We came on their last day of the season about a week ago late June. It was beautiful, very family friendly. We went just to check the scene out and we do plan on returning for more events in the future and during lavender season itself. The staff that we encountered were very helpful thing I noticed was how nicely dressed was that worked there. They offered a lot of lavender themed products things like food and drinks and soap. They had a garden that you could just walk through. It is very picturesque the entire property.

Lovely fields of lavender, wildflowers, and sunflowers for picking. Baskets, scissors provided. Very friendly and attentive staff. Lunch and delicious lavender ice cream available on covered picnic tables.

Love love love this place. A hidden gem of Williamsburg for sure. Prices are reasonable, staff are super kind and overall I had a great time. I came here to pick wild flowers which I think was actually better than the lavender pickings. They also have a cute shop where you can buy lavender items as well as a small menu of food items like lavender drinks, ice cream, and cotton candy. They also have a petting zoo open at specific hours and some other events like evening live music.

I had been wanting to visit sweethaven for some time now. I decided to book tickets for my anniversary with my husband. We took our kids along with us. It was such a nice experience. I wasn't expecting to have as much fun as we did. Firstly, the staff were all so kind and helpful. It was our first time so we weren't sure what all to do but they let us know the ins and outs of everything. The lavender was so beautiful and plentiful. The kids really enjoyed picking the lavender, sunflowers and wild flowers. They were also able to feed the sheep. They have a nice little area that served all kinds of lavender treats and drinks and everything was so yummy. The shop had the cutest items to purchase. I would definitely try and make this a yearly visit.

What a lovely place! I could have not asked for a better experience here. It was easy to book online our two hour experience which I bought the picnic basket experience for the three of us attending. Foodwise- everything in the picnic lunch was absolutely delicious. The Turkey sandwich was good and of course all of the lavender infused treats from the brownie to the fruit salad and everyone in our group had the half & half Arnold Palmer and all items were so yummy! Other food products are available for a la carte purchase such as cotton candy and scones and they looked yummy as well. Store-Lots of great products and I wish I could buy all the lavender items! Nice and friendly people working the store. The farm-beautiful and peaceful gardens to walk through. Lambs-so cute and sweet! Overall a great experience here! Love the package deal!

The season unfortunately ended on July 2nd. But I must say I'm glad I was able to catch this lavender farm in Williamsburg a few days before they closed! Thank you Aneesa, for showcasing them on a reel,so that I was able to catch them! To visit the lavender farm, you make advance reservations online which allows you to visit the lavender farm and explore. If you want to PICK & CUT lavender or flowers or feed and pet the sheep you pay for those activities when you arrive at the farm. You can also just purchase lavender infused treats like ice cream, brownies, cotton candy, chocolate, lemonade, teas and iced lattes at their mercantile shop. Once you pay for your treats you pick them up in the barn behind the store. They also carry lavender soaps and other lavender items for sale in their store. Picnic food such as sandwiches, chips etc are available for pre-purchase online AT LEAST 48 HOURS in advance or you can bring your own picnic on the premises. Be sure to have your pre-paid tickets on your phone or printed upon arrival to show at the check in shelter near the front. This is where you will pay to pick lavender or for any other activities. You then walk a few feet where they hand you a pair of scissors, a basket and a ring for each number of bouquets you pay for. You will fill the ring with all the stems you have cut until it is packed and that designates ONE bouquet. After you are finished cutting your lavender and flowers you bring them into the mercantile shop and they will wrap them for you. Tip: If you pay for cutting flowers, wait to pick it AFTER the lavender or after anything you are planning to do. Because the longer the flowers are cut and do not have access to water the faster they will wilt and you end up paying for essentially dying flowers. I saw this one lady and she brought her zinnias up to be wrapped and they were all practically dying and wilted. I paid to feed and pet the sheep. I just had to! They're way too cute!! The young lady that was monitoring the sheep was telling us their names and they are mainly named after flowers. Too cute! Lots of them were babies that were born in March and April and are twins! I purchased a lot of the lavender desserts! They were pretty good! I had the lavender lemonade which was pretty and refreshing. The lavender ice cream was creamy and a pretty purple. I decided to save my brownie and scones for home and purchased some for my husband to try. The lemon lavender scones were a good consistency, weren't dry but I felt they could be more flavorful. The lavender brownies were soft and delicious!! It was windy that day and while I was enjoying my treats the wind knocked over my bag of lavender and zinnias. I didn't realize they had placed my zinnias in a cup of water. I had to get more water and ask them to re wrap my lavender because the wrapping paper was soaked. If you have a closed container or a small cooler to set a vessel of water or even your car drink holder, use that to ensure the water for the flowers don't spill. Over all, it was an awesome experience, a lot of focus and concentration with cutting lavender and making sure you're respectful of the bees. I like that I was able to mix in some French and English Lavender in my bouquet. It was a very enjoyable time spent outdoors with my niece and sisters. This particular lavender farm is very picturesque, beautiful, serene and well organized. Although, we went when it first opened for the day at 10am, it was really busy! I was hoping it wasn't going to be so many people at that time. Their time slots are two hour durations : 10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm, 2pm-4pm. Their weekends are a bit different with them open later from 6-9pm with live music.

