Instead, they keep sending me a junk mail twice a day every day, more than 10 ad mails within the last 7 days! Yes I subscribed the sale info mail but who would expect 2 a day everyday? It is very annoying, and upsetting because I don't hear anything from them about my order and shipping. I purchased the exactly the same items at another online shop 2 days after I bought at Swanson. They were gifts and sent to my friend's. Although I ordered them later, she got the package in 2 days. Here I am, waiting for a whole week without hearing anything from the company. AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE Swanson Vitamins has chosen to use DHL as its new shipping supplier. I placed an order that was shipped out quickly on the sixth of May. I checked today and noticed they they have provided a "GM" tracking number. This is a DHL Global Mail tracking number, that can take up to several weeks to arrive. In checkout it is listed as DHL Priority Mail with shipping time 4-8 days. Such a time frame is DHL Express, not DHL Global Mail. There is no tracking for DHL Global Mail once it leaves its country of origin. All I know is that my parcel left the US on the 8th. I have no idea when or if I will receive this parcel. Please people, do not choose this shipping option unless you are willing to wait a considerable amount of weeks to potentially get your parcel - I know from experience. This was the only available option available to me when choosing shipping, and I thought that it was DHL Express (due to the 4-8 days shipping time mentioned). Australian & International customers, DO NOT place your order unless you are sure Swanson will send it express, otherwise you are likely to have a very long wait. I myself will be taking the 4-8 days quoted as being literal and be taking further action if the parcel does not arrive within an appropriate amount of time. UPDATE: The parcel went to Germany and now MIGHT be on its way to Australia. That was a week ago and apparently it sat in Germany for eight days. I don't know about all of you, but I don't want my vitamins held in storage for weeks without proper care. Swanson have stopped replying to my requests and blatantly refusing to process a refund. I'll be contacting my bank on Monday and processing a refund. If the parcel arrives, I'll be throwing it out as the item (several hundred dollars worth) will no longer be consumable. read more

It is a complete disaster for intermnational customers. I had a chat askinf if I could change the order. The answer was affirmative. There was a new amount (40% inferior to the previous one). They charged my bank with the old amount. One customer repersentative even said to me that Swanson has to be protected by fraud when I asked for the refund for the difference!!!! And they are asking my bank to authorize them to do the refund (insane!) So, I cancelled the purchase, a customer service representative said was ok. But I decided to ask by email as well. Again, no notice about it even after 9 emails. Then the order was already sent. And they still refuse to pay the difference with the definitive amount or pay after the order goes back. I am informing every patient association that I am involved with about it. And i have a formal complaint about Swanson at the European Consumer Network already accepted. It is a company that overcomplicates processes, does'nt care about intermational customers. They do not know how to deal internationally. I have been reading the reviews here at Yelp and at resellerratings. There is a hudge difference between american customers and international ccustomers, specially europeans. Americans seem quite happy. The rest, very, very unhappy. The experience with Swanson is a nightmare. I believe now that They despite international customers. There is a coomon denominator and it's that we, europeans customers, feel deceived and robbed. Too much of a coincidence. Swanson health is the complete absolut oppsite experiencie to Puritan s Pride which I do recommend. I placed an order on August 26th and by October 7th still didn't arrive. I called them numerous times and wrote to them, with no success. Long waits and not solving the issue. I had to open a dispute with my Visa card to get the money back, as Swanson refused to give me a refund. Horrible experience! Never again! read more

I ordered from this company for 11 years with pretty good results. BUT NOW: Their products seem to be losing quality. Almost every "Swanson Brand" item I have ordered in the past year or so has had a quality issue. From broken capsules leaking into container to capsules that are completely empty and brittle, almost all had a problem. Some capsules were as hard as rock - which made me wonder if they were rock! The other name brand products they sell have had problems too. Boxes of tea that were obviously opened and re-sealed, other products shipped in shopworn condition suggesting they were old or previous returns... and of course the products that came with an expiration date within a few months - not enough time to finish the product before expiring. No point in speaking with their