They don't take reservations like most popular brunch places and so our friend was kind enough to put her name down and wait next-door while the rest of us arrived from our respective neighborhoods. The fried chicken have a great crunch, the waffles are crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside and their blueberry butter is amazing! 2) The Bloody Mary! Got the classic chicken and waffles, fried okra, and biscuit. Could easily share between two people, considering the portions were big. Their chicken really taste so good, very crispy and you could taste the flavoring inside (even for breast part!). The waffles were fine on its own, but when mixed with their butter and syrup, it is good. The biscuit really didnt suit my palate. Haven't been to sweet chicks in a few years. Went for the first time during this pandemic and outdoor dining is now offered. You have to have a smart phone if you want to eat here now- there are no waiters to take your order. Scan the QR code and the menu comes up on your phone. DEFINITELY get the chicken and waffles (I mean, if you aren't here to get this then you didn't come for the right reasons lol)! They have different waffles to choose from; we got both the original and the bacon & cheddar - both very very good. Their chicken is crispy, perfectly fried on the outside and juicy on the inside. I like my waffles on the crispier side and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they do their waffles just like that! We also got the black bean cake scramble (vegetarian option) - don't let the name scare you. It was DELICIOUS. Idk how you make black beans into a cake and taste that good both in texture and flavor but they did it. There's a sauce that it comes with (green in color) and they put it on the side and I really liked it on the black bean cake. Eggs were perfectly scrambled and flavored as well! We were looking for a brunch spot in Brooklyn and came across Sweet Chick. Everything about this spot looked promising, seemed to have a good vibe, lots of positive reviews and we had to wait for a table. Wow! Was I ever disappointed. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences that I've had in a long time. Most of the people in my group ordered the waffles and they were good. I decided to try an eggs Benedict, the fried green tomato to be specific, which was hugely disappointing. The eggs themselves were over cooked, effectively hard boiled. The eggs were accompanied by some sort of tasteless off putting sludge, the black eye pea spread mixed in with the vegan ham I guess, not something that was at all appetizing. Now it is one thing to order something you don't like or to get something where a mistake was made in the cooking or prep. But, the thing that really got to me was the service. I hardly touched my food and our sever never came to check on us. I was seated in a high traffic area of the restaurant, but was never able to get anyone's attention. Even when they came to clear the plates and mine was pretty much untouched, no one thought to ask if there was a problem. I also ordered one pice of their vegetarian fried chicken which I thought was a cool idea. Unfortunately, the execution here was also a flop. The "fried chicken" arrived as a lightly battered ball of dense vegetable protein of some sort. As it was a sphere it lacked surface area and topography for the batter to adhere to, so in the end all you are eating is the vegetable protein, which didn't have much in the way of flavour. This item needs to be smaller, made in a more creative shape and covered in a thick juicy layer of crispy batter (read deep fry the f*%# out of this). In the end all I can suggest is that if you find yourself at Sweet Chick, stick to the waffles. read more

This location only offers takeout and has a smaller menu than usual during COVID. It was easy to walk up and order. We decided on jalapeño hush puppies, and two orders of the Lil Chicken and Waffles. The chicken is mouth watering... one of the best chicken tenders I've had. The waffle is also great with the syrup, the chicken, and their different butters. You can choose from bacon cheddar, apple cinnamon, rosemary mushroom, dried berry, rosemary mushroom, spiced pecan, or classic. There's also three butters you get which are all equally delicious: rosemary, lemon honey, or mixed berries. The chicken is pretty good too. Wilma Jean is still my fave, but it's good here. SPACE - It's on the smaller end for a restaurant but they really fill it up. My friend and I sat at the bar which was lovely bc we got seated faster that way. WAIT - On MLK day, the wait was 45 mins at 1pm. And unlike other places I've been, the wait here really DID take that long. I always go for the classic chicken and waffles that comes with berry butter( I'm not sure what type of berry), honey butter and syrup and they top the waffles with powdered sugar. The waffles are to die for and the chicken is so tender, seasoned well and crispy. The Nashville chicken sandwich was just alright. Definitely wasn't Nashville sauce it was more like a Buffalo sauce but it was tasty. The fries were regular nothing impressive, but they came with this bomb homemade ranch. Had a small wait before getting a table indoors. Staff was very friendly and cool. Food was great. When get to table, there's a QR code to scan where you order then staff brings food and drinks. Much continues to be said about Sweet Chick. I was able to visit for dinner a while back and was so pleasantly surprised but the flavorful dishes. The most refreshing surprise was the Chorizo Bacon Rice. I love catfish, but the side of the rice intrigued me. I was glad to taste that the rice was very soft. The mix of the chorizo and the bacon was love. Flavor so good that you didn't even need a drop of gravy. I thought it was a pretty imaginative side dish. I guess they waited to serve everything when all the food was done but they could've put the dish on a hot plate to keep it warm. This meal was alright. Buttermilk Pancakes with blueberry compote wasn't anything special. Pancakes could be softer and moist. The butter they served on the other hand was good. Lemon, Herb & Raspberry? 