Such a great place for a family outing or with friends. I went with a girlfriend and we very much enjoyed our afternoon. The grounds are beautiful and so inviting. A relaxing feeling takes you over as you enter the lavender fields. The employees do a wonderful job of explaining how to collect your lavender and the different types they have in the fields. They give you a basket for your collecting as well as tools for cutting. We meandered for a while and collected our stems for our bouquet. They also have a Zinnia field and sunflowers so we collected flowers as well. When we finished, they wrapped up our bouquets and we enjoyed looking in the little shop were you can purchase items such a lavender syrup, etc. Following that we sat and enjoyed some lavender lemonade. A perfect way to end the afternoon. Next time I will have the ice cream!

This place oozes charm. It was the perfect stop for my day trip to Yorktown Beach. They require ticket reservations which are very easy to buy on their website. It was a reasonable entrance fee for me and my friend, especially if you don't end up buying anything. When we first arrived, the friendly lady who checked our tickets explained what we could pick and buy. We went straight to the store for some lavender goodies. Inside it smelled like HEAVEN. Lavender is so delightful and this store reminded me non-stop how much I love it. If it was up to me, I would've bought the entire store. They had everything from Lavender Latte Candles to Lavender Lotion to even Lavender Chocolate. Think of any item, add Lavender before it, and it was probably at that store. I ordered a Lavender Lemonade and a Lavender Lemon Scone. The scone was in a plastic bag at the cashier, but I had to pick up my lemonade from behind the barn. The section where I picked up my lemonade looked like it was made for weddings. It was an open space with garage windows that were opened. It was the perfect summer escape. The lemonade was made for Instagram. The drink was purple with a purple straw and a stem of lavender. I highly recommend getting this drink when you visit. We walked around the farm after grabbing my drink. The zinnias were gorgeous. Butterflies and bees flew happily along all of them. We walked through sunflowers, french lavender, and english culinary lavender. We saw some adorable sheep too. They looked very happy from all the food families had been feeding them all day. You can choose to pay a small fee for a sheep experience where you can feed and pet them. We spent a good amount of time on an outdoor porch swing in the shade. The whiff of lavender with the breeze transported me to the south of France. We tried the Lavender Lemon Scone on the swing. It tasted like they put too much baking soda in it so we didn't finish it. I loved our experience here. We would've spent most of the afternoon on that porch swing if we did not have other plans. Don't hesitate about visiting Sweethaven, it's worth it. All the employees are so sweet and the lavender is even sweeter.

One thing I can say is that this lavender farm is a hidden gem in Williamsburg! Came here for a visit on a very warm July morning, but enjoyed my time feeling at peace. Upon arrival you'll check into the cottage to pay for your bouquet (not included in the price of your ticket). $8 to pick lavender, you can also pick sunflowers, and zinnias. U-pick tools will be given to you which include a basket, ring, and scissors. The farm happens to be open rain or shine. May through July are peak times for lavender, but they also are open in the Fall! Sunhats are recommended. They offer sweets treats in the store and have a few benches throughout the farm to sit. They offer storytime for the little ones. You're able to foldable chairs. Parking is pretty easy and there was plenty. This is an activity that is fun for all gives you a nice to to unwind. Tickets are available for weekdays and weekends during their open season. All in all I had a positive experience and would definitely return!