customer service or product specialists - they simply do not want to know. It seems the robotic answers they give are encouraged by the Swanson management. I left two unfavorable reviews about products that I thought were substandard and they were never published. They did however publish the favorable reviews I wrote. THE LAST STRAW: I had ordered two bottles of a Swanson product, an item I use all the time, When I opened the first bottle to use, it contained capsules that were literally so hard I could not crush them with a pestil. It wasn't all the capsules but at least half. I gave Swanson the benefit of the doubt, thinking it was an anomaly and opened the second bottle hoping for a better batch but found this bottle was the same. I returned them to Swanson with a note about the product's unsatisfactory condition - only to hear back from their returns department 5 WEEKS LATER that they were not going to refund me because I opened both bottles. They would not even consider that they were both faulty. They simply would not stand by the guarantee of their own Swanson product because I had opened both bad bottles. I was told that the second bottle was no longer re-sellable because I opened it. Can you believe that? They would rather that someone else purchase that bad bottle than to have it returned for being sustandard and refunded. I don't know if Swanson has been taken over by another company or not but IMO they've changed for the worse on a couple of different levels. I don't think they really care anymore about customer satisfaction or the quality of their products, like they did before. No pride... Too bad. read more

Swanson has a great selection of products at really good prices, but the shipping is horrible. We took advantage of the St. Patrick's Day sale on March 17th and ordered several products. Our order isn't scheduled to arrive until March 28th. I placed an order for organic baby formula for my infant son after speaking to a Swanson representative who assured me that it would reach the destination in Canada w/in 10 business days. The order was placed on October 10th, 2016 and it was not shipped until October 13th. I am a first time customer. I ordered a product on Wednesday and paid for expedited shipping for Friday. I tracked my package and realized I wouldn't take delivery until the following Monday. I immediately called a customer service manager and was told there was a 12 noon cutoff for 2 day shipping. I escalated and they overnighted a package to me. i've been dealing with swansons for maybe 15 yrs. i forget how long. some time ago, they changed ownership, which is probably why the service and procedures and rules have deteriorated, before they had a one year return policy and it took about a month or so to get the money back on your card. then suddenly, without notice, they changed to a 30 day return policy. at first i thought this applied to opened bottles that had to be returned with postage- paid labels, but still had to go to the post office. then the automatic voice on the phone says only unopened bottles can be returned within 30 days, which leaves only 3 weeks cos it takes about a week to arrive to california. compare with life extension's return policy: you just need to call life ext if something dint work for you, and they ask if you want cr or return money to your card, and process it immediately. it just takes a few days for your bank or card co to post it. also, they made several mistakes in a row, re one large order...with shipping and wrong cancellations, and delayed drawing the money from my 2 cards that i used. ordered nov 30. had to call after about 14+ days to ask where my order is,they daid the card was declined, but it wasnt, cos i checked my available credit before i used 2 cards. they had told me before, and was on my file, that they should call me rather than email me, if any problem, but they just emailed me and i didnt get it, so long dalay til i caleed them, when they told me card was declined. it couldnt have been. then they promised to send me most of the order, except for 2 bottles, by 2 day free shipping. didnt happen. called again and they said it didnt ship. i forget why. then they shipped 2 separate boxes on one day overnight shipping. received these, but one product still hasnt arrived by today, dec 29...month after ordering, and they said the order for this last remaining product was cancelled without notification or reason. when i first called today, once again i got a girl in the phillipines who couldnt speak good english and firt she said the remaining product was delivered dec 19. had me hold on a long time several times, then said no, it was delivered to a place in pensylvania for me to go pick up. i said that's not possible cos it's 3.000 miles across the country from me. why did they send it there? then hold on for another long time, and she coes back and says that product was cancelled. oi vey! iwas getting very irritated an impatient. and she spoke very slowly. finally after a long time, i asked for a supervisor. she said they are in fargo where the office was closed due to bad weather, and i need