I have mixed feelings about this place. James is an excellent instructor, first of all. The best we've had there. He has taught my kid faster and better than anybody else in 4 years. The pools often smell of heavy chlorine and mildew but I have no idea how often the water is changed. They ask you to wear dirty, hairy, holey shoe covers in the swim area. I have no problem wearing shoe covers but these are pretty disgusting to touch. I understand the owners are trying to cut corners but they really shouldn't make it so obvious to the public. There are three WiFi signals for SwimLabs but the public is no longer allowed a guest WiFi. We are no longer allowed to make up classes anymore, which was a big factor in choosing them. It seems to be tightening up and a lot less fun. Finally, my husband witnessed a grown woman helping her son get dressed in the men's locker room instead of the shared bathroom. When he mentioned it to the desk staff, they said ok but didn't do anything about it. The staff seems to be very careful not to offend customers but the owner is cutting corners everywhere they can. read more

We loved our instructor. However, the company as a whole is a bunch of crooks. They double charged us and then blamed us for the system failing us. There is not an actual human to speak to. Before signing up with SwimQwik, I strongly recommend reading through ALL of the 1-3 star reviews and taking them very seriously. I wish I had. There is a pattern in those reviews of families describing concerns about billing, unexpected charges, refunds, and credits. I can't speak to anyone else's experience, but after our own experience, I wish I had paid much closer attention to them before enrolling our three children. We had some wonderful instructors, but our experience with management and billing ultimately outweighed the positive. At the end of our membership, SwimQwik canceled one of our remaining lessons because the instructor called in sick. It was the second to last day of the month. So, when we asked to use that prepaid lesson in the next month, we were told we could only carry it forward if we signed up for another three-month membership. To be clear: SwimQwik canceled the lesson, we had already paid for it, and the only option we were given to use that credit later required purchasing another membership. We chose to lose the lesson and walk away instead. I was also concerned about billing. After reading other reviews about unexpected charges, I changed the card on our account to one we no longer use. A few days later, my credit card company notified me that SwimQwik had attempted to charge our card without our permission. Thankfully, the charge did not go through because I had warned our credit card company. We also had an experience during our second month that seriously concerned me as a parent. While my children were in lessons, I was sitting in the lobby with my 2-year-old. Several high-school-aged kids were hanging out there, arguing, swearing, and threatening physical violence against each other. It continued for more than 30 minutes. When my children's lessons switched, I was then sitting there with two toddlers while the situation continued escalating. Eventually, I had to stand up and intervene myself. I later learned that one of the teenagers was a SwimQwik employee on her last day and the others were friends hanging out with her. I called the owner afterward and spoke with him directly about what happened. He said that he likes to employ at-risk youth that sometimes need guidance and mentorship. I completely understand that young employees sometimes need additional mentorship and supervision. But that supervision needs to come from an adult manager, not a paying customer sitting in the lobby with her toddlers. If staff need additional support, there should be someone there responsible for managing them. Families paying more than $100 per lesson should be able to expect a safe, professionally supervised environment. Our favorite instructor was exceptional, and our children made tremendous progress with her. Unfortunately, our experience with management was enough that we would never return. My recommendation to other parents is simple: read the negative reviews carefully before signing anything or providing your credit card information. Ask very specific questions about automatic renewals, cancellations, makeup credits, and billing (and get it in writing). I wish we had taken those reviews more seriously. I rarely leave negative reviews, but after our experience I feel other parents should know what they're signing up for. We signed up believing we were trying a free trial. When we decided the facility wasn't the right fit after the first lesson and tried to cancel, we were told we were locked into a three-month contract because we missed the cancellation deadline by one day. I attempted to cancel on April 30, but my email failed to send. As soon as I realized, I resent it first thing on May 1. There was no flexibility or grace despite the circumstances. There is also verbiage on the website to cancel by the 15th of the month, which we did. It is very confusing and misleading. The instructors themselves were wonderful with my daughter. Unfortunately, the management experience was the complete opposite. After disputing the charges, SwimQwik added a $500 "Complaint Administrative Fee" and a $100 Hold Fee to my account. The contract I signed does not disclose a fixed $500 complaint fee, yet one was added after I filed a complaint. The facility itself was also extremely disappointing for the price. The pools are very small, the decking is worn with damaged boards and gaps, and the entire facility feels tired and poorly maintained. The bathroom and changing area were honestly so dirty that I stopped using them altogether. I would wrap my daughter in a towel after her lesson and take her home to shower instead. There is no receptionist or on site staff besides the instructors who can't help with anything to do with your account, all correspondence has to go through email with the manager/owner who takes weeks to respond. After sharing my experience publicly, I was surprised by how many local parents reached out or commented saying they had experienced similar issues with billing, cancellations, or customer service. My advice to any parent is simple: read every word of the contract before signing, especially the cancellation terms. I wish I had. Between the confusing billing practices, poor customer service, and the condition of the facility, I would never recommend SwimQwik to another family. read more

