I wish I had gone to them on day 1! They took over handling EVERYTHING, were super responsive (you can text them with questions and they respond very quickly) and were very patient with all of my questions. It was a very quick process (in comparison to when I was trying to handle it myself at least) and it was so much less stress letting them handle everything. Highly recommend Rasheeda (paralegal) and Amanda (attorney). Hopefully I won't need a personal injury lawyer again, but if I do I'd 100% come back to Hoffman.

I have had to go back to court just to clean up the mess he created. He is sloppy and arrogant. Now you could say that this is me being upset over the outcome and some of that would be true. However these opinions have also been stated by no less then four other attorneys from three separate law firms. To further my point regarding Michael's work product I am posting a copy of Michaels public reprimand. This is for 2008, however he committed the same act while representing me. He also tried to get me to testify for him while he knew that he was committing the same type of act that got him the public reprimand which he failed to mention. This man is despicable. There are to many attorneys to use a bad one. I would use a negative star if I could. In the Matter of Michael David Wood Annotate this Case THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA In The Supreme Court In the Matter of Michael David Wood, Respondent. Opinion No. 26513 Submitted June 3, 2008 - Filed June 30, 2008 PUBLIC REPRIMAND Lesley M. Coggiola, Disciplinary Counsel, and C. Tex Davis, Jr., Senior Assistant Disciplinary Counsel, both of Columbia, for Office of Disciplinary Counsel. Michael David Wood, of Charleston, pro se. PER CURIAM: In this attorney disciplinary matter, respondent and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) have entered into an Agreement for Discipline by Consent (Agreement) pursuant to Rule 21, RLDE, Rule 413, SCACR. In the Agreement, respondent admits misconduct and consents to a confidential admonition or a public reprimand. We accept the Agreement and issue a public reprimand. The facts, as set forth in the Agreement, are as follows. Facts Respondent represented a client in a domestic matter. The client, who was living in the marital home, gave respondent an unopened package addressed to the client's spouse that had been delivered to the marital home. Respondent, without the knowledge or consent of the addressee, opened the package and removed its contents. Immediately thereafter, respondent informed opposing counsel, who was present for an emergency hearing in the case, of his actions and allowed him to inspect the contents of the package. During the emergency hearing, respondent informed the court that he had opened the package and he presented the contents of the package to the court. Law Respondent admits that, by his misconduct, he has violated the following provisions of the Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 407, SCACR: Rule 4.4 (a lawyer who receives a document relating to the representation of the lawyer's client and knows or reasonably should know that the document was inadvertently sent shall promptly notify the sender) and Rule 8.4 (it is professional misconduct for a lawyer to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, to engage in conduct involving dishonesty or to engage in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice). Respondent further admits his misconduct constitutes grounds for discipline under Rule 7(a)(1)(it shall be a ground for discipline for a lawyer to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct) and Rule 7(a)(5)(it shall be a ground for discipline for a lawyer to engage in conduct tending to pollute the administration of justice or to bring the courts or the legal profession into disrepute or conduct demonstrating an unfitness to practice law) of the Rules for Lawyer Disciplinary Enforcement, Rule 413, SCACR. Conclusion We find respondent's misconduct warrants a public reprimand. Accordingly, we accept the Agreement and publicly reprimand respondent for his misconduct. PUBLIC REPRIMAND. TOAL, C.J., MOORE, WALLER, PLEICONES and BEATTY, JJ., concur.

This review is long but worth it. I want to start by saying that I originally did not hire this…read morefirm. I was injured in an accident in SC but lived out of state so in the midst of trying to recover, I simply asked a few people for a referral and they suggested another firm. I was told by others that I should get a lawyer simply because it would make it easier on me as they would handle communications with bills etc. and take things off my plate. I do not want to go into too many details on that firm as this is not their review but my experience with them was absolutely horrible. I felt like my case was going to end poorly and I felt like I had no control over that, despite the fact I was killing myself trying to heal and trying to do deal with them. I even had doctors call me directly, refusing to deal with my lawyer there, because of his unprofessionalism. As luck or fate would have it, thankfully someone at that firm asked David Yarborough to step in to see if he could help on my case. For no extra charge to me. I can never put into words how much I owe to David and his team, as well as a 3rd firm that stepped in. After the very first introduction, I called my friend crying because I could tell that I finally had someone who very clearly knew what they were doing. Shortly after, I was introduced to the rest of his team and their empathy, professionalism, and kindness, was overwhelming after not having that for over 3 years. They continually reminded me that my focus should be on healing, that it should not be on the case. They also never made me feel like I had to prove my injury. I would like to specifically call out Cait, the paralegal I dealt with, as her compassion was everything. When I would mention how incredible it was that they were so kind and actually treated me like a person, Cait told me that they all had done specific trainings and team exercises to make sure they focused on the clients needs, including the impact trauma has on mental health. That it was important to them that they showed that in their actions. Cait talked to me often to calm and reassure me, including supporting my faith in God, the morning before court. She is not only great at her job, but is a beautiful, kind person; inside and out. I also know the stereotypes that come with lawyers and despite being INCREDIBLY good at what they do and being very successful; never once did David or Reynolds show up with their ego in the way, or treat me as less than them. I dealt directly with them, not some gatekeeper, and they showed the action Cait mentioned above. They were "regular" relatable guys, who cared deeply about what they do and their clients. They hugged and held me when I was crying after court and never shamed me for being emotional. I am writing this because I cannot recommend them enough and they changed my life. Not just because of the result of my case, but because of how they treated me. They probably will never understand how badly I needed that at the time and I am forever thankful.