We were looking for a cute day date and came across this cute place! Sweethaven Lavender is exactly how you would imagine it to be! After parking in the lot, as I approached the entrance of this farm I felt like I was going to a wedding reception or something similar. It felt and looked very fancy! Without even entering, you could see the large lavender, wildflower and sunflower fields they have! We planned on just having the picnic and taking some pictures within the fields (admission was like $7 and adding on the picnic was $23), however while taking some pictures we couldn't help ourselves and decided to add on picking some flowers ! They had the option of picking sunflowers (3 for $8), lavender ($8), zinnias ($8) and or a bouquet of wildflowers (however much you could fit in a plastic cup for $8). I didn't think that there was a huge variety of the wildflowers, but as you can see from the picture, my friend proved me wrong lol. It was really hot (we went mid June) and not really any areas for shade, so I recommend bringing a hat! There were also a lot of bees, so be careful if you're allergic. There was a small little play area for children to play as well. There were little barns they could play in and a stage area where they could act on/run around on/do activities. There was actually a group of children present for a birthday party which I thought was super cute! There is also an area for corn hole. I forgot to take a picture, but there was also a cute little tent on the farm and they offer glamping which is super cool! The picnic included a Turkey croissant sandwich, lavender Mayo on the side, a small fruit cup, a lavender brownie, and your choice of beverage (lavender sweet tea, lavender unsweetened tea, and lavender lemonade). The beverages are a little on the sweet side however when the ice melted and diluted the drink it tasted great lol! There was plenty of seating for eating. We weren't sure if we needed to bring our own blanket and basket so we did. Don't do what we did haha. They provide you with your own basket and blanket to sit on if you choose to sit out on the fields! We ended up not using it and sat at the tables haha. The food was ok. The sandwich is probably as you'd imagine. They added a touch of their lavender straight from their field to the mayo if you want to add that to your sandwich. If not, they include regular Mayo too. The fruit cup was pretty sweet/ripe as well too. And the brownie was delicious, no nuts for those with allergies, just a touch of lavender. Overall, I loved my experience here! The price was well worth the experience. The staff was super helpful and nice. The farm was clean and beautiful. I'd definitely come back and would recommend to people in the Williamsburg area or around the area, looking for a nice place to spend time on a beautiful day.

Contrary to what Yelp says -- this farm is open and it's amazing. You can check their hours and sign up for picking times through their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/sweethavenlavender/ I took my two young sons here for the morning to clip some lavender and enjoy a picnic lunch on the farm grounds. You sign up for your picking window ahead of time to ensure appropriate social distancing. Each bouquet of lavender you pick is $8. They provide you with scissors and baskets to collect the lavender. They have both purple and white lavender varietals on the property, so you can choose which you prefer. In addition to the U-Pick function, there is a beautifully maintained garden where you can enjoy many butterflies and other flower varietals. In the home shop, they offer pre-pick options, as well as a variety of handmade products from their lavender. These include soaps and lotions to edibles like brownies and lollipops. There is a large wooded, shaded area with several picnic tables where you can bring your own lunch and simply enjoy the view. Overall, I would highly recommend this as a fun, relaxing excursion.

@sweethavenlavender was a great place to go for a relaxing day out with my Mom @kathybright1104 ! My mom spends a lot of time ensuring Grandma stays in tip top shape. So, I decided my bestie needed a well deserved break to recharge and rejuvenate. And planned a day trip for us to take a joy ride to Williamsburg, VA. Once, Mommy and I arrived at Sweethaven Lavender; we checked in and picked up our chalet picnic package. The owner, Hanna walked us to a cute private chalet on the farm in a beautiful field. Our lunch came with two turkey and Colby Jack croissant sandwiches, fruit salad topped with lavender simple syrup, lavender fudge brownies, and our choice of lavender sweet tea, lemonade, or an Arnold Palmer. The lavender brownies an Arnold Palmer was everything! After we ate our food we walked the grounds and each picked a lavender bouquet. Before leaving we went into the store and did a little shopping. Picked up a few bars of lavender soap and decorative bouquets. I have to go back soon because I forgot to get my lavender cotton candy. Hanna, her family and friends are amazing! They all stepped out on faith and pursued their dream to own a family farm. Y'all know I'm a sucker for a family that realizes that as long as they have each they can accomplish anything! Y'all make sure you go support this #localbusiness and tell them I said, hi when you visit! Shot out to @wheresxthexfood and @savvythriftnista for letting me know about this spot!

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather outdoors! Sweethaven is truly a piece of heaven just outside of Williamsburg. We came at the end of the season, but fortunately the fields of French perfume lavender and English lavender permeated the summer breeze. As we picked our bouquet of lavender ($8/bouquet), the bees and butterflies were busy pollinating the fields of flowers. They had zinnias ($8/bouquet) in vibrant colors and a beautiful field of golden sunflowers ($2.50/flower) beckoning us! In the far end of the property are the sheep that you can feed and pet for a charge. The sheep had names. One was particularly vocal! The gift shop offered all things lavender from lip balm, towels, roll-ons, candy bars, and teas, to hand-made soaps, cook books, and coffees. They also have picnic areas where you can enjoy eating lavender ice cream, scones, tea, and lemonade!! Makes for a fun day with friends and family!! Definitely well worth the trip and experience!! The staff were very friendly and happy to greet you!!

