Assumed it was part of the cost of the visit. GOT A $700 bill of which I was responsible for $525 out of pocket. Are you serious??? A Covid and Flu test swab up the nose cost me $525? Dr. Lang did not ONCE mention (hey labs may be super expensive OR maybe only get them if you're really concerned). Honestly, it feels dishonest. I tried calling the office to talk to NP Layug. They never got me to her. Sent me to some general and unhelpful line. Negative 5 stars. Compared to Kaiser, Sutter is a mess.

As always, greeted warmly by the front desk staff. Waited less than five minutes to be called for initial evaluation, Short wait for X-rays and Mark, the provider, reduced my dislocation in a matter of minutes. Professional, respectful, and all the staff I came into contact with very friendly. What a well run clinic and as I have said in the past, we are so fortunate to have this high caliber emergency medical care available in our community. My 2nd visit about a week later for a different medical situation was great again at the front desk. However, this time I had a different MD: a male MD. This MD examined the area of concern and suggested 2 over the counter medicines to use for the next few days. His manner of interacting with me was overly friendly, inappropriate . Although this care center is not a Kaiser center, it does accept Kaiser-covered patients. I am grateful for that. With over 35.+ years of Kaiser Medical office visits, no male MD from Kaiser has ever interacted with me in a way that felt too friendly or inappropriate. I most certainly will go back to this urgent care location; all the other personnel were great, but I will choose to see another MD.

She was kind, compassionate, and honest about the fact that it would still hurt a bit even with the numbing medication because of how infected it was. I had a great experience here. I had an MRI of the brain…read morelasting just under 40 minutes with IV contrast. This facility is the only one in Sutter in our area that has an ultrasound and nurse on staff for visualizing veins for the IV insertion. I asked! As soon as I was dressed in the hospital gown, Carly was the nurse who ably, quickly, and painlessly put in the IV line in a couple minutes. She had a competent and kind nature. I was very grateful as my MRI in February required 9 tries with lots of pokes and 45 minutes for a successful IV placement-all this happened while I was in the head cage midway through the MRI and I had to remain still. A bit of trauma remains from that experience. Jim was the MRI technician and he was no-nonsense, reassuring, professional, and all around excellent. The 3T MRI machine at this location was super comfortable and the head cage which keeps your head still was ample in size compared to others I've been in. The comfort factor of the machine was excellent. They had a film playing nature scenes and a radio station selection which helped to distract me. The MRI experience was 5/5 Signage to the imagining center was so poor we had to drive in a circle to find the suite which added unnecessary stress for a time sensitive check in. We followed the arrows but were led astray. Imaging is at the very front- and there are two separate imaging suites to top it off. There are three different medical entities in three very large multi suite adjacent buildings- Kaiser, Sutter, and UC Davis. It was also confusing to leave the imaging center to the lobby after getting dressed...again, better signs would help a lot. You are a bit confused after some of these tests.

At the time of this review, walk in patients are not allowed until 8 am (the facility opens at 4:45…read moream). I arrived ten minutes before 8, was checked in, and told I had an hour wait. I was finally seen at 9:30 (all those Urgent Care patients again....) So the key is to show up very early (on a weekday, btw) and bring a good book. The poor technician was rushing around like crazy. I was assigned Dr. Roy Harris as my PCP. Although I prefer to have a female PCP, I was okay with scheduling all of my appointments with his NP Janina. She was awesome, but eventually moved out of state. I then scheduled with NP Wendy and was happy for the most part with the care I received. At around the time she retired, the practice brought a female MD on board. I thought, "Great, I can finally have a female MD as my PCP!" Her profile described her as exactly the doctor I had been waiting for. When I called the office to schedule an annual physical with her, I was told NO because Dr. Harris was my PCP. I told the scheduler that I was not comfortable with a male performing a physical and asked to change my PCP to Dr. Michelle Do. I was told that had to be "approved" by someone named Cynthia in the office and I would receive a call back later that day. While awaiting the call back (which never happened), I started reading reviews online and was appalled by the multiple negative reviews of Dr. Harris specifically. At that point, I was not just uncomfortable with having a male PCP, but with him being my PCP. It took two more calls to the office that week to ultimately be told by Cynthia that I could NOT change my PCP assignment. It did not matter to her that in 10 years, I had never had one appointment with him or that I was completely uncomfortable with him. She claimed the practice has a policy about switching doctors. When I asked for the policy via my patient portal, she admitted that there was nothing in writing. Anyone in health care knows that if it is not in writing, then it doesn't exist. She was incredibly rude and dismissive. By the end of my phone call, the scheduler Roberta and Queen Cynthia confirmed the following: If I were a brand new patient, then I could choose Dr. Do as my PCP. Because I was already a patient, I no longer had a choice. (Whichever PCP a patient starts with is who they are stuck with.) If I wanted an annual physical with a female, then I could schedule with a nurse practitioner or physician's assistant. The female MD in their office was not a choice for me simply because my assigned PCP was Dr. Harris. Their supposed "policy" of not allowing patients to change their PCP is completely disrespectful. Brand new patients have a choice but established patients do not. Their website claims to "deliver personalized health care" and that their "philosophy is to provide individualized care", yet they will not allow patients to have a say in who provides their care. Horrible business model.

He made an unprofessional comment after confirming that I had a C-section, saying it made me a "real woman." That was inappropriate and hurtful. Especially given my birth trauma that resulted in the section. He made some other hurtful comments about other issues during the exam. He did say, I hope you don't take offense so he understands some level of social protecol. His manner throughout the appointment was also extremely awkward. His responses felt delayed and disconnected, which made it hard to feel confident in his care. Overall, the visit felt impersonal and more focused on billing and routine checkboxes than on individualized medicine. I left feeling uncomfortable and unseen and will be going elsewhere.
