My godson (6 years old) chose this spot after coming out of Food Lion where we only went in for him to spend his quarter on a gumball. I'm glad he chose this spot, because not only did they have subs (which he wanted), they also had Bulgogi! It was really good Bulgogi, but the side of kimchi was so good!! My godson got the spicy chicken sub with only chicken & cheese, and he really enjoyed it- he ate almost the entire half, which also came with fries. This is a fabulous little spot on the north end of town to hit. The portions are always plenty and the food is so good. Lunch here every so often is a must. Call ahead for takeout, it's always ready fairly quick as well as always made right. Price points are also great. read more

Went here for lunch today. I got the bulgogee and fried rice with kimchi. I will admit it was a little pricey for lunch BUT it was WELL WORTH IT!!! Total it was $23 but I couldn't eat everything so I have some leftover for lunch for tomorrow. I was stationed in Korea and had bulgogee and I did not enjoy but I love it now lol the fried rice was good. I was a little nervous getting the kimchi but it was amazing. $11 for a piece of bread, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a few slivers of chicken. Food was bland and portions were pathetic. When they first opened there was more meat in one bite than there was on the entire sandwich. I gave it a second chance last night and should have went to Subyway.... that's how bad it was. I highly recommend their Phillip cheese steaks and their Korean Bulgogi. Both are among the best. Both are very flavorful and will keep you looking for more. Disappointing. Rumors told me this place was amazing so, admittedly, I had my bar set high. But, I ordered the Bulgogee Sub and fries. Really, nothing to write home about. BUT....BUT....they do have potential. Not sure if this is a new buz or not, but the meat was amazingly good. The problem is that there wasn't much on the sub and they're charging me $10 for it. Either overcharge me for something good or lower the prices. It's always a bad sign when you go in for the first bite and lettuce pops out and all you taste is bread, then that says it all. Lettuce always hides the lack of meat/cheese, the more a place puts on it, the less you are getting for your money. The bread was okay. The meat was awesome, but so little of it. I also got fries. Absolutely NO salt. But, if you notice on the menu that they charge you for "seasoned" fries. Don't waste your money - they are fresh cut fries, but you can put your own seasoning on it. There are certain things I refuse to be charged for....don't charge me for seasoning on fries. I'll give them one more try - if it's great, they get a star, if they don't, they lose a star. I absolutely love their Bulgogee sub!! I've only been there twice but I'm very impressed. The meat was tender and full of flavor and the bread was soft with just the right consistency. My partner got the cheesesteak and loved it also. I had the Bulgogee over fried rice last time and did not enjoy it. The rice was unimpressive and the meat just wasn't the same when not on bread. I started going here back in 95. My sub of choice is the cheese steak. Big ol sandwich with a lot of meat. Later I started trying their sweet and sour chicken. A large could feed 2 people. Not much atmosphere. Then again it's a sub shop. It's clean if you want to eat in. If not they do take out real well also. They have a big variety of sandwiches. Also the egg rolls if not home made taste like they are. It's been a few weeks since I was there but i will be going back. The cost is a little more. This isn't a franchise. Mom and Pop all the way. I really like this place and I bumped them up one star because the portions are HUGE. The food is really good and they are consistent with the quality. I have tried the cheese steak subs, the yaki mandu, the bulgogi and the fired rice. Out of everything I would say the bulgogi sub is my favorite. I am really funny about french fries and I LOVE theirs. I am likely to drop in for an order of fries sometimes. I know most people would say they are nothing to rave about, (they remind me of the ones from my childhood). The people in there are nice and they always get your order right. There are cheaper sandwiches in town but you get your monies worth here. If you get a large sandwich be hungry because you will have leftovers. I love Korean food and this is excellent quality. Beware, if business is slow, they close 30-45 minutes early. We called one night and asked for their closing time. The owner clearly stated 8:00. We leave home at 7:25 and arrive at 7:40. When we walked in, the owner states "we are closed". I explained that we called in and asked what time they closed not more than 20 minutes before. He simply laughs and said business is slow, we closed early. He hands a man his to go order that was called in, and we leave. On another separate occasion, we visited the store at 7:45. It was our first time. On the door the hours stated an 8:30 closing time. We go in and the lady just blurts out we getting ready to close. She did let us order, but it felt like we were invading their space and it was very awkward. She was not rude but was like " hurry up" even though we were new. The verdict, CALL YOUR ORDER IN, in the evenings! We have eaten here twice, but visited the restaurant on 3 separate occasions.I tried the bulgogi based on yelp reviews. I really wanted the philly steak and cheese but succumbed to popular consensus. It is tasty and unique but too busy for a sub and the bread is too bland and cardboardy for such delicious meat. Yes, you get a lot of meat, but the sub is just toooo busy with flavors for me. The next time, we tried the bulgogi with steamed rice. Clearly this dish is OVER-SALTED and you will want sauce to go with the rice since it is really dry. The salty sauce makes this undesirable. The bread hides that fact with the sub. I will pass on Su's Subs just because the bulgogi scared me with sooo much sodium, not because of the quirky owner who refused to serve us on our second trip. A but pricey on the Asian food. I had the beef bulgogi with fried rice and it was delicious. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of flavor. Had plenty of rice to make another dish the next day. I see some people complaining about price on Yelp. I dislike low quality beef. I am happy to pay for beef that tastes as good as this. My dish was $14 for the small. Small is not too small. There is plenty to eat. I did a take out order and it was easy over the phone. No, the man didn't say goodbye but that didn't bother me as it did some yelpers. I see it as a cultural difference. I went for the first time today with my friend, and received some of the worst service I've ever experienced in my life. She ordered a bulgogi sub for herself and a bulgogi plate with steamed rice. When we received our food we only received the sub and white rice. My friend went to have it fixed, offering to bad the difference for the meat to go with the rice to fix the mistake. The cashier the on proceeded to yell at us that we were wrong, when we had several witnesses to confirm how we put in our order. He continue by snatching the food he had asked us to return. He continued to have an attitude not only with us but customers that came after us. Going as far as to throw the customers money on the counter. Su's subs has great food, that was completely unexpected! The Bulgogi sub is a must have, and their stir fry vegetables with shrimp is great as well. Some reviews mention comments about the owner using negative language, and I definitely think that was taken out of context.... The owner is a wonderful Asian man who jokes, and has a great time with all of his regular customers.