The ice cream, lemonade and sweet tea are phenomenal.

I love everything about pumpkin, so when I read about College Run Farm (CRF) serving homemade pumpkin ice cream, I was sold. My boys and I decided to take advantage of a gorgeous fall day and drove to CRF in Surry. If you've been to Chippokes State Park, you know how rural that road is and narrow. CRF is right up the road past Chippokes' entrance. We figured we might be the only customers there; we were shocked to see a full parking lot and many people. CRF has pumpkins available already picked, but what's the fun of that? We went to the pumpkin patch with our sheet in hand -I posted a picture- and cutters in order to cut the pumpkin off the vine. My boys decided they wanted Aladdins, and they were in Section 1, easy to find. My youngest picked a small pumpkin ($6) and my two older boys wanted bigger ones (regular $7). CRF does not weigh pumpkins and you use the honor system. You put down which pumpkins and how much on the sheet; put your pumpkins in your vehicle; and then you take the sheet to inside to pay. While inside, you can also purchase admission for the corn maze ($3 per person--free for 5 and under), which we didn't do, and homemade pumpkin ice cream, which we DID do--FTW! I thought their ice cream was a pretty good value: big waffle cones with two scoops for $3.50--especially being homemade. They also serve homemade strawberry ice cream in the spring during their strawberry season. We enjoyed CRF; it had a relaxed feeling, and we loved being able to pick our own pumpkins off the vine. They don't have lots of fall festival stuff such as a bouncy house or hayride, but that was fine with me. Surry is a bit of a drive from Suffolk, but combining a visit with Chippokes State Park, it could be an awesome day.

We did buy a few sandwich's and our review is based on that. The wifey got herself a roast beef sandwich and I got a ham and cheese. Both were packed with meat. Very filling. Now don't get me wrong you'll pay for these sandwich's but with the meat they stack on you won't be mad. We both like our sandwich's and remember what I said about being full of meat - my wifey brought 1/2 of hers home. As for me - I finished mine but won't be eating an early dinner :). The young lady who made our sandwiches took care of us and the other customers by herself and I think she did real well. The place offers no inside eating but a couple tables outside near the front door that are covered and a couple picnic benches next to the building, uncovered. I was told by the nice lady who worked there that they make kimbap on the daily (if you didn't know, the best and cheapest way to get kimbap is at almost all the Korean grocery stores). She also said that the owner makes all the banchan and usually makes them on fridays. I picked up things like purple potato starch noodles (say what?! The noodles used for japchae are purple...maybe the Koreans are getting on the ube train...), a box of Bacchus-D (Korean energy drink that was the inspo behind Red Bull), Banana milk, Coffee milk, and some Korean ssuk gae-tteok, which is a chrysanthemum leaf rice cake (or muwgwort), coated in a bean powder! It was SO GOOD and so fresh! It's a Korean version of mochi, if you're familiar with that. All in all, I can't wait to go back and stock up on banchan that I am too lazy to make and try their kimbap. Things to note: I was told that this is strictly a Korean grocery store and not an "International" one as most of the Asian grocery stores label themselves. There are no other products related to other Asian cuisines, just Korean. Enjoy, Friends!

The Cheese Shop I'm honestly mad at myself for not taking pictures -- because this place is that…read morefun. You can grab a sandwich (lots of great options) and their house dressing alone is worth the stop. Seriously delicious. But the real fun is the cheese counter. You can build your own cheese board, browse all their incredible cheeses and charcuterie options, and then... here's the best part... Take everything downstairs to the cellar, order a glass (or bottle) of wine, and just enjoy. No rush. No fuss. Just good food, good wine, and a great atmosphere. It's one of those spots that feels like an experience, not just a meal. Fun, relaxed, and so, so yum. If you're in Colonial Williamsburg, don't skip this one. Grab cheese, grab wine, and settle in -- you'll be glad you did.

I also tried one of their chocolate chip cookies and a brookie and they were both delicious! Will get those again! Loved that on a busy Sunday lunch time that they had an employee greeting everyone and telling them how the ordering process works and directing people to where they ahold go! Made everything so efficient! No seating inside but plenty outside! Also lots of yummy treats and food items to look at inside while waiting for your sandwich to be prepared!
