I saw Ruthellen in the West Babylon location. She was unprofessional and disreputable…read more She walked into the building, arriving for work, 5 minutes past my appointment time, said "oh do I have a patient?" and proceeded to chat about Thanksgiving with another employee and settle in for another 15 minutes before shouting down the hall for me to come in-- keep in mind, this was the first time I ever met her, and this is how she greeted a new patient. She recommended that I take walks (even though I just told her that I did), not watch the news (though she did tell me I should be politically aware and made a political statement about the election), and take two showers a day because those things will "elevate my mood." Most egregious--she prescribed Lexapro and Effexor together. These two meds can cause a rare but potentially fatal condition called serotonin syndrome. She did not mention this and let me make an informed decision about the risk, nor did she mention any side effects I should be on the look out for. To me, this borders on malpractice. I switched to another nurse practitioner in different practice, and she was horrified that I was prescribed this combination of meds and immediately took me off one. There are signs all over about payment and not cancelling appointments. This place felt like it was all about the money with no concern for the level of care.

I have been working with Jonathan for the better part of 3 years now and this experience has been…read morelife changing. When I first met with him, I was having a very difficult time in my personal life and was really not sure if therapy would be of any true value to me. However, after a few sessions with Jonathan, I quickly realized the benefits. Jonathan was patient with me, understanding of my situation, and provided me with meaningful feedback with each session. There have been MANY things I don't believe I would have had nearly the success processing and working through without him. Thank you to Jonathan and the rest of the staff at the Center for Psychotherapy for your continued support.

Went in for an appointment one week ago with Jonathan Glickman Psy.D . He seemed nice enough and…read moreafter telling him about myself for 30+ minutes (personal things that I wouldn't feel comfortable telling someone who isn't my doctor) my appointment came to an end and his exact words were "does this time work for you?" To which I responded yes and left after asking the women at the desk if I needed to do anything else. I show up this week at the scheduled time and I'm told by the women at the desk he will be in shortly. I waited over 35 minutes before telling them to call him. I am then told he never put me down for an appointment... the level of incompetence is only rivaled by how uncomfortable I feel that I sat there pouring my heart out, only to now have to begin my search for another therapist. They should know how hard it is for people to seek help and this has been a very discouraging experience for me and a waste of time and money. I wish Jonathan all the best and I hope he works on his scheduling for his future patients.
