I needed a space that has room for yoga as well as plenty of seating and nooks and crannies for writers to sit and work on their projects. I also needed it to be affordable so I could keep costs low for working writers. I looked at dozens of places throughout LA before I found Good Life Academy. I was so thrilled to discover this beautiful, loved, and light-filled space! The main room is large enough to fit 10-15 people in a yoga class if you slide the furniture to the side; there is a full kitchen you can use to store lunches and snacks; the back yard is huge and set up with chairs and tables; there's also a side yard and front yard, and there are a myriad of options for where to write. And, best of all, Good Life Academy offers a membership for facilitators, where you pay a VERY reasonable monthly rate and then have access to the space for up to 11 hours a week and 10 people per event. (This may change, so check details!) The owners, Hayuta and Siggie, were welcoming and delightful from the start, and they have worked with me with all my myriad requests to customize the space (such as allowing me to take up kitchen space to leave snacks and mugs and a coffee maker there for my monthly retreats). I can't recommend this place highly enough. I held my first 1-day retreat there this month and it was spectacular. Everyone loved the space and the vibe and the peace. One writer even wrote 6000 words! If you are a facilitator of an event, check out Good Life Academy. Hayuta and Siggie will take great care of you as well.