to call monday. today is friday. she said they're closed tomorrow saturday, when they usually are open, & the supervisors stay only til 5pm. it was late night. i asked for the fargo ph# which she took a long time to find and also a long time to very slowly give it to me. i had to keep saying talk faster please. after saying the supervisors arent there now and that the while office in fargo is closed, i called the fargo office and it was open and found that the supervsor was available. i complained to her about the philipino girl's bad english and wrong info and gross inefficiency, telling me 3 different reasons about my not receiving my last package. the supe was very nice and ended up giving me an extra product worth $19+ and confirmed that that product was cancelled. she said she'd ship it out monday, by overnight delivery and i'd get it wednesday cos tuesday is new years day. we shall see!! she was nice and tried to give me some justice, with a free product and free fast shipping. they didn't tell me that one product was backordered, and a lot of screw-ups happened. and the supe said my cr card was only charged a day or 2 ago, and about a week or more after i received the first 3 partial shipments. she could see a reason why, but was very obliging and nice. so, i'm seriously considering buying more supps fropm life extension, and vitacost, who give 60 or 90 days return policy. also, i had been getting swanson emails with discount prices for many years. suddenly when i asked what my current discount is, she said, my email newsletters had been cancelled. i never cancelled them. so she started them up again. i'm still considering divorcing swansons. they used to be good, but no more. too may complaints now , probably because of the new owner's new rules and the culture there isn't as good as it was. the service is worse. takes longer to answer phones. also they used to be open 24 hours every day, then they changed to closing midnight central time and closed sundays. and we never used to get people who don't speak good english when we call the phillipines. i like philipino people, but they should not have a phone person who doesn't know how to read or speak english properly. i suggested they give her a job in another department. it happened twice during these 29 days when called many times. also read more

I was very attracted by the price for Organic Germanium by Swanson and decided to order on-line from this place, based on mostly decent reviews. I payed with PayPal , so did not have any problems while placing the order or receiving the product: it was shipped almost the next day. But my disappointment was, that the Claimed to be Organic Germanium did not have USDA certification, neither the country of the manufacturer. In the ingredients it is listed as 42% elemental germanium .Swanson is listed as a distributor. I assume that if the organic product is made and distributed by the US company, it has to be USDA certified. I can understand that some organic products may have a different certification, if they are made in a different country, but there is no information where and by who it was made. There are 2 signs on the label: "vegetarian formula" and "guaranteed purity and potency" which still do not allow to call the product "organic" Being already very sceptical about the product, I still decided to try and to my surprise it acted in a very strange and unusual way. Germanium is a very powerful mineral and it regularly gives me relief right away. This product effected my body in a quite opposite way: increased inflammation. I had even a rash and to my biggest fear pain in my healthy heart. Together with this I had a bad headache and nauseating sensation. It is definitely not pure as it is claimed to be, and full of toxins to my assumption. I stopped taking it immediately and called it a waist of money. Now they advertise Organic Germanium from NutriCology as their new product ( the one I regularly took before and was very happy about), and though the price is very good I can't trust them any more. Been a customer for decades. Like watching a snowball going downhill. Lee Swanson has sold the company out to a venture capital group (or some such). Lee Swanson now a 'consultant'. And the company is a Mess: 1) I have kept a copy of every receipt for the past year+. Sneaky price increases - as much as 30% in four months - are common. 2) Game playing with free shipping - after promo discount I was 27 cents short to qualify for free shipping and they refused to process order unless I ordered more (did not need more! - ordered from Vitacost). 3) They are running a company that ships millions of $$$ in product all over the world like a mom and pop grocery store. No customer service/phone orders on Sundays or major holidays "to give employees time with their families". That's nice but is an imposition on people who work all week and want to order vitamins on Sunday/holidays. People shop the net on Sundays and holidays!! It's called internet commerce. 