I wish all healthcare providers were like Surfside! Easy to get to; little to no waiting; a well-organized social distancing system that avoids a crowded waiting room (e.g. you fill out paperwork in a sheltered, open-air space outside their second-floor location); and, crucially -- quality, professional care. They helped our young daughter with splinters and other maladies last year, and solved a simple ear problem I had yesterday. So refreshing to just be able to show up, and get treated by the caring staff without even having to wait. The young radiologist Chris is very helpful, and the doctor(s) and nurses are very pleasant and capable as well. They'll be my first stop for treatment! read more

The person who treated me did not introduce himself I came with a jagged open wound on my chin The wound needed to be cleaned disinfected and the sides needed to be pulled together and it needed to be glued. This could be done by a medical student! The person treating me did 1) not disinfect 2) did not pull the sides of the wound together for minimal scaring (In my face!) 3) left a 1/4 inch opening that will certainly leave an ugly scar, o stars would be more appropriate of a rating! read more

I've gone here 2 times, once for me, and once for my 2 year old. Both times were excellent! Very quick, nice and patient with their patients. It is more of a hometown feel, with friendly staff and everyone nice and down to earth. With my 2 year old today we were in and out within 20 mins, and that was including having to fill out all the paperwork! I have been to another urgent care in the area and this one is hands down better. Better priced, quicker and better people. read more

Dr Shapiro and staff are top notch. I called in advance to see if they could work me in on my extended 1.5 hour lunch hour and they assured me they could. I had a chronic cough and needed a chest X-ray to rule out some worries. They got me right in, got me diagnosed and prescribed Prednisone and some other stuff that's already working! Tried giving this place a try a few times since it's close to where we live, but it just gets worse each time. They now have tables set up outside and don't allow patients inside. Even still, they won't see you without a Covid test, and you have to wait days for the results. Rude staff, and horrible service. read more

I've returned from a walk in appointment with zero complaints about this facility and staff. In fact I wasn't expecting to be impressed due to the early reviews here. This was simply the best option nearest to our motel. I received the same thorough professional care that I am used to from any urgent care appointment at my hometown Massachusetts General Hospital Downtown Associates family practice. The paperwork for registering was easier than most. It was actually legible and as brief as it can be these days. I was seen within 5 minutes of completing my paperwork. I had to ask for water from the receptionist and she brought it quickly. The doctor actually spent time asking many kinds of questions and offering many suggestions for my recovery from terrible food poisoning. She explained why antibiotics were not prescribed and assured me about the anti-nausea prescription that I'd never had before. Most unexpectedly this doctor was also knowledgeable about the side effects of my current medications. She had an impressively compassionate manner. I would return to this location and I would recommend this place to family who might be living or traveling in the area without a regular primary care physician. I got better care than I expected and promptly. That's what I needed most. In addition, I felt assured by the cleanliness. I really felt a little added comfort from seeing all of the framed wild turtle photos on the walls. Just a bonus feature! read more

I decided to go to this place for one: it was very close to my home. I went there for the reason due to the fact that I had developed an infection on the tip of my right ring finger. After collecting $126.00 from me I was directed into the patient area. The nurse who first seen me was very unprofessional. Her attitude was like what are you doing here. And I was like are you kidding me?? Then the Doctor came in and took a look at my finger and told me I had an infection. DUH!!! BTW: This person was not a MD it was an assistant. What is our Medical Care coming to?? An assistant without any real MD supervision. He started to proceed to lance open the infected area to drain out some of the blood and which look like some puss was present. After he was done he prescribed me to get some anti biotic ointment and which cost another $40.00. After applying this ointment for days my finger did not appear to get better. In fact it looked like it was getting worse. It had swelled up twice the size of the normal. So I went back and started that it was not getting any better and that they did not give me a follow up appointment which they should have. SO they wanted me tp pay another $126.00 fee to see this quack who botched up my finger. I WAS IN SHOCK. At the same time I went to a REAL MD and he was very upset to see what was done. He immediately told me that he should have never open up the infected area because now I have developed a Fungus in my right finger. He took the time to explain to me what needed to be done and that I must follow it to the tee so that this doesn't develop into something major with the hand itself. SCARY to say the least! Rest assure that I am going to notify the board of health and file a complaint against this place. I wouldn't recommended this place to my worst enemy. read more

