    fishy salmon :'(

I've been meaning to check out Sushi Susie and finally had the chance recently. As much as I wanted to try their AYCE menu, we were short on time and decided to go with the lunch special instead. It wasn't listed on the dine-in menu, but after asking, they showed us the takeout menu where the special was available. We each got 3 rolls for $14.95, which was honestly a great deal. Between the two of us, we tried the salmon avocado roll, eel cucumber roll, Alaska roll, Boston roll, shrimp tempura roll, and spider roll. Shrimp tempura roll was my favorite which usually don't even make it to my order when I order sushi lol. Each combo also came with either soup or salad. The service was fine, but the sushi itself was pretty average. The rolls had a lot of rice, which normally wouldn't bother me for a non-AYCE meal, but the rice itself didn't really taste like sushi rice. Instead of being light, slightly tangy, and flavorful, it was dense and heavy. The biggest disappointment was the salmon avocado roll. The salmon tasted fishy, and after each trying a piece, we couldn't touch it. We didn't mention it to the staff since we were in a rush, but we ended up throwing our lerftovers away. I was really excited to try this newer AYCE spot, but after this visit, I'll probably stick to my usual sushi spots instead.

New place that's great. A la carte or ayce buffet. Only $30 for dinner. $25 for lunch. Outstanding items: All the nigri sushi. I had eel, salmon, white tuna etc. Seared tuna Takoyaki Miso soap Seaweed salad All the ice cream, fried bananas, vanilla & oreo cookies (mix them all) Items to pass: Shrimp tempura. Batter is just panko, skip this Oysters fried, pasta, batter isn't good Red dragon roll. Not very tasty Green tea is just ok Great service & ambiance is ok, nicer than a lot of ayce but not upscale for sure, very casual. Overall: definitely a place worth trying. Parking is easy in a strip mall.

My husband and I met some friends at Sushi Susie on Valentine's Day. While the restaurant wasn't decorated for the occasion, I did fall in love with the food. First we started with appetizers. We got the miso soup, crab ragoon, and salads, but my favorite was the tuna paper. It was my first time having this but it's worth a trip back just for this item! We then ordered nine sushi rolls and sashimi and it came on a big boat. The sushi was good and fresh but was not as sauced as I'm used to. You taste much more of the fish than the sauces and other flavorings. The desserts at Asian restaurants are normally an afterthought. But not at Sushi Susie. The fried banana tasted very much like a regular banana but the fried oreos were something special. Make sure you save some room at the end of your meal.

I was looking for an ayce sushi place in the area. Found out about this place and decided to try. Located in a plaza in Deerfield with plenty of parking. We were welcomed upon arrival. You can opt for the regular menu or the all you can eat. We did the all you can eat dinner at $29.99. Lot of options. A couple of appetizers we go were miso soup, seaweed salad, house salad, crab ragoons and shrimp tempura. All were very good. Entree wise, we ordered a couple of nigiris which I loved and one roll each. Kinda over estimated on how much. But worth it. Dessert, we opted for the fried Oreos. Came out fresh and hot. Overall, everything was pretty good.

Miso soup. Way too salty for me

A nice go-to AYCE sushi alternative in the Deerfield area. Their menu and roll selection was great. I ordered the rainbow roll which was good. It's my hack whenever I go to a sushi place because it usually showcase several types of fish like tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. Sushi came out pretty quickly and the service was great.

Overall a decent sushi place. The one bad thing is that there is a significant amount of rice. A lot more than a lot of the AYCE places we have been to more recently. The rice was decently cooked yet just too much of it and probably also because for the nigiri the fish was on the thinner end too for the thickness. We first got the rolls we ordered and the first set of rolls were nice with the right amount of fish to rice and seaweed combination. The second batch of rolls we ordered had smaller pieces of fish and hence more rice too. The typical small fish rolls with the single fish was a regular sized roll and not the smaller type of rolls you see at other locations. The scallop nigiri was more one scallop ever so thinly sliced and covering the top of two normal sized pieces of rice. Service was decent, the place was not busy at all when we arrived and by the time we finished it was decently filled.

