We had a tight deadline to complete all of that over the summer while our kids were out of school and we mostly made that happen! There were a lot of ups and downs with both transactions, but Caroline was professional, proactive and on top of it the entire time. She was always available for showings (or having a peer sub in), quick to respond to any and all questions / feedback and all but flew across the country to get multiple updates per day from our buyers' loan officer when there were issues with funding and closing on time. We went from Plan A, to B, to C and maybe Plan D (I honestly lost count of the issues and pivots we had to do) and she kept everything moving forward when it was trying like hell to go sideways again, and again, and again.... I highly recommend Caroline and I am very happy I made that call to the Justin Landis Group. I have already been recommending her to neighbors! Give her a call if you're in need of a real estate agent and ask her about our story for some laughs / drama (bring popcorn!). P.S. The rest of the team was awesome, too: Mari (Visual Coordinator), Matt (Transaction Coordinator) and Jess (Director of Operations). The marketing / photographer for our home was on point -- the Zillow listing (with 3D walkthrough) and printed pamphlets were gorgeous and we got a ton of interest and positive feedback, even from family and friends!

I worked with Caroline to sell my condo and purchase a townhome. As my buyer's agent, she began…read moresending us listings, the bulk of which were not what we were looking for, and outside the criteria we gave her. I had to ask her several times to update the search criteria she used for us, and she never made that update. We wound up finding the townhome we eventually purchased on our own. And when we put in an offer, Caroline put all of her energy into advocating for the seller's interests. I really had to fight with her to get her to accept my offer and subsequent negotiations before she would pass them along to the seller's agent. As far as selling my condo, that was a complete disaster. I regretfully accepted a lowball cash offer that I received from a lottery jackpot winner. Caroline was so desperate for her commission that she offered to cut her commission as part of her way of cajoling me into accepting the offer. I spent too much money preparing the unit for market on her advice, and accepted too little in the sale. Joe Cassar may be a better agent, based on the other reviews that I'm reading of this Realty firm. But if you ever work with Caroline, you should be prepared to receive a lot of bad advice with a combative attitude.

Every single time I felt the stress bubbling up, one phone call to Leah would calm my nerves and remind me that there was nothing to worry about because we were in the best possible hands. From our first showing to closing day and beyond, it was obvious that in addition to her extensive expertise, Leah is genuinely passionate about helping her clients enjoy a smooth and successful home-buying experience. I love how communicative and efficient Leah is. I never had to wonder what was going on because she always kept us in the loop and gave excellent advice throughout the whole process. She has a strong network of reliable contacts for anything you might need from inspectors to movers and everything in between. When logistical issues prevented us from physically making it to the closing on time, Leah jumped in and served as our surrogate by doing a video final walk-through for us and collecting the keys. She then met us at the house with a sweet arrangement of thoughtful gifts and a few essentials that came in very handy after a long day of traveling. Buying a home anywhere is a very stressful process. Buying a home hundreds of miles away from your hometown while trying to sell your current home and juggling the endless logistical challenges of a cross-state move makes regular home-buying stress seem like child's play. The most valuable lesson I learned in this whole process is that you should choose your realtor as carefully as you choose your future home because that one choice can play a huge role in whether your dream home becomes a reality or devolves into more of a nightmare. As I write this review sitting comfortably in my beautiful new home that likely would have slipped through my fingers had I chosen any other agent, I can assure you that Leah Akiki is the dream maker you need in your corner. There is no better real estate professional and nobody else I would ever consider using for my future real estate needs.