Nurse and PA were fine and nice. Big problem was with the xrays they took they couldn't make a disc or have any other way to get images to an Orthopedic MD. Their office manager was rude and offered no solution or apology only attitude. Had to pay somewhere else to get them done again. Won't be going back there. read more

The staff was friendly before they got all my billing information. Now they are rude and unprofessional and billing me for all sorts of stuff. They assured me they would work with my insurance but they didn't. Just a nightmare to deal with. The doctors were pretty standard. Wanted to prescribe all sorts of pills and antibiotics without even listening to my issues. read more

The doctor and the staff were so kind and helpful during my visit due to a vacation mishap. They took great care of me and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. This center was clean and a breeze getting in and out. I wish this facility were close to where I live. I would certainly return if I should have the misfortune of getting injured again on vacation. Money hungry....very unprofessional.No passion nor desire to care for people. There are so many Urgent Care Centers in the area....with real doctors and staffed by people who truly care...go to one of those. How do you run a medical facility, that is suppose to care for sick people...when all you care about is money. Very sad place....very incompetent providers. I was in town for my stepsons wedding and developed a chest infection. The staff at Surfside, were personable and professional from the minute I walked in. I was seen quickly, received a thorough examination and my treatment plan was discussed with me prior to being finalized. I have worked in healthcare my entire adult life and rarely have I as a consumer or a nurse seen it work as well as this in an urgent care a setting. read more

Would not ever go back. staff is inattentive, seems uncaring... couldn't even spell my name right for pharmacy even when given two forms of id, and I was only seen for all of two minutes in back. would rather risk waiting in ER than going back here for negligent care. read more

I revisited this center after a car accident for an evaluation. I had the unfortunate luck of encountering Theresa RT. She was rude and condescending as she told the male MD that came to see me that I was "one of those" . Not quite sure what that means as an X-ray was only thing I received, I don't take any medications of any type and refused anything more than the X-ray. Being in the medical field myself ,it was clear that if you are allowed to say this to the MD in charge than he is participating in this type of behavior as well. On top of this I requested a copy of my X-ray's and was given another patients medical records , so they violate Hippa regulations too. Lastly there is no infection control protocols in place, no one sprays or cleans after sick coughing patients with flu symptoms leave rooms, there is not a specific room where those patients are seen. There are no masks anywhere, I had my own thank god , but despite my efforts to remain illness free , 3 days after visiting this place I became sick too . Do Not Go here !! Atlantis urgent care on AIA in Indian Harbour Beach is closest and many are over the bridge. read more

Surfside Urgent Care almost killed me and now has a collection agency sending me letters to collect $54 they charged. They prescribed hydromet cough syrup that caused me to pass out (syncope), something that had never happened to me. Fortunately I collapsed face first into a coffee table instead of backwards such that my head would have hit our tile floor. An ambulance took me to the hospital ER where they admitted me overnight. You can imagine what the bill was. Surfside Urgent Care has failed to pay a bill for my out-of-pocket expenses that far exceeded their $54. And I've called and written Surfside Urgent Care multiple times to credit the balance of $54, yet they've not replied to a single phone call, email, or fax. I've never dealt with a more unethical or more dangerous healthcare provider. read more

This Urgent Care center might be fine for adults but don't bring your child there. My son was treated for an ear infection at almost 2 years old. He has never been on an antibiotic. They prescribed the highest dose in the range of doses for Augmentin and three days later when I went back to tell them that he was not himself and very off balance they just said he's on the right amount and were not friendly. They didn't seem to care that my child cannot tell me what hurts or what is wrong. I called the CVS and the Pharm. told me to reduce the amount but first to skip his next dose. I already had an email into my Pediatrician at home (we were visiting). When I heard back from our Ped. they told us to cut the amount almost in HALF! and to maybe try giving it to him 4/day instead of 2/days splitting the dosage up. I am appalled the Urgent Care center didn't listen to my concerns. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. read more
