Hmm.. Sur Coffee had some nice reviews but I thought it was just aight. I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, but it seemed so watered down, and tasted very acidic even with the oat milk. My girlfriend got the iced matcha latte and that too was so diluted that I could only taste the almond milk. The best coffee in south Orange County! I LOVE Sur and make it a point to stop by during every trip south. Staff is super friendly, coffee is so delicious, and the pastries are always top notch. The biscuits with honey butter and jam are 10/10, my favorite! Seating is a bit tough from time to time because it's such a small shop but there's a larger seating area in the front that filters people pretty quickly. Very chill, So Cal cafe! Parking is easy and free in the back. I got the pumpkin spice latte; it was bizarre and tasted like there was perfume in it. I think I'll opt for the regular latte the next time. I also got the cinnamon bun which others have said was dry. Sur has a great location with very friendly employees right off El Camino Real and in the thick of things within walking distance to the water. I ordered a cortado with oat milk while the hubby ordered an iced vanilla latte with almond milk. We tend to avoid the places that use Monin or Torani syrups since they're overly sweet and usually ruin the coffee. My cortado was extremely bitter and not smooth at all. My husband's latte was pretty decent because he asked to go easy on the syrup. We bought beans as well which we just used up and found that we had to increase the grams of beans used or else the coffee was too bland and weak for us. For a shop that is roasting their own beans and baking homemade pastries, my suggestion would be to make your own syrups to showcase the beans and notes of the roast you're going after, instead of masking it under the mass produced sweeteners. read more

This was my second time going to this coffee shop. I love that there is really convenient parking in the back or in the surrounding streets. This is a huge plus for me, especially around this area where parking is mostly limited. This time I got an iced caramel latte with regular milk and half sweet. It was decent but pretty watery tasting. Not overly sweet nor bitter. I have been to this place maybe 5 or so times, and each time I am unimpressed. I love good coffee, and this coffee is just not more than mid. From cortados, to lattes, cold brew to drip it's all mid. Add that to the fact that I haven't ever had a barista or person at the register be friendly in any way. It's almost like they don't care about you.