While the instructors are hit and miss - especially when it comes to working with a toddler, SwimQwik's major downfall is their deceptive advertising and having zero operational support to answer questions or explain anything. I signed up for 3 months of private lessons in early April and took lessons in April, May, and June and was then charged in July for another month because April was a "partial" month despite having taken lessons that month. When I filed a complaint with the BBB I was charged $500 for administrative fees to respond to the complaint. Be aware that there is no way to remove your credit card from their site and they will continue to charge it without letting you know first. The worst admins/owners - no transparency and trust. We stayed for the minimum 3 month commitment and the moment I reached out to them to cancel our subscription going forward, they suddenly charge me $1200, and try to wrongly imply that its in the fine print! There is no human anywhere to talk to, and they will promptly respond as long as it is about signing up for more things but if you talk about leaving, be prepared to work with your credit card company fraud department. The progress my son made at Swim quick has been incredible. The place is very nice and great facilities I haven't had any problems like others say they have. We tried the YMCA, etc, but nothing compares to this place. Also in the same parking lot as Gym east, dance studio, etc so great for parents of multiple kids if you can make the times work for you. I also picked the teacher and Kate has been my son's favorite one so far. She is really so great with the kids. I wish there was a zero star option. STAY AWAY! Their customer service is non-existent and they are completely unresponsive to emails or phone calls. There is never anyone at the office either. If you email from any other email (like say, a work email) then what you used to sign up they WILL NOT acknowledge your correspondence, so if you email them to cancel, they will not acknowledge it and will continue to bill you. It's beyond deceptive and I do not see how the BBB or AG have not shut them down yet. Their portal is also terrible and not intuitive. If you sign up for a class and then need to change days of the week - good luck. If you try and switch the day, it will sign you up FOR A NEW SET OF CLASSES. It's insane. Stay away. I thought I was smarter than the dozens of people who have publicly complained on yelp/google about management/billing/contract issues, and yet, in the end, I got screwed out of $360. Their contract says 3 "full" months are required, but the catch is that they mean three "complete" months, as in, you need to have been active for every single day of 3 consecutive calendar months. So, unless you can start your lessons exactly on the 1st, your minimum obligation will span 4 months, not three. I'm sure a lot fewer people would be complaining about the cancellation process if the lessons were better, but we found 20 minutes of class + 10 minutes of "play time", to be insufficient in moving our son's skills forward at a reasonable pace. Oh, and for the record Mastercard will not back you up on a billing dispute. SwimQwik's contract is worded well-enough in their opinion. Buyer beware. read more

