It reminded me that someone remembered that I was a mother who lost her baby--not just another patient or another case. Sometimes the smallest acts of compassion mean everything. They were caring, helpful and treated my family with respect and gave us welcome advise when we needed it. From start to finish, they patiently walked us through the process and helped us make the best choice for our family even arranging for a special viewing for the grandchildren to say goodbye to their beloved Papa . My mom did not want to split up my five siblings and wanted us all with her so they arranged for a stretch limo. The cemetery had issues with the actual grave site and they help navigate so that my mother and siblings were satisfied, we had a grave side service and they arranged for chairs for all of the older attendees and a tent. They even assisted with live streaming so that out of town guests could join us. My oldest brother had many many demands and required some extra attention and somehow Rose on the Schugar team was his personal aid and made him feel heard and got him what he needed quickly. We had one day to pull together a service, arrangements and shivas and they helped to get it all done. Thank you for helping us while we were at wits end during one of the worst times in our lives. Clearly by far it is the best. They offer funeral packages, graveside packages, or you can make up your own. The chapel is an adequate size for the ceremony. Judaism dictates no open viewing but rather 1 hour visitation before the service. Casket remains closed. Off to the side of the chapel is the mourner's room where family and friends may pay their respects to the deceased' next of kin during that visitation period. They provide you with information on how to find the various cemeteries and give you a small book of prayers, and a listing of the yearly Yahrzeits (Hebrew anniversary of date of passing) for the deceased. Their phone answers 24 hours round the clock so there is always someone available. They provide excellent service and compassion and understanding to the one in need. Another service they offer is a prearrangement which I lean towards. Often times in a period of loss a person is under much duress and as a result has a tendency to overspend. You can arrange an apt with a member of their staff and declare your intentions for your next of kin or for yourself. Around the time of the Jewish High Holidays in the fall they give out complimentary Jewish calendars. I have utilized their services in the past and have been here on a number of occasions. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends have used them as well. When my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Both Rosie and Nick were there to help with planning. My parents, siblings and I went down to pre plan for my mother's passing. A few months later my dad was in a fatal accident at work. Just six weeks later my mother lost her battle with cancer. It was the most difficult and stressful time of my life. Thankfully, Nick and Rosie were there to guide and comfort my family. They were so attentive to all of our needs and wishes for my parents funerals. Anytime I had a question or concern, all I had to do was call. Several times I had to leave messages with the answering service. But I would receive a return call from Nick or Rosie soon after. My parents funerals went so smoothly and were very nice. Nick, Rosie and the entire staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and that we were treated with compassionate care. They provided such personalized service and are always attentive to the needs of the family. I don't know how we would have made it through that difficult time without Nick, Rosie and the rest of the Alfieri Funeral Home Staff. Thank You!! Also, the funeral home is beautifully decorated, always clean and neat. The windows don't have the thick have drapes you usually find in funeral homes. They have curtains that allow natural light to come in. Sounds like a small detail. But it makes the rooms seem more open and relaxed. The rooms are very spacious and don't feel cramped and stuffy.

Who does this when a funeral is going on?! There were no beverages offered, he had a water fountain with no cups. Ran out of tissues (again...funeral...crying!) He ran out of the funeral cards multiple times. The air conditioning was so old and loud you could not even hear the minister doing the service. I have never felt so alone and scared I am crushed from losing my husband of 56 years. And this person treated me so bad. Now after it was paid on that Wednesday I never got his ashes until Monday. When I had to call and ask for them. I know there had to be a more caring way to tell me what she did. I thought a place owned by woman would be a little bit more compassionate. So if you don't have insurance don't send your loved one there. All they care about is the money well at least that's all Danelle cared about. Once she got the money she tried to be nice to late she took a horrible loss and made it even worse. She made me feel like I just wanted to be gone, I thought I was having a heart attack from crying so hard after the way she talked to me. He's home now I will never recommend this place.
