We had a great experience at the Northwest Regional Center, both for our marriage license and our…read morecourthouse wedding ceremony, and I wanted to share details for anyone planning to go this route. Marriage license application: We went in last week without an appointment on a Friday around midday and were helped right away. The clerk who assisted us was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. She even noticed that my (now) husband is military and proactively offered helpful tips for post-marriage military paperwork and benefits, which we really appreciated. I unfortunately didn't catch her name, but she truly made the process easy and stress-free. Courthouse ceremony experience (1/26): We were married by Judge Mueller, who was warm, kind, and even a little funny--which helped calm the nerves. We only had a few guests with us. We were instructed to arrive by 4:00 pm, and when we did, we "checked in" at the designated window by grabbing a laminated number card and sitting down to wait. We were the first couple to arrive, but other couples trickled in over time, including some closer to 4:30 pm or slightly after, so they don't seem overly strict about the exact arrival time. Closer to 5:00 pm, a clerk called us back to the same window to formally check us in, collected our marriage license paperwork, our two witnesses' IDs, and the $100 fee, and then told us which courtroom we were assigned to. We waited outside the courtroom until Judge Mueller came out to call us in. Only one couple (and their guests) goes into the courtroom at a time, which makes it feel private and personal. The ceremony itself was brief but meaningful. We were allowed to take as many photos as we wanted inside the courtroom, and the judge was very patient and did not rush us at all. (Just a heads-up: photos are not allowed elsewhere in the building.) We were walking out by about 5:20 pm. Overall, the process was organized and surprisingly pleasant. If you're considering a courthouse wedding, this location is efficient, respectful, and staffed by genuinely kind people who seem to care about making the experience a good one.

Also the officer after court decided to follow me home and then be hired as the concierge at my place of residence. This is not service nor protection it is ego and you all need to fix it! He no longer reside as he was caught do not believe me a fool I knew the entire time you were there that's what the cameras were for. I have an audio bug in my system and it seems someone has the power to place gps tracking devices in my car at my place of residents where out of nowhere I move in and we have one. I keep finding gps systems placed in my car. They are from eBay. Not manufactured they signed off on that and not from my finance company. 2 of them last night someone entered my car after copying my key. I went to open my door and my automatic locks didn't work. I have an audio tooth and am constantly being monitored from a case that I destroyed in CA and am currently working to remove! I went today before a judge who is not impartial not only did they not show the speed I had a witness. The judge still ruled in favor of the officer. It does not matter if you have evidence to support the case he will rule in favor of the officer as this is a business. This is not a justice system but a collection agency. My privacy rights have been violated along with the mishandling of this case! Why is MVD sending anything when it's paid. Not only that my car is registered in CA! Everyone seems to have a retaliation problem original amount paid in 2 payments and paid the last in a lump sum. A letter of verification is needed that all debts were not paid as I have receipts. I will sue for false claims.

Look, no one enjoys the legal process, that's for certain. Okay, maybe not absolutely certain, but…read moreI certainly do not enjoy Court things... However, it helps with the process when the staff are kind and willing to assist in the manner they are able. Most clerks/customer service employees here cannot answer certain questions or provide advise that may teeter into "legal advice territory" which is completely understandable when they're not practicing attorneys and are to remain neutral in the cases. However, they can answer some questions and especially if one is careful in how the question is framed. I have been to this court a few times, it feels lighter than the ones down town (for obvious (to me) reasons), I don't mind coming up here when I have to and when I do, I leave feeling a little more at ease than when I first arrived. Today, the same was true. Be patient, be kind, and remember these are our public service workers and they do their very best, I believe.

But it made changing the ownership of our property extremely simple. We chatted via a screen with a helpful person who led us through the steps from scanning our changed documents to paying for the changes. It took no more than 10 minutes and we were done. We highly recommend using this option rather than driving downtown.

Prescott Justice Court REVIEW: Prescott Justice Court --…read moreJudicial Officer David Parker Case: Small Claims Hearing, March 13, 2026 (1 out of 5 stars) I appeared in Prescott Justice Court on March 13, 2026 for a small claims case involving a clear violation of Arizona's security deposit statute (A.R.S. § 33-1321). I came fully prepared with tabbed exhibits, documented evidence including a USPS postmark proving my landlord mailed my deposit four days past the statutory deadline, and relevant case law including an Arizona Supreme Court decision. The statute is clear: if a landlord returns a deposit late, the tenant is entitled to twice the amount wrongfully withheld. This is mandatory, not discretionary. To the best of my recollection, Judicial Officer David Parker: 1. Stated words to the effect that he "may apply the statute" but "doesn't have to" -- despite the law being mandatory. 2. Excused the landlord's violation of Arizona law by stating words to the effect that the defendant "is old" and that I should "understand she doesn't follow the law all the time" because of her age. Age is not a legal defense. 3. Awarded only $200 when the statute required $2,612.88. 4. Abruptly ended the hearing with words to the effect of "we're done here" when I respectfully pointed out that the statute does not provide exceptions based on age. I presented clear evidence. The law was on my side. The Arizona Supreme Court has ruled on this exact issue. None of it mattered. If you are a tenant seeking justice against a landlord in Prescott Justice Court, be aware that the law may not be applied as written. I have filed a complaint with the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct.

The courthouse is the center of Prescott's Town Square and is surrounded by a park-like grass area and huge old trees. There are sculptures and the area is often decorated for the season. Fourth of July and Christmas are some of the most impressive seasonal decorations. Is a great place to walk around on a cool evening.