4) They have outsourced their call center to Guatemala. I have had the misfortune of dealing with those representatives approximately 25% of the time. Garbled speech, inability to understand a question, providing information that is downright wrong, making a total mess of an order - just hang up, dial back and keep your fingers crossed. They had a promo for $.99 shipping and and extra 10% of the already low price so I decided to order 6 jars. After ordering I saw on Yelp that delivery was slow. I prepared myself that it would be a while before it arrived and it's not likely to spoil during long shipping so it wasn't that big of a deal. I was completely shocked when it came in 2 days! Unless I had a rather unlucky experience, Swanson is a very dishonest company. I called and specifically asked them to check if they had the old or new version of a supplement, they assured me it was the old to make a big sale (50 bottles). Sure enough, they hadn't checked. I called and two days later claimed the product hadn't changed (even though the manufacturer's website admits it has in the FAQ). I returned the product. Nearly two months (and several calls) later, they finally issued a partial refund, falsely claiming I only returned part of the order (also didn't refund shipping). I have been a frequent customer of Swanson for over 10 years. My husband and I each have several health conditions that we like to try and help naturally to avoid taking a lot of prescriptions and have a better quality of life. We usually have a large Swanson order at least once and sometimes twice a month. I was concerned when the family that had started and owned this company for many years, was bought out by another firm. The transition seemed a mildly rocky and, for the most part, the same great service has continued. Their prices are exceptional. Rarely will you find a better deal. I can only think of half a dozen instances when we bought a different brand than Swanson. Have all of our transactions been perfection? Of course not. They are owned by people, run by people and we customers are taken care of by people. So, mistakes will happen. But, without exception, every single time we have had a problem with an order or a product, they have done everything possible to make it right. Because of a chronic illness that does not respond well to pharmaceuticals, my M.D. works with me to treat it naturally but there have been times when I would be very ill and low-functioning for months with new problems. This would mean treating a brand new set of symptoms and conditions that arose, which meant trying a lot of different supplements and herbs. As I began to recover, I would have BOXES of supplements that did not help - from many different orders - we're talking sometimes hundreds of dollars worth. I tried to keep the packing invoices straight, but frequently I could not find all of them. On two separate occasions I have just packed them up with as many invoices as I could find, sent them back to the company and begged their mercy in sorting it out. There were usually different forms of payment, depending on whether I or my husband ordered, so they sometimes had to credit multiple billing forms...and they had to scan each item to figure out which order it came from. Neither time did they penalize me, send me a letter to tell me they couldn't honor the returns, or fail to credit our accounts. The only items they could not accept were those that exceeded the date by which I could return them. I often contact their customer service to inquire about additional info or ask specific questions about the quality of a product. They sometimes go to great effort to locate the information and have even contacted the doctors or chemists who formulated a product. I would guess that I have ordered from Swanson about 200 times in the last 10+ years and only once did I have to contact them about an order that had not arrived. They immediately replaced it and when it arrived, I discovered that the original order had come but was put in a different place. So, it was my mistake. Admittedly, there are a few of their products that I can find slightly cheaper on Amazon and if I need them ASAP, Amazon is faster without an additional shipping charge. But their return policies cannot usually compete with the liberal return policies offered by Swanson. My only disappointment in Swanson is that, when looking for a specific product brand and formula, their website can be frustrating. If it is not entered in a very specific way (that sometimes doesn't seem logical), it will not find that product - even if you've been ordering it for years and have entered it every conceivable way you can imagine. I can always contact customer service and they will help me or I can look up the product # on a past invoice, but that is inefficient and needs improvement. I think I can accurately say that, if I had not had Swanson all these years, I would not be here - and possibly my husband would not still be kicking at the age of 70. Swanson rocks. read more