The customer service completely unheard of. No one is available to answer the phone, signed up in the store and took in class with my infant that week which was a great time. Asked to sign up for another class and was told we had to do it online. I get signed up through a email on myskillchart which actually isn't even the platform to book appointments. I then find the login to the portal to allow me to try a sign up. The portal wouldn't properly work and sent me into a continuous spiral of trying to login. At this point of spending a hour of just trying to schedule and knowing that no one answers the phone, I see I can cancel this platform which auto charges monthly and you have to cancel by the 15th. "Great I can at least stop the next months billing of $400 from going through if I can't even schedule a class." I email the general email for cancellation and get a response stating that hidden in the verb-age is a 3 month minimum. The person on the other end of the email then continues to justify the terrible customer experience. They reset the password and send some screenshots of the hidden wording. This company then proceeds to bill for 3 months of classes without asking or confirming at any point that is okay! This facility looks great and the teacher was nice however they have terrible systems in place and need to adapt to have a better customer experience. Previously named SwimLabs, SwimQwik are just not worth it. I signed up my kids for 2 private lessons each during their winter break. One of us got Covid-19 and I called in to let them know. Only no one answered. Instead I got a response a few days later that I should email them. Which I did, only for them to tell me "no refunds". Luckily results came back negative in time and our quarantine period was well done and we could keep the scheduled lessons. Only it snowed. They didn't say anything, total lack of communication. But apparently they cancelled our lessons. It only took 2 videos, 2 phone calls, 3 emails, 4 texts to get a response 2 days later. They cancelled, but no refund. You reschedule by the end of January (you see, there's also a time limit for rescheduling). I rescheduled. We get to the lessons, in which they promised to work with the student for 30 minutes. Both lessons the work was for 20 minutes, 5 minutes of game at the end and 5 minutes break for the instructor. For that I paid over $100 per lesson (coming to a total of $500). This entire story comes after we used to go there on a weekly basis before Covid-19 started. They cancelled the rest of their lessons and refused to give us the money back for lessons not used. And then they started having lessons again, we refused to go back and cancelled everything. And they still tried to charge me for annual registration! I caught it in time to cancel all payment form. But wow!!! That place is just not worth any of your money. read more

We canceled our membership for our two sons in January exactly according to the contract terms. They have been charging us ever since. We have attempted to secure a refund for their error, but management only responds about once every three months as if it's the first time we've attempted to contact them. This class is a huge disappointment. I would not recommend this to anyone. My daughter is 7 and a beginner. She has been attending this class once a week since the middle of April. Here we are in June and she still has not advanced to beginner 2. They allow any child of any age apparently to take this class. Today they had a child under age 2 who was still in swim diapers. There were 4 kids in the class with one instructor. How can an instructor provide adequate teaching to 4 kids in the water who are all beginners when he has to keep a toddler safe? Her older brother was in the class too and probably age 4 I would guess. The other girl was 6 and my daughter is 7. It takes 5 min to get into the water. Teaching for each kid is under 5 minutes each. Then they get out of the water 5 minutes before the 30 minutes is over so he can say how they do. These classes are very expensive. I'm in shock they would allow children under age 3 in a class like this. It's very unsafe for that child and doesn't allow the other kids to have proper instruction. That child should be in a private lesson or mom and me class. My 2nd compaint is the requirement to sign up for 3 months. I didn't understand that when I signed up and my daughter moved to another level in her gymnastics and now I have a time conflict. They refused to consider changing the time even though online it said there were other times available. They told me to sign up for an additional class but they would give no refund for the time that didn't work if I changed classes. My 3rd complaint is there is no receptionist. You have to only communicate by email and sometimes they refuse to answer direct questions. I had multiple back and forths before they finally admitted they wouldn't change the time class I had. My 4th complaint is that if you get sick, there are no make-ups which pretty much encourage people to come to the class sick. That must be why the teacher wears a mask in the swimming pool. They said I could book an $80 private lesson if I had to miss a class and claimed that was a discount but credit for missing a class due to sick including covid although they do say you should not come if you have covid. Since many kids have mild covid there would be no way to enforce this. The teacher is great. We have Brendon I think and he is really nice and patient. There were a couple weeks it was only 2 kids and that was better and some progress was made. Several weeks there was a 3 year old in the class which I was also surprised about, but she did follow directions well. But a 1 or 2 year old? He said he didn't think it was good they put a toddler in the class today either. Makes his job really difficult and pretty much impossible for any of the kids to progress in this environment no matter how good the teacher is. At $50 a class that's hugely disappointing. I'm so mad about the toddler being in the class today and missing gymnastics for this that I don't think I will be going back even though I won't get a refund. I'm pretty mad about this entire experience. When we did swim lab with my son 5 years ago it was completely different and a lot better. I recommend going anywhere but here. read more

