This was a interesting place to grab lunch. My business associates wanted come here for lunch since we all enjoy sushi. It wasn't anything like I expected. We choose a table to the side which was so wobbly. It was hard to eat and keep the table level - thankfully sushi are small bites. The waiter came and took our drink order - he wasn't the best but managed ok. To serve yourself you made your way to the train to take the sushi you wanted. Sadly there were no labels on the plates so it was a guessing game. The only one that had a label was the T.N.T - which had a sign very very very very spicy. Don't get me wrong it was spicy but I thought it was more on the moderate side. It had the heat that snuck up on you after a minute. I did enjoy it! The price of the sushi was determined by the color of the plate that you chose. I took a few different colored plates and there was nothing that I chose that I didn't like. I also chose a side order of Salmon Roe & Flying Fish eggs. I knew my party would be reluctant to order but they are two of my favorites so they had to try. Only one was worthy of actually trying and eating. I know it's not for everyone but still happy they tried. It's a worthty place to try . . . at least once.

My eldest daughter wanted to get sushi for her birthday and asked to go to Sushi Train. None of us had ever been there before so I was looking to have a new experience. I am not one to really eat sushi but I did try some tonight. We got seated quickly and got our drink orders served fast as well. Our food orders were a little sporadic when they brought them out to us. Everyone enjoyed their food. I got the Philly roll which was smoked salmon, avocado and cream cheese. As my entrée, I got the chicken teriyaki with fried rice. It was a nice meal. As a personal preference I am not a sushi fan so I don't think I will be back for a while. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and we all had an enjoyable time.

Stopped by on a weekday afternoon and thankfully it wasn't too packed (but they'd filled up by the time I left.) Was greeted immediately and told to grab any table I liked. The server was nice enough to give me a rundown as a first timer. I was sat at the furthest back booth closest to the kitchen. This is the ideal spot for getting first dibs on the sushi train. The prices of the plates ranged from $3-5. The variety was alright. There were quite a few deep fried rolls as options, but I personally prefer raw rolls. The few raw rolls on the train were pretty basic. They have over 20 rolls on the menu and even more off menu; which your welcome to order if the train's not doing it for you. The sushi's not the highest grade sushi, but it's pretty good for the price. I got 3 plates off the train, salmon and eel nigiri, plus a soda which came to $27. I considered getting more, but was comfortably full. The flavors were on point. The nigiri kind of fell apart, but the salmon and eel tasted great. I would definitely go back for a cheap sushi outing, solo or with friends.

I went here on a Friday at 5:30 and it was a little busy but nothing crazy. They did seem to have a lot of to go orders. Sadly, I sat down and order just two things and it took a very long time for them to come. The train only had a few rolls and they weren't really refilling it so there were not a lot of options. My water and miso soup came out fast but my two rolls I ordered took a long time and one of them, I saw the guy making and when he finished, he didn't give one to me so I had to ask and explain that was the role I ordered. The food is always okay, Not bad but also not great. For the price I can definitely get better.

So strong two but our friend said you gotta order the plate. We didn't bc we wanted sushi but his meat plate looked good.... now the sushi... pretty decent and tasty but I hate to say there was a lot sitting out and it wasn't chilled... not saying we got sick but it was fresh and it wasn't horrible. The train is cool but you can order what you want. We did order a roll and it was on par with what was rolling around....

I've been a Sushi Train customer for more than 15 years! It's definitely a must-stop if you're in or passing through Tulsa, OK. Yes, the building is dated inside and out and doesn't offer much confidence in terms of curb appeal or interior charm, however don't let that deter you. the menu is huge with seemingly endless Sushi rolls! If making decisions isn't your strong point, don't worry! Just pull up a stool at the bar, or take a seat near the train track and watch the train go by with a variety of sushi rolls in tow! Just grab a sushi plate that looks good on the train as it goes by! A neat and fun experience! - The staff is friendly, the food is typically consistently good. While the sushi can be delicious, don't forget to try their Chicken Yakitori. You won't be disappointed!

Ask the Community - Sushi Train

Can you sit at a table and still grab off the train?

Yes, whatever you grab off of the train, please do not put anything back on the train. Set lids and tags on the outside of the tables. The servers would pass by and pick them up without interrupting you while eating or your conversations. -Chino

There are claw machines at the front and back and sketchbooks with colored pencils on every table so you can draw while waiting for your food. The service is friendly - you order at the front counter and get a buzzer that buzzes when your food is ready at the pickup counter. The boba drinks are good. They have a decent selection of milk teas and fruit drinks as well as toppings. The boba pearls are done right, freshly made so they are soft and chewy like they're supposed to be. Once I ordered popping boba on accident (honey boba on the menu) thinking it was regular boba sweetened with honey and did not like it. They graciously switched it out with regular boba for me which I truly appreciated. My one recommendation would be to adjust the sweetness level if you prefer lighter drinks. The last time I visited I forgot to ask and it was a bit on the sweet side for me. I've also ordered poke and teriyaki bowls from them before and it was ok. The food was fine, it just didn't stand out to me. I usually come here for the drinks but would give the food another try given the good service and atmosphere. They have ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers like chicken karaage and kimchi fries. Overall I'd recommend Gung Ho as a solid hangout spot that's centrally located with good drinks and plenty of food options.

I love that they have these incredible egg sandwiches as well as real deal Korean corn dogs. If you've never experienced a Korean corn dog it's very different than an American corn dog because you can get sweet potato or regular potato on the outside or you can just get the really crispy outside batter. then they have all these sauces or cinnamon sugar that you can sprinkle on your corn dog and it just makes it that much better. I went with the classic, it gave me the idea of this spot & to try just about every option on the menu. The Classic was coated & fried to perfection. Light & crispy, made for dipping (you can get up to 3 cups for sauces). As I was waiting for the order to be ready, there were numerous condiments to choose from like chili, sriracha, garlic... I went with the sriracha & the chili. I enjoyed both sauces, I like to try chili sauces by the restaurant & theirs is the way I like it. The wait didn't take long at all, especially with me having a Mochinut to hold me over. I went with cinnamon sugar, which is something I'd usually go for anywhere to let me know how good to other flavors will be. All of the flavors caught my eye & there were plenty to choose from (like mango & blueberry to name a couple). Outside of those selections I made, there's another thing they're known for, they egg toast. The Teriyaki one is the one I might have to try first. The staff was nice. As if all that wasn't enough, they also have slushes.

Unfortunately, on my last recent visit, the food had sharply declined in quality. Others had told me it had declined the last year or so, but obviously I had to try it myself. They clearly changed the lo mein recipe A LOT. It used to be my favorite lo mein on the planet, now it's so painfully average you could get the same lo mein anywhere else. The vegetables and tofu also weren't as flavorful, not was the kung pao chicken. The sesame chicken was still pretty good, as were the egg rolls. I'm BEGGING you all to please bring back the old lo mein recipe and go back to what you were doing before. There's a reason you survived in that cursed strip mall for so long while so many other businesses failed.