Swansons has great prices. What is lacking is an up-to-date system for ordering products. I ordered 6 cans of protein powder, and it said "In stock", and I paid for it. Five days later nothing had shipped. I called and inquired and they told me "it's on backorder" and when I explained that the website had listed it as "in stock" both the representative and the supervisor shrugged it off. They said that's just how it is and they have 3 warehouses across the country and there apparently is no way to keep their system up to date with stock on hand. "We're not Amazon" is what they said. The products are good but the people you can reach in customer service don't know what they are doing. I ordered over $50 worth of product at the start of the Memorial Day Weekend and when I got to the final step on the order I saw that they were still charging me for shipping. Before pressing complete order I called the 800 number and explained what I was seeing. The lady said she fixed it and to go ahead and press place order. I did and the receipt they sent me still showed the shipping charge. I called back immediately and was assured it was fixed and I wouldn't be charged. I chalked it up to holiday weekend and figured I would get the email the following week. I was wrong. Called again and was told it was fixed. Then I start getting emails that my $95 dollar charge didn't clear and I should contact them immediately. I called said cancel everything including my info in their customer base. I spoke to a women who said she wanted to go through my entire order item by item to figure out what I had ordered. They didn't know what I had ordered??? More emails saying my charge didn't clear. Then on Saturday I got a letter from them that was worded in a threatening manner that felt as though I would next be contacted by lawyers. Thank God I paid for the order with PayPal and PayPal refused to increase and or double the total amount on the invoice. If I had put it on my credit card I may not have caught the doubling of the amount. They don't know what they are doing and if they have your credit card information who knows what they will do with it. I didn't get one single apology for how badly they screwed things up. I called again tonight. The guy who answered said he was at the main office in ND. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor. He wouldn't connect me. I am a repeat customer of Swanson Vitamins residing in Australia ( I have made multiple purchases over the past 12 months) this meant NOTHING when I made my last order, which happened to be a very nice discounted offer (hmmm ) and all of a sudden they want me to provide credit card information to confirm my address, my card number or a authorisation number of the purchase ?? What the ?? When i questioned this (as it didn't sound right) they had a response which stated they needed to confirm my address etc and it was simple to do !! NO, NO its not and NO, NO I will not !! There is a simple solution to this problem which they don't seem t be able to offer its customers residing outside the US which is to have PAYPAL as a payment option !!SIMPLE .... they are taking this feedback on board( standard response one gets the feeling) My advise to you all is to look around be careful what information you are requested to provide and go to a business that appreciates repeat customers and does not change its process on a whim ! I ordered NOW Magnesium Citrate 500 MG 3 times a day. I received NOW Magnesium Citrate 400 MG 3 times a day. I called and they offered to send me the correct item. I told them don't because I live in a rural area and it is too difficult to get to the post office to return items. They sent me new ones anyway. Again I received the 400 MG, not the 500 MG. They stated that I ordered the 500 MG and received the 500 MG. Don't order it because you will receive the 400 MG as NOW has not made the 500 MG for over a year now. I found out by contacting NOW. I have nothing to show for my order except the CSR telling me I'm a liar. They refunded me all but the $4.99 shipping fee. I have nothing to show for my trouble with them, except I'm out $4.99 and they lie about everything and the customer is always wrong. Keep your money and don't do business with them. If you put in the correct order number you get the 400 MG. Bad business. The person receiving the return should have seen clearly on the bottles that it was not the 500 MG that was sent. read more

A portion of my order was on backorder so Swanson chose to automatically cancel a portion of my order. The only reason I ordered from Swanson was to claim a $25 off of $125 coupon. So, because THEY cancelled a portion of my order because THEY couldn't fulfill it, my order total fell below $125. At this point, they should have also notified me that I would lose the $25 coupon. They did not. Fortunately I watch my finances very closely, and called to ask if this would happen. I was told that I would lose the $25 coupon, and that Swanson's accounting department would charge $25 to my AmEx card. This is HIGHLY UNETHICAL. THIS IS A SCAM. IF THEY ARE GOING TO CANCEL A PORTION OF MY ORDER AND THEN CANCEL A COUPON, WHICH WAS ALL THEIR FAULT, THEY SHOULD NOTIFY ME OF THIS. INSTEAD THIS SHODDY BUSINESS TRIED TO SCAM ME OUT OF $25 BY NOT INFORMING ME AT ALL. WHAT A SCAM! GOOD RIDDANCE.
