Cute, quaint, quirky, cosy and homely little bookstore-come-cafe (:…read more It's average opening hours are 11-6 during which time you can grab a slice of cake, tea, coffee etc, have a peruse through some books, and chill on their big comfy sofa! I find a lot of coffee places just don't really want you stay and they have hard, uncomfy furniture to reflect that. But not here! This place often has events that extend its opening hours, too. My favourite is the 'big comfy folk club' which are folk and acoustic sessions hosted on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. Next one is on 4th March and tickets are only a fiver! Brilliant intimate venue, and the performers usually stick around for a while afterwards which is nice (: OH ALSO, WINE! The big comfy book shop serves alcohol! Live music + book shop + cake + red wine = total winner. See you on the 4th!
I really like The Big Comfy Bookshop!…read more It is a quant used book shop that is family owned. The owner spent over a year compiling books to open his shop, and ever since has kept a good variety of books that are unique to customers, or a popular search result of a used book. There is always fresh coffee, tea options, beer and wine, and some sort of snacks like crisps or cake for sale. Seating is available to hang out with friends for a little while or to start tucking into your future purchase. Also I noticed that live folk music nights and game nights regularly occur here too! Great place!

It ain't. Once inside you realise that you are in a Manga fan's dream world. This shop are big on Japan. Graphic novels feature big. If you are a budding artist yourself they stock Copic Ciao pens, which are entry-level quality shading markers with a chisel and a bullet tip. While we're on artists supplies they have a large Moleskine range too. Prints and paintings are also on offer. The shop is owned by artist Al Davison (look him up, he's certainly lived a life), and stocks many of his works and publications. This place oozes authentic small town USA indie book store charm.

Upstairs the store sells dvds, games , music cd's and loads of books and stationary. A good sized store with lots of tuff crammed in. Also has some cards for many occassions. Cant really say much else as everyone knows the store be it in coventry or anywhere else. But the store could do with a facelift to freshen it up as it has been in its current state for a long long time.

Supercigs is one of those really special little shops for really good value…read more Supercigs is just before you go down to the city arcade, red fronted shop with a white sign. Yhe shop is very narrow but very long too. Magazines are lined up and the left hand side taking over much of the entire wall, from floor to ceiling. These consist of magazines be it hair or gaming ones to fhm etc etc. They also have newspapers too as do all newsagents papershops. On the right hand sisde of the shop you find lots of sweets, these are usually bagged up and are great value for money. The shop also sells drinks to, these are also at a great price. Definately one not to miss. The till is at the back of the shop with friendly helpful staff, always seemingly happy. This is the only one in coventry unless the one in bell green, riley square still exsists which is a shame as this shop does a roaring trade due to their great prices.

Pretty good gaming store, can be towards the more expensive side but have good selection of…read morereasonably priced second hand games. They sell games for every console and including PC. They no longer have any games for retro gaming which can be a shame. Its a very small shop for one that has so much custom. It gets very busy especially toward christmas. They also sell blu rays and umd's for the psp. A good shop to buy great games

This store in the middle of the city centre is the biggest out of the two here. It has multiple titles for all platforms. Prices are usually competitive, but could be found cheaper occasionally by a few ££ if you search the web. But it means waiting for it to be delivered. You can also buy UMD movies and a small amount of Blue ray Dvds too. The staff are usually quite helpful, b ut you get much better customer service from the game store at the ricoh arena shopping park. They have a second hand section with titles from all platforms, which is a great thing. But some of the prices are only £2-£4 cheaper than the game brand new. I thought the point of selling second hand games was to make them cheaper?? Correct me if im wrong. A few of moans i will give about the game franchise is the fact they no longer have the following : 1) 28 days refund policy. Where by you would buy a game, eagerly get home to play it and find out how crap it was. You could then take it back for a full refund or buy another game. This policy has been removed, which is a shame. 2) The old school games section. No longer do they sell games for retired games machines such as the SNES, Megadrive, Game gear. To buy these you have to go elsewhere, or search the internet. 3) The shop seems crowded, with little room to move between stands and people! But there are worse, a lot worse (gamestation-far to clostraphobic!) So there you have it, my review of the Game in the middle of the city centre. Game recievs only 3 stars due to the poor 2nd hand pricing structure, which is either stupid or very clever as some people would prefer to spend an extra couple of ££s to have a game new. They get more money out of us!!! And no longer having the cool 28 day refund policy.
