The captain and crew of Swoop ll was very helpful with my family on our trip.Randy and crew was very patience with my novice fishergirls has they got tangled up lines. They also showed pointers as to fish. Definitely will come back on our next vacation.

I have been fishing with this crew now over three times and this one had to be the worst one. We arrived about 45 min early and left late (around 7:20am) on the boat. There was two bigger parties on the boat, party of 11 and 9. Be prepared to ride about 1hr 30min on the boat to the first fishing spot. The first spot was spent maybe 20 min at because dolphins were eating all of the bait. We left and rode about 30 more minutes to a different spot and the dolphins still followed. Fished for maybe 20min again and no one caught anything. Then we left a spot AGAIN and rode for about 40 min to get to another spot and fished for about 40min and we were catching fish finally but ran out of time. We were just extremely disappointed in the lack of fishing that we got to do. Also, quick note, if you do not have a big party, you will not get treated the same. Bigger parties get different bait and better chum. Also left to fend for yourself if you get tied up. What really made us mad was the fact that we asked for more fish heads and Mark said no we don't have anymore. Okay, fine, then maybe 20minutes before the last horn rang for us to go home, Jeff came by and brought more fish heads. You're just not treated the same if you are not a party because bigger parties leave bigger tips. You can drink alcohol on the boat, but don't expect to smoke just anywhere, you have to go up top on the boat. However the crew will smoke anywhere, but no one else can which is odd. You will be told several times to leave tips, which I completely get, but I expect service to receive a tip and we received no service on our trip. Also, for COVID-19, please don't expect social distancing inside or outside the boat. No hand sanitizer or wipes available. Remember to bring snacks and Dramamine to calm the motion sickness and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You do not get any rags or paper towels to wipe your hands, which makes the reel extremely hard to hold when it's slippery. We caught about 5 fish together and nothing large for the entire boat. Not bad, but was just more disappointed in the fact that we barely had maybe an hour total of fishing for a 6 hour trip.

All of the catch from the boat.

We had a great time on the shorter 5 hour deep sea fishing trip. We reeled in 7 but only got to keep 3 due to sizes. The crew were really helpful running all over the boat to help you out. They will also clean your catch for you. Bring cash to top these guys work really hard. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely go again with them.

We had a great time! The captain was awesome! Let my son ride up there with him on the way back in... Captain also put us on fish so what more could you ask for! Mack was down with us and he was awesome as well! Great people on this boat!! Will definitely come back!

These guys are awesome. We went out about 20 miles to a limestone shelf 200ft deep. 1.5 hour ride. Captain put us right on the fish. Caught a laundry basket full (4 of us). Went to 2nd location and it was slower. Mates and captain very helpful. Pro tip- give a mate tip early and he will give you the big rod for big game. Note this is a fishing boat not a yacht. Old school fishing. Great deal for $$. Photos below show how many fillets you go home with.

Went fishing on The Swoop and had a blast. All of the guys on the boat were helpful and really cool. Tried to catch a shark but ended up catching a grouper! The crew was a lot of help and the Captain made sure we were in spots to catch a lot of fish! Can't wait to go back and get that shark that I didn't catch!!!

We all only caught a fish or two. We had a difficult day find them. Fisherman on board seem knowledgeable and friendly. Wish we picked better locations to fish. Seemed very hit or miss and this was a big swing and miss. Had fun though.

We had an awesome trip. The boat slayed the fish that day. We had about 38 people on the boat including crew and caught about 350 keepers. Threw back that many more. The captain and crew were amazing.

I must say, I am completely baffled on how Boat Charter Destin has such a high rating as our family…read morevacation experience was a complete disappointment and a waste of our hard earned money. I am not one to post negative reviews, however this experience warrants it. I will add that I e-mailed the charter in an effort to address our experience and they have opted to not respond so I am happy to share our negative experience publicly. Funny how they respond quickly when you are booking a trip, but fail to respond if there is an issue to be addressed post trip. Our trip was scheduled to depart at 7am, however the boat was not prepared for departure and we did not get under way until 7:52am. Our Captain (Jeff) did not have the boat fueled, he did not have ice, nor bait ready for our trip. While "fueling" the boat, he managed to fill the fresh water tank reservoir with gasoline, requiring the marina to subsequently pump the gasoline out before we could depart. Obviously this did not instill confidence as to the captains boating capabilities or familiarity with the boat. Since we opted to place our personal possessions into the china toilet cabinet, all of our personal belongings ended up reeking of fuel vapors. After preparing the boat for our "fishing" trip, Jeff had to make yet an additional detour to obtain ice and bait for the trip. I will add he only obtained 20 bait fish for the entire trip. Knowing the complexity of the ocean and the likelihood that one will go through a lot of bait while trying to catch fish, why would you only get 20 baitfish and then put several of the baitfish on the hook in whole instead of preparing cut bait??? Being an avid fisherman, it is important to match bait size to hook size. If the fish are stealing the bait, put smaller pieces of the bait on the circle hooks so they can't just rip it off and they have to actually take the bait....or switch to J hooks. Now that we have finally spent an hour and a half of our morning anxiously awaiting for Jeff to have the boat ready for the fishing trip, we finally get under way. After getting to our first fishing spot, Jeff informed us we would be using three rods for our four person fishing trip until he got us on some fish.....which never happened. Since the captain invested in cheap fishing gear, there was an issue with one of the reels while attempting to land a fish and we only "fished" with three rods for the remainder of the trip. Should have been more prepared for this I would think. Without exaggeration, we literally had our lines wet and in the water for less than 30 minutes for the entire five hour "fishing" trip. In full disclosure, there were dolphins following the boat and made fishing a bit more difficult. Jeff would put us on a spot and we would drop our lines a couple times and we would again move to a new location which could take an extensive amount of time. We literally fished 4 spots the entire trip and I am not exaggerating when I say we only had our lines in the water for 30 minutes total. This is unacceptable! I hope anyone who takes the time to read our review will not have the same negative experience we did. Since we reside in Texas, we based our decision to use this charter after reading the posted reviews. We now realize our experience did not mimic that of others. You would think the charter would want to address our experience, but it seems they got their money and they are moving on to the next. I wish future customers the best!

People walked by with all their catches and everything. We each paid the $2 to walk anyway, and the entire pier is lined with people fishing! We did go during Memorial Day weekend, so I understand this is a busier time, but wow. It made for a smelly walk. Only the area near the shore had space for taking photos, so we were off the pier in like 10 minutes. Going for the sunset seemed great until actually being there, but we did learn from the signs on the pier that they would have a firework show, which we came back for. The firework show was about 5-ish minutes long, but it was great! They go all out at the end, so there's a lot of fireworks going off.

I highly recommend taking a walk. The salty air is super refreshing, and the wind makes it a very pleasant experience. Also, the scenic views are amazing. I have been to the pier several times, and I really enjoyed seeing the different wild life. I have seen jellyfish, herons and even sea turtles. I have never fished there, but I have seen people catch fish. I also have heard the best seasons to catch fish are spring and summer.
