C&F is a good solid cafe for if you live in or around Beecroft or like to be able to buy kid clothes with your big breakfast. The coffee is Gabriel brand, the ingredients are fresh and you'll find all your old cafe favourites like BLAT, hotcakes and ricotta on fruit toast. Prices are pretty standard for the area, around $20-25 per person. Make no mistake, there will be kids so don't go here if you're the cantankerous type. There is a little reading corner, shelves of toys for your kids to pester you into buying and clothes so cute they'll make you want to reproduce.

As a parent I noticed a few things straight away. This place is focused on mum's with kids. The kids menu is nearly as long as the regular menu. They also have a mini bench with mini chairs for mini people (at said bench are pots of pencils that seem to have coloured a great proportion of the wall). The coffee here was great. A little over espressed (and thus a little burnt and bitter), but seriously just a tad (don't forget, I really am a picky bastard). I don't recall having drunk Di Gabriel coffee before, but it was enjoyable. Getting back to the primary focus of this cafe, mums with kids, I am sure they would be happy this cafe uses a range of loose leaf T2 tea. And for the kids, the babychinos expressly come with marshmellows (which more cafes should really do! Some places charge $2 for a small glass of milk!!). Everyone coming in seems to be on a first name basis with Scott, who does a great job on the old espresso machine. The cafe has the same laid back feel Scott brings, with a backing track of smooth jazz. Has freshly baked rolls, sliced bread, sweets such as tarts, brownies, slices, cakes you name it! They also serve freshly made pork, chicken or salad rolls! It was so dry and overcooked that it had absolutely no flavour left. Their sago gulaman is way too sweet as well. My friend claims the tinapa rice was really good but I haven't had the chance to try it yet. The place is small so be prepared to wait if you come for lunch or dinner on a weekend. The all day breakfast silog meals are appropriately priced at $12/$13 while the mains start from $16. Pretty good value if you ask me.

Also there is a flower shop next door and the Lilies, Banksias and Kangaroo Paws line the shop where the indoor tables are. The fresh fish looks good. They have cuttlefish, snapper, prawns, salmon... a decent selection. To give you an idea of prices the special of the day were snapper fillets for $38.99. Take away menu is pretty comprehensive. There are of course fish and chips with a can of drink ($10.50) plus burgers, sandwiches, kids sushi ($4 for some avocado and cucumber bites) and fresh assorted seafood salads ($5.50 for a small). Coffee is Belaroma and my mocha was sweet but pretty good. The staff are friendly.
