I truly can't imagine both my birth experiences without her--yes, Stacey has been my doula x 2! From the moment we met, Stacey brought such special energy. She exudes a grounding presence that helped me feel supported, informed, and safe. There was a moment right before my son was born when his heart rate dropped and things got intense--but Stacey remained so steady and composed. Her energy helped me stay grounded in what would have otherwise been a scary moment. I'll never forget it, and I'll always be grateful. Because of the incredible care I received, I've referred many friends and clients to Stacey and will continue to do so without hesitation. She embodies exactly what birth support should be: intuitive, compassionate, and unwavering.

I really wish I would have read the negative reviews on here before hiring Stacey as our doula. We…read morehad a very disappointing experience with her. She is overbooked and unprofessional in her scheduling. We were rescheduled for our initial prenatal visit four times over the span of one month, sometimes canceling the day of, and only once with the excuse that she was assisting a birth. After giving her a $2000 deposit, this was disconcerting as we hadn't even met her yet. Her premium fee now felt too high for us to have to reschedule our lives to accommodate her schedule so many times on such short notice. When we addressed this with her, and she assured us we were a priority, but the rescheduling continued. Her actions don't match her word. Her contract does state that all prenatal visit dates are subject to change, so it's clear in hindsight she adds this rule to protect herself and leave her clients with no rights to complain. We ended up letting her go after 3 months because we didn't feel confident in her reliability. We thought a refund for some of the deposit was fair as it was meant to cover the photography we wouldn't be getting. She refused our request, keeping our entire $2000 deposit, claiming it's her fee for the "care" she had already given (about 25-30 text messages). We were left extremely hurt and traumatized by this outcome as birth work is supposed to offer nurturing and support. So at 6 months pregnant we were out $2000 we could have used for the baby. I consulted 5 different birth workers to see if we were in the wrong here and if this was a common scenario. All of them agreed with us this was very unfair and extremely atypical behavior for a doula. I'm glad we listened our my intuition on this one as her true character showed in the end. It just sucks that Stacey forces her clients to choose between following their intuition and losing thousands of dollars. Approach her contract with caution. When she says all appointments are subject to change, she really takes advantage of that. If you decide to hire her, be sure you are able to accommodate indefinite rescheduling and have extra money to burn incase it doesn't work out. I hope you have much better luck than we did.

We interviewed a lot of doulas before deciding to hire Jen. I had honestly already selected a doula I wanted and almost cancelled the consultation appointment with Jen but something told me to keep it and I am so glad I did. After chatting with her I knew she was the one. Her energy and calming voice was exactly what I knew I needed! Jen has been there for me EVERY step of the way on this wild rollercoaster to motherhood! She is always just a text or call away and the amount of time I've called her and spent an hour or more on the phone with her just crying, venting, laughing or bouncing thoughts with her. She's quickly become one of my dear friends! At my birth she was pivotal, and kept me calm by helping with breathing tactics and pain management tools. She even helped me push my baby out. I am so grateful to have walked this journey and to keep walking this journey with you Jen! Thankfully we also added on her postpartum package and she has been spoiling me with yummy meals, foot and back massages, sitz baths and loving on my son. Jen is an absolute gem and I highly recommend her! Oh and I almost forgot she captured my birth beautifully too with photos and videos. And the education she gives during her prenatal visits are like nothing else any other doula does. Most doulas start there visits in late 3rd trimester and show up at the birth. I want to share my experience to be able to help future mothers and especially first time mothers…read moreto have the best experience possible wether its for birth or postpartum as mine wasn't what I wish It would have been. I wanted to feel supported and try for a VBAC for my second birth so I decided to work with Andrey for the birth of our daughter. Everything went good at the beginning, we had our in person interview, shortly after that meeting we decided we would be a fit for each other. After that she came over one more time and afterwards she told me she had a family oversees she was working with and would be available via phone/zoom and if needed to she would introduce me to a back up doula incase she wasn't back in time for my birth. The way she introduced us was thru text (no phone call or even an effort to do a zoom call so me and that back up doula could meet each other) no professionalism. My prenatal care was very limited nothing close to what Andrey promotes. Then I asked for a list of what to bring in my birth bag, she said she would send, I had to ask about 4 times until she sent and the reason I didn't get it was because she had sent it to a 'Victoria' how do you forget your clients name especially when you are a part of one of the most vulnerable times in their life. Fast forward to my birth Andrey ended up not being there. I ended up working with the back up doula & my first time meeting her and talking to her was her walking in my room while I laid in my bed clothe-less in pain as I was going thru my contractions (not the most ideal setting to meet someone for the first time who is going to be a part of a raw and emotional intimate time) a few days later Andrey lets me know shes back in LA and is coming to see me & baby to help with postpartum care. Then texts me cancelling because her car is in the shop (She could've taken an Uber) and cannot make it and she can come another day. She comes over a couple days after that for a few hours and tells me she will be back @10am the next day to help us some more. The next morning @9:35am she txts me she cannot make it and isn't available until the following week. I had cancelled help from my sitter to help with my newborn and toddler and my husband had left to work because we had relied on having help from Andrey that morning. At that point I was feeling extremely upset. The care and support I was expecting which Andrey advocates heavily on was nowhere close to what I was given. What was supposed to be a time in my life where I should've been given unwavering love and support turned into a time of grief and sadness for me. I decided to have a conversation with Andrey and let her know how I was feeling and I no longer felt comfortable working together. She apologized and told me I was a client that 'fell thru the cracks.' Simply she overcommitted and I was put in the back burner or was her last option sadly. She offered to bring some postpartum stuff to help with grief and overall just to help me emotionally and would drop it off in the next couple days, she never did. Unfortunately Andrey constantly overpromised and underdelivered.

The two at-home sessions leading up to my hospital birth were so informative and really made my husband and I feel as prepared as possible to think through lots of different scenarios (and much more informative than any labor course we took!). Robyn is clearly incredibly experienced, professional, and so deeply cares about the mamas and partners she supports. Robyn was always available and on the night I went into labor, she was in constant contact guiding us during the time leading up to our hospital arrival. She was there waiting for us at 1am ready to go - she was so prepared and immediately made me feel at ease for this unknown experience. All of the techniques she offered me, the constant emotional and physical support during labor (she is a talented masseuse!!), and her encouragement and backing of all my birth preferences (including ensuring our gender reveal stayed a surprise until the very end!) made the day such a positive experience. Not to mention, had Robyn not been there, I felt there was a very high likelihood I would have had to have had a cesarean birth due to my extended labor process. Instead, the techniques and positions Robyn worked with the doctors and nurses to offer meant that I got to have the safe and healthy delivery I had hoped for. Robyn also set an incredible vibe (music, candlelight, relaxing aromatherapy, honey sticks for energy!) that made the room feel special instead of cold and sterile. My husband and I both agreed that having Robyn as our doula was one of the best decisions and we have a beautiful, healthy baby girl and only positive memories of the labor experience because she was such an important part of our birthing team. Before the interview we read her DoulaMatch profile and were automatically drawn to her science background. As a black woman, it was most important to me that our doula have extensive knowledge about the intricacies of the pregnancy and birth process. From our first meeting with Sharon, it was clear that she possessed that knowledge. At our first meeting, Sharon was very warm but professional. She answered all of our questions in depth and with follow ups we had not considered. Her company Doula Diligence provides very structured educational programs along with birth support. We walked into the delivery room feeling confident that we had the information to advocate for ourselves if needed. The birth plan we created with Sharon during our meetings was very clear and multiple nurses told us that it was the best birth plan they had seen