Wow, what an amazing gem! Such delicious sushi. And they offer it All You Can Eat. The pieces were large with generous amounts of fresh fish. They also offer some unique options I have never seen before, like a Fried Banana Roll. Personally, I really liked the nigiri type pieces, specifically the white tuna and the salmon. So good. I will for sure be coming back soon.

Really good food, gem of a place. They just opened up where Wakaba used to be. We did the AYCE, and it did not disappoint as the Sushi quality was very high. I can be picky with sushi especially because it is raw, but it tasted very fresh. Service was great as well. We will definitely be back!!

The highest quality sushi in town! The owner, Susie, is so friendly and knowledgeable about all the food she has. Service is amazing! Fish is super fresh and sushi is amazing, they all look incredibly pretty and tasty, even for ayct!

The sushi was pretty mediocre, but it's cheap. The AYCE option would be good for a family, but not a great spot if you love sushi.

Everything is packed nicely, and even their packages of nori taste better. This is a fun dish for a party (everyone will ask you where you got it) or even just to treat yo self.

It requires a bit of planning ahead for dinner, but well worth it since it's one of the few meals that my entire family enjoys. It's basically a big box of rice and crab filling. You heat it in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Scoop it into seaweed, which the kiddos find super fun...and you've got yourself an easy and healthyish dinner. We've tried both the regular and spicy and all prefer the regular. One large + one small is perfect for my family of 5 and we always have enough for leftovers the next day...and it tastes just as good a day later. I've been told it's extra good if you slice up cucumbers and avocado to add to it, but even that requires too much prep for me and it's been tasty enough on it's own. We've had it twice over the last few weeks and everyone enjoyed so much that I plan to make it part of our regular dinner routine.

However, since fellow Yelp Elite friend Howard L. recommended BluFish to me, I had mentally put it on my to-try list for a while. Recently, both my husband and I decided to give it a try, and it did live up to the hype! Although the restaurant looked smaller in real life, it was chic and modern looking. We made a reservation for 2 on the same day on a Wednesday, a couple of popular time slots had been filled. When we went at 6:00 pm, the restaurant was bustling. We were promptly led to a 2-person table in the open dining room. My seat had the nice view of the sushi-making station, which was super busy. There was an area with all high-back booths, which seated 4 each. Our area was quite loud, fortunately, my husband and I could still hear each other. Our server, Kassie, was very pleasant, sweet, knowledgeable, and attentive. She truly contributed a lot to a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. For appetizer, I was going to order Crab Cakes, but changed my mind after learning that even with the wasabi sauce put on the side, the crab cakes would still be spicy hot. I ordered an order of Takoyai ($9)(six pieces) instead and shared that with my husband. It came out piping hot and was cooked just right, with a light and crispy skin and perfect texture. Just delicious! My husband ordered a Chilean Seabass entrée ($36) which had a generous portion. I was interested in getting some sushi rolls. You can pick long or short. Kassie answered my question that long was about 8 to 10 pieces, while short being 5 to 6 pieces. I ordered one long and one short to get some more variety, understanding that it would be too much food for the two of us. I ordered the long Green Turtle ($18) -- one of my all-time favorites, and a short Smoky Bear ($14). Everything was delicious, even though my husband said that the seabass was slightly overcooked. The ratio of sushi rice to the other ingredients was perfect, and all of that were fresh, tasty and balanced well. I have recommended BluFish to my other family members and relatives. We will definitely be coming back. I would be happy to try more different sushi rolls from their extensive menu.

Not my thing. The takoyaki had a very doughy middle. Shrimp dumplings were semi warm. Entree, we got the chicken teriaki bento box. The bento box had California rolls, seaweed salad, vegetable and shrimp tempura, and white rice. All of it was OK, although definitely not a fan of the seaweed salad.