Horrible place. My daughter is currently enrolled here. The management is nowhere to be seen. I spoke to front desk and requested a consistent instructor for her for atleast few classes. Front desk looked at the schedule and told me that she will have same instructor for the next few weeks. Whats next, next 4 classes she had a different instructor every single time. I am ok if they tell me that upfront, but lying and making false statements is not ethical and fair. I also heard from one of the instructor that they are making her work 6 hours straight with no break which is illegal. She left and now working for YMCA. I have multiple times seen more than 4 kids in their group class, which is not what promised. They never pick up phone calls once you are enrolled there, only way to communicate them is via email. I should have done a better job investigating before signing up for swimming classes here. I signed up for 7 private swimming classes (totaling more than $700) in September. A few days later, I found better pricing and schedule elsewhere, canceled the classes, got confirmation for the cancellation but no refunds. Please keep in mind that when I cancelled the classes, it was several weeks before my first scheduled classes. Called the business several times, each time only got their voice mail and no real people answering. Sent them a message from their website (got a response back 4 days later), sent them a message on facebook only to get a response of them telling me to email them even though I have already email them. In my messages to them, I informed them that I have cancelled the class well in advance because I have found better prices and schedule elsewhere and requested a refund. Finally got a response and they said no refunds because of their terms and conditions. According to their terms and conditions, no refunds allowed for missed classes. Also, registration and withdrawal fees are also nonrefundable for missed classes. I informed them that I have not missed any classes. I canceled the classes with ample amount of time in advance, allowing other people to take my place, meaning that they are still making money regardless. They are still refusing to give me my money back. They are dragging out the time to be able to eventually say that I have missed classes or their deadline to schedule a class. If a business is confident in their customer service and the quality of their service, why the need to hold a customer's money hostage? Is it because they've been losing money due to the lack of quality in the service they provide? Is it because they have been unable to scam as many people as they've hoped? Swimqwik has no business ethic! I was planning to file a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), only to find MORE complaints people have filed against them in recent years for similar complaints of them being a dishonest business. They are not accredited with the BBB and it is clear to me why not. DO NOT sign up for classes here. You will regret it. read more

Overall we've been pretty happy with SwimLabs but it is expensive compared to places like the public pool. At ~$25/lesson, you get class sizes of about 4 kids (sometimes less depending on who signs up). The "pools" are actually large hot tubs which is probably very comforting to students who are scared of the big pools. Luckily, my child is pretty fearless and she was actually able to advance to the next level within a short amount of time. I originally chose SwimLabs because of their flexibility in scheduling. My hubs and I work odd shifts and it's difficult to make lessons if they were set. SwimLabs allowed us to pick and choose in a pay as go type plan. Unfortunately they've changed this and now you have to purchase your passes in monthly blocks in a use it or lose it style. You can still do drop-ins but obviously they're more expensive. My child liked the "girl" teachers more and so I would sign up for those classes but unfortunately oftentimes get a change of teacher notification email a day before class. A lot of their teachers are college students so the teacher consistency wasn't always there. We've also received class cancellation emails a day before class and sometimes we're not able to book another class right away. The locker rooms are pretty basic and small - so since my little is little, I usually just do a quick change at the poolside and take her home to shower. read more

