DO NOT STAY HERE! Leaving this review so that anybody who's…read moreconsidering renting at this property will go elsewhere. The year I spent in Yurong House was the worst of my life. The windows and ceiling in my room would leak water on my bed and on me whenever it rained. This made my life absolutely miserable, especially because it rained constantly that year, and when I contacted maintenance about it they said there was nothing they could do. On top of this, many of the residents here are dangerous characters. There were multiple police raids occurring in the building over the course of my stay, and every night there was screaming/arguing coming from other rooms. The prices and constant rent increases are absolutely ridiculous for what you get- the rooms are tiny and the shared kitchen doesn't even have working stovetops. I was also refused my bond back at the end of my lease because of there being scribbles on the fridge which had been there BEFORE I moved in. They deducted $300 from my bond just to remove marker on a fridge... also, the fridges included in your room are USELESS because the tiny freezer in there turns the whole fridge into a freezer. I couldn't keep milk or anything in there unless I wanted it to be turned to ice. I'm sure there are even more issues which I'm forgetting... including the property not having a lift, so if you live on the fourth floor, good luck carrying parcels/groceries/suitcases up and down to your room. Absolutely abysmal property and it should be illegal for them to advertise it as student accomodation when the living circumstances and other residents are so dodgy.

It's within walking distance of the botanic gardens, Elizabeth Bay, Potts Point, and if you're really keen (I was) you can even walk a bit farther to downtown, Circular Quay, the Opera House, and Sydney Harbour Bridge. We became very familiar with the couple that worked here. They were so friendly and every morning they always wanted to make sure everything was perfect, which it was. The breakfasts that they put out were scrumptious! Choices of cereal, tea, coffee, toppings for your cereal, english muffins, cheese, ham, fruit... Wonderful! The rooms are spacious and a bit old looking, but everything seemed to be working well. There is also a living room that has books and comfy couches, and complimentary PORT! I may have taken advantage of that. I'm getting nostalgic thinking about this place and if I'm ever in Sydney and have the money I'd want to stay here! It's really a wonderful place with wonderful people.
