Everyone was very open and welcoming. The next morning, after services (pretty standard Orthodox German traditions, I think), they had a small kiddush, herring-and-vodka style, and then some of the people from the night before stayed on to do a bit of Torah study together. All in all, highly recommended, and I'll definitely come back on my next visit to Berlin.