Three weeks ago I began searching for a toddler swim class for my daughter. I came across SwimLabs and attempted to register her online, when that was unsuccessful I called SwimLabs in Issaquah to register. I eventually received an email from an employee, Roxy, stating that she would enroll my daughter in the appropriate swim class. Roxy sent me the date and time, which would begin the following week. The following week my mother took my daughter to SwimLabs only to be told that she was in fact not registered. My mother called me and in speaking with the individual he informed me that my daughter was not on the list. I explained that she had been looking forward to it all week and asked if they could work anything out for that day as I had been guaranteed that she was registered. I was told there was nothing he could do and they turned her away. I asked to speak with a manager who was not available, I provided my contact information and was told I would get a call or email back. That evening I emailed Roxy explaining the situation and requesting to get things sorted out prior to the next swim class. It has been a week and I have still not received an email or call back from Roxy or the manager at the Issaquah SwimLabs. Needless to say I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service provided here. I will be taking my daughter elsewhere for swim lessons. read more

My son really enjoyed the group classes pre covid, and now he has being taking private lessons for 5 months. He really improved and the coaches are great. The only issue is the complete lack of response from the management. My son had to miss the class due to an injury and I was trying to get in touch with the management for the make up class for over a month without getting any answer. Now renamed into SwimQwick, we were really excited to get our daughter to start classes there and were left deeply hurt and disappointed by their treatment. Signed up my child for a group class and paid. They have canceled three weeks in the row. Last time without warning. Showed up for a class and was told there are no classes on that day. Signed up in person for a new day/time and received email confirmation for a different time. They didn't answer calls, emails or texts. The only email response I got a week later is that they don't offer refunds. After leaving a negative review, a couple of days later someone from SwimQuick without listing their name contacted me and told me that they fixed my issue (we still weren't able to come in for even one class) and that I was venting "outside". I told them I'd like give them one more chance and will provide an update to my review once we're actually able to take a class and if they change their service -- and they just cancelled us!! SwimQwik (that was previously SwimLabs) is one the worst run businesses that I have seen. The instructors are good and some are even exceptional (and my kids love them). However the management is the worst. 2 years ago, they charged me ~100$ for a month even after cancelling and discontinuing early. Then they went on to charge an unauthorized yearly fee (of ~60$) for 2 years in row (that is ~$120) in total. They did not respond to my repeated calls. They did not even respond to my repeated emails, and I never got back the ~$200. Now in Sep'22, the same story is repeating itself. For the last 3 weeks, I have left 5+ voice mails, spoken to 2 instructors thrice, sent 6+ follow up emails; all to cancel my private classes for Oct'22 that are ~$400 per month (since I am moving out of state). I have gotten not a single response from the management. Their online site does not even let you remove payment instruments, and only their management can remove or edit recurring payments for plans. So we are at the mercy of their manager or management (that can be reached only via email or voice-mail) that is always non-responsive. I am left with no other option now but to let the charge go through and to file a fraud claim for this. I hope the management at-least reads this review and calls me. read more

1. Staff is extremely helpful in all things from scheduling / payment / finding alternate slots. 2. Haydn (my daughter's swim instructor) is absolutely fantastic. She's extremely patient and has continuously pushed my daughter each week to take on incremental steps without making her feel overwhelmed. My daughter is 3.5 years old and was extremely scared of water when we started off. After a couple of months, she's able to spend 30mins in the pool without fear and doing assisted laps (several of them) and learning to spend be comfortable dipping her head inside the water multiple times in each session. I don't think my daughter would've done as well as she has so far without Haydn's guidance. I am looking forward to my daughter continuing to go here until she masters swimming. They are a bit on the expensive side - especially when you consider that group classes can have up to 4 kids with one instructor. That means your kid is probably getting only 7-8 mins of instructions in a 30min slot. I've not seen instructors find a creative way of teaching the kids who are waiting inline do something fun / useful while they wait their turn (likely to avoid some mishap from happening)...but that is worth the consideration. The positive of the "wait game" is that the kids at least are learning to be patient and wait their turn and exercise a bit of self control :) Again -- I my rating is based on performance and success. read more

