Recently opened (was this Run For Your Life, before?), Swoozies is the place to go for wedding invitations, odd gifts and holiday decorations. With only a week before Christmas, they had a ton of such things available including cocktail napkins, stationery, really nice wrapping paper, cups and glasses. And not just for Christmas - there were tons of other things for just regular birthdays! This is a great store in Charlotte. I was a frequent shopper when it originally opened in Blakeney many, many years ago and sad to see it close but thrilled it came back to Charlotte. During my recent visit, the young sales associates could have cared less about waiting on me much less selling anything. Here are my top picks and suggestions: Hostess gifts - The Voluspa candles are to die for. I have five of them in various places in my home, and I'm always burning one of them. So, make sure you get one for yourself when you buy some for gifts. Other Voluspa stuff like bath salts are yay!* Stocking stuffers - Clever napkins, cute notecard sets and small dishes for jewelry Friend gifts (or treat yo' self) - Love the jewelry, I have several necklaces from here now. Cute makeup bags that they can monogram. Local flair serving ware. I use my festive "yay!" wine glasses every chance I get! Wedding - All. Your. Stationery. Holiday - You need holiday things? I had a unique situation (my mom drew a map of the city where our wedding was), and Kaily made the entire process SO EASY. She recommended a high-quality scanning vendor, and then suggested design elements and colors that paired perfectly with the map. It was also super cost effective, considering the convenience and assurance that only comes with designing your invitations in person (prior to visiting Swoozie's I considered ordering online but those would have been equal, if not more expensive, without the graphic design support & expertise). I remember Swoozies from my days in Raleigh back in 2008 and was so happy to hear that it was coming back! My first time, I was headed for Chinese at nearby Baoding and just wandered upon the place. Luckily for me, they had one of the monogram-door decoration-wreath thingys that was on someone's Christmas list. I took a cursory look around, but didn't want my boyfriend to hate me, and headed to get Chinese. I stopped back on a HomeGoods trip - sans boyfriend this time - and looked around a bit more. This is definitely the place to get fun paper goods when you're having a fun, fancy party. They have a good amount of gifts, and unique items, but doesn't rank up with Paper Skyscraper quite yet. i like this store for clever Christmas gifts and monogram presents. I also enjoyed their collection of wedding themed items for my wedding this summer. I bought their Mr. & Mrs. wine glasses for my hubby and I. One of them broke right after I purchased it and they replaced it, so customer service is good too. I wait for their discounts because some of it is pricey. They have cute monogram presents like keychains, corkcicle products and stationary. I also love the NC themed presents like the dish towels and cutting boards. My favorite present is the old barn wood frame I bought there with a NC outline. Gorgeous!! Parking is tight but I walk over from nearby lots. They also have the Voluspa candles I love!! You do have to get the attention of the workers sometimes, it depends on the day. I have no problem asking for help and some days I have been here and they have been wonderfully attentive. I am officially a fan of Swoozie's!!! I stopped by in search of a last minute (week of) Christmas Gift for my 2 best friends. When I walked in I was greeted by 2 friendly associates. As I searched around, I fell in love with this store. Soooo many creative novelties and gifts. I finally spotted wine glasses with quotes on them. I asked if they could customize these and they said yes, so I grabbed 3 and sat down with an associate to discuss the design. She was very helpful to an indecisive libra like myself! lol! We discussed my budget and my ideas, and she helped me with even better ideas within my budget. In the end my glasses came out super cute and were ready within 3 days for a very reasonable price. If you want to buy a jaw dropping personalized treat for yourself or a girlfriend, SWOOZIES, is the place to stop first. This is one of my favorite places to celebrate important ladies in my life to monogramed décor. I was able to find some amazing giveaways for an upcoming CHARLOTTE trade show(had to mix and match because of sold out inventory - STAFF was pretty helpful at suggestions ). The good news is they will shock you with exciting little things, the other good news is that the store is tiny and can be overwhelming(bring a friend or a coin to help you narrow down your choices). Was in today after shopping at Home Goods and loved the summer floats and wedding decor as my sister is getting married in the fall. Sadly I wouldn't have spent and dime nor would I suggest this place to anyone because there were three ladies working and not one even said hello or are you finding what you are looking for. I love this store. There are tons of great party gifts, stationary, and even tailgating items. You can get things personalized. Some things are cheaply made (that cost $20 a cup) and some are great. I'd probably give this store 5 stars if I didn't have to wait behind a woman special requesting everything and getting things gift wrapped. Another girl was working at a computer. I think someone should just be helping customers pay and someone else filling out personalizations so the line isn't held up. Some of us don't have all day to shop. read more

The worst customer service. I have to ask them how their day is going. And even then it's a one word answer. I didn't even know they were having a sale until a customer told me. Defiantly not spending my money here. Also I asked someone who works there if they had a certain product and she said no.... I found multiple versions of what I was looking for. I don't get it.