3 different kinda of butters. Raspberry was the favorite out of all 3. Smoked pork hash had a citric/sour taste. Definitely didn't like it and had to pack it to go instead of having the restaurant throwing it out. My mom eats anything so I packed it for her. The positives about Sweet Chick are endless. But a few of my favorites are the time they open. 10AM is about as good as your going to get for a restaurant in Williamsburg. GO EARLY! It is almost always packed. The brunch menu is daily and affordable. The Bacon. My god, the bacon. Sometimes I just get a Bloody Mary and a side of bacon. The cheese grits are also definitely my go-to. The music is killer. Mostly 90's hiphop. It's nostalgic. It feels like Brooklyn and it's a staple. The staff is hip and cool and KIND. The owner really knows how to pick them. Ohhh and if you really want to do it the right way, don't skip the chicken and waffles and butter options. Downfalls: the wait. While worth it, the wait can be very long. The very close tables. New York real estate. Am I right? While families can go here, I wouldn't recommend it. It's loud and a bit cramped. read more

So I have been wanting to try out this dope resturant that was low key & chill yet cultured. I took My Beau out as a birthday surprise and we dined here. The decor was modern but with a old twist. I was pleased when we were sent a text in a shorter span of time. We were seated quickly and are server was pretty nice. Also she was so helpful in making My Beau's birthday special, she brought a candle and the gifts I bought her out before our food came. I ordered the Bellini and it wasn't what I expected at all. The pink lemonade was to die for !! Must try! I ordered the chicken with waffles and a side of cheddar grits; while my beau ordered the shrimp & grits. The waffles were so soft moist and fluffy! I felt like my mouth was in heaven. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful. O M G !!! It was delicious. I received the three butter that come with the entree ( blueberry butter, lemon butter, & a salty spicy butter) none of them were to my liking. The grits seemed as though they need to be cooked more. Thank god for My Beau's gravy that came with her shrimp and grits because thats what saved me from not eating it period. This is my second time coming here with my bestie.The first time I got the fried chicken bucket which came with a 3 piece fried chicken (original crispy) a biscuit and coleslaw. I loved the chicken very great taste. The coleslaw was good just a bit spicy (which some can like) and a large biscuit (just wish it came with butter). Other than that the food quality is amazing. It is hard to find a good southern food spot in nyc. This is definitely one I will be returning to. To drink I got the Arnold Palmer, for those who don't know, that is half iced tea/ half lemonade. They have also different flavored chicken as well. I just was in the mood for an original crispy taste. The aesthetic is cute very country themed. Wooden chairs, tables and benches. We ordered four dishes: Grilled Octopus, Pork Belly Nuggets, the Chicken Waffle and the Cheese Grits. Grilled Octopus is tasty and flavorful with the glaze. The grilled Octopus is really soft and easy to bite off, but they are a bit over cooked. Because of that they had some bitter aftertaste. The Pork Belly Nuggets The acidic taste of the kimchi balance out the oily taste of the pork belly. It is probably the best out the four dishes I had ordered. I highly recommended it. Its time for an update. Sweet chick is just the best...my fav meal. The first time we came here two years ago, it was a total accident. I had never heard of this place but we happened by it after pies n thighs quoted us a two hour wait and peaches hothouse seemed too far of a drive. The chicken n waffles were great then, but this time...the menu has been expanded so they have like every chicken dish you can think of turned into a chicken and waffles dish. So General Tso Chicken, Chicken wings, Chicken cordon bleu etc...you get the idea. I got the Nashville hot chicken with milk "jam" (like thin icing) on the waffles. You always get three sweet and savory butters (so good) and now can get your chicken dipped in "hot honey" (you totally should). You can even get vegetarian "fried chicken." The chicken is excellent and the waffles are prob best I've ever had. We also shared a bowl of Mac n cheese..delish. They have fun drink names like " tiger, tiger woods y'all", "so fresh so clean" (gin?) & my personal fav "purple drank". They play a steady stream of hip hop so you can eat your chicken n waffles, drink your purple drank and listen to Drake at the same time (I kinda feel so lame writing this but you know, be who you are and all lol...) There's usually a little wait (its been 15 min when I've been) but they'll take a cell number and call you when your tables ready. Ohh...watch that latch on the single bathroom doors in the back. However I don't know if because of covid or the people just haven't had better food but its not worth the hype. The chicken sandwich was good. My boyfriend got the Buffalo chicken (could be very spicy) and I got the chicken BLT one. Additionally we got the slaw (ehh) the macaroni and cheese (ok that was wack!! I definitely had better in Harlem or any soul food place.