Even though they post an info email and phone you cannot get ahold of them for any issues you might have, and when you do, they state they don't have phone service and everything is through email, although they take 5+ days to get back to you only to tell you, sorry, we can't help you in the rudest way possible. To make matters worse, they charged my credit card 3 months in advance when their policy is monthly charges on the 1st of each month. They then proceeded to cancel all my lessons that I had paid for in the current month with no warning and no path to resolution, in addition to charging me a $200 cancelation fee. I bought a 1X Issaquah adult lesson as a present 2/2019 which was a good experience. With the card on file, they placed a charge 2/2020 for $51.40 and again 2/2021 for $51.40. These charges were unauthorized. On my part, I didn't notice the charges immediately. It took months to get them to contact me asking what these charges were for and requesting a resolution. They responded on August 30th with "we will send that to management for review of your account..." My 11-year-old boy was enrolled in the lessons. I would not recommend it for any kid older than 5 years. It "may be" a good place for lil ones. The management is never available and whoever is talking via emails is not very kind. Please be 100% sure before you sign up as there will be no refund under any circumstance. For me, it was an extremely expensive program (private lessons), I did not feel it was worth the money I spent. read more

Will I could put a ZERO star. ATTENTION parents! Read their policy before making any purchase. My kid got a fever one day, they won't let you reschedule and said it was OK to come. They clearly show no respect/responsibility for other kids in the same class. I feel very concern and Will never come again read more

PARENTS BEWARE! In preparation for an upcoming beach vacation, we decided to enroll our 1 year old in Parent-Tot classes at SwimLabs in Issaquah back in September 2019. We had a mix of teachers, but the classes all generally had structure to them, with nursery songs and suggested activities to get the kids used to water. After taking a month-long break for the holidays, we started again at the beginning of January. Yet again, it was a new teacher, but this time, she stood in the corner and did not even say hi or engage with the parents OR children for the duration of the class. My husband and I essentially taught the class and gathered the other parents, who clearly had never been to a class before, to sing nursery rhymes. The class did not meet the descriptors listed in the course description, and certainly did not warrant the high price point that we are paying. I emailed the management to express my disappointment and discuss my concerns, and to request a refund on our remaining classes, which were not anywhere near the quality promised on the SwimLabs website. At first, we received a kind message from one of our old teachers, who understood our position, but wanted to ask once more if we would consider continuing. I responded that no, our son was used to the water by now, and we would like to continue with the refund since the class had basically become a glorified bath-time. Afterwards, we received cold, one-word sentence responses from an anonymous respondent at SwimLabs saying they cancelled us but would not refund us. I asked to talk to a manager on the phone, but was never granted the opportunity, despite several attempts. Per their class description, "Parent Tot is a great introduction to the water for little swimmers from 10 months up to 3 years. This class is for both children and their parents. Parents will learn how to help their children learn water basics like blowing bubbles, putting eyes/nose/mouth in the water, kicks, floats and overall familiarity and comfort in a pool environment. Parent Tot is also a great introduction to water safety rules and practices for even the smallest of swimmers. Children will lean through interactive games and songs as well as structured class time all with an expert SwimLabs instructor." Beware that this is not the experience you will receive while paying close to $1/minute to be there. No manager will respond to me, let alone call me back to discuss like an adult. It is clear that the owner of this franchise is just in it for the highway robbery of the class fees. read more

0/10, 0/5, just ZERO out of whatever possible scale there could be because that is all this place amounts to. Fraud charge after fraud charge with nothing but radio silence from SwimLabs. After not responding to the latest email from May about two fraud charges in March and April, I've finally had Chase refund those and mark them as fraud. 6 months later, a NEW charge from you? You just reminded me about this whole fiasco and now you've got my blood boiling. I will never recommend your business, I will never ever reconsider, and anyone one I know looking for swim lessons for their kids may not get a suggestion for a good place, but they will surely get a "stay away from SwimLabs in Issaquah." I've always thought the instructors did a nice job though. I hope they find a decent place to work sometime. At least I only had to show up once a week, they have to show up every day and stay there. read more
