). 4 stars only because it's Szechuan and not hot unless you tell them extra spicy. It's suppose to be spicy to begin with. Food is very goo though probably the best around. The shrimp toast is an absolute must. We've had different varieties of sushi several times and have never been disappointed. I ordered the beef and scallop combo, which was labeled "mildly spicy" let me tell ya, either I am the weakest person ever for spices, or they drowned it in that sauce. So why the 5 star review you ask? I've literally tried everything and never been disappointed and I distinctly remember Tim from an early age giving me pop sodas and green ice cream in little cups. Who knew you could have such amazing sushi so far away from a major metro area! We've been eating at the pizza place next door for a while now and on a whim decided to give the sushi a try. We were extremely satisfied and would definitely rank their food as one of the best. Had several different sushi roll varieties and all of them were excellent. Huge portions! For the price of the food, I am not a fan. I have ordered from here twice where I have tried both the General Tso's and the Sesame Chicken. Both times, the chickens have been very dry in the center, which may be due to lack of freshness. And the wonton soup I ordered was interesting...i expected beef wontons to be wrapped. What I got were shreds of the roasted pork and noodles. However, for a restaurant in the area of Pasadena, MD, this place is pretty decent. I was so excited to try this because I'm new to town but this was not what it was cracked up to be. The Szechuan chicken combo only had 3 pieces of chicken and is swimming in sauce. The rice tasted old and the egg rolls had shrimp in it. They should probably advertise that since a lot of people have shrimp allergies .. Like me. Excellent food! The sushi is fantastic, and the food is great! Unfortunately the check out process with a group is a struggle to say the least. We had 6 people, and we were told "We don't itemize. You need to tell us how much each of you are paying. " really? You have a calculator. I don't want to figure out how much I need to pay, since that's part of the job of a cashier. Szechuan Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants. Every dish we have had has been flavorful. I rate Chinese restaurants by th Wonton Soup and theirs is some of the best I have ever had. It may seem strange but the Sushi ranks with the best I ever ate. We will often go just for the Sushi. I took a guest from Austin who is connoisseur of Sushi when she visited in August. She was very skeptical about Sushi at a Chinese restaurant. She left saying it was some of the best she had ever eaten. The owner and the wait staff are always personable and treat you like family. When I'm in Baltimore, Szechuan Cafe is my go-to for authentic Asian cuisine. They are friendly, the food is fresh and, frankly, the best you can get in the area. The reasons I do not give them 5-stars is because they are closed on Monday AND you cannot order a gift certificate for any amount under $25. Every time I have guests to take over, or I'm hungry for their amazing Cashew Chicken, it's on a Monday. Who wants to cook on Monday night? And, a $25 per certificate minimum is a bit much for if you're adding it to a larger gift or trying to give to employees or a team. Decent chinese food seems to be very hard to get in Maryland. Szechuan Cafe is a rare exception. The owner and staff are very friendly. You can tell by the way customers (seemingly regulars) are greeted. Genuine smiles around the room. And the food is good. We will drive almost 30 minutes to eat here or even do take out. It can be a little crowded on weekends but not enough to cause a wait. read more

I walked in to the restaurant at 5pm and requested to see a take out menu. I was carrying my sleeping daughter in my arms at the time so I sat on the waiting bench and began to browse the menu. I decided what I wanted in 5 minutes and waited at the counter with my sleeping toddler in my arms for literally 15 minutes before anyone standing at the counter decided to ask me if I was ready to order. The lady at the counter had even serviced another customer that walked in while I stood at the counter. When I finally was finally making my order, the lady at the counter seemed flustered and rude and generally mean. I'm not sure if I had offended her by bringing my kid in to the restaurant or for making an order at the take out counter instead of over the phone. Either way, she was just plain mean. The order was placed. Some of the food was a little over priced. You get 6 tiny pieces of shrimp shumai and pay $6. Some of the food was fair priced- a dinner entree included an egg roll and side of rice. And that was priced around $10. While I was waiting, I asked the lady at the counter if I could use the bathroom. She looked at me dismissively and completely ignored my question. I still brought my two year old to the bathroom. I came back and waited 15 more minutes until the same rude lady harshly said "you're food is ready" and plopped my takeout bags on the counter. She didn't check the bags or review my order. She just pointed to the bags and kind of shooed me out the door. When I got home and looked at the food I had ordered, they had forgotten one of my appetizer orders that they charged me $6 for. The food quality was decent. Other than the egg rolls.. For some strange reason, they put celery chunks in them. The sushi was better than any other sushi I have in Pasadena. Overall, if you're going to eat here- make sure you order take out over the phone in order to avoid the rude staff and when you come to pick up your order, double check to make sure they give you all of the food that you've paid for. read more

5 stars from the moment we walked in the door! Excellent food from the Pink Lady Roll, Dynamite Roll, Shrimp egg rolls, Hunan Shrimp, black pepper steak and shrimp, to the dessert! They treated us just like family, literally. Treated our eight year old daughter like a little princess. Christmas music, great quant atmosphere, lit up with Christmas lights. you'd think by the name this is a Chinese restaurant, and they do have Chinese food, but we come to eat sushi. The scallop rolls are super delicious, so be sure to get those. Everything else is good to great. The staff is all Chinese but who expects to find japanese waiters in Glen Bunie? The food is always amazing and they will make just about anything you might want that isn't on the menu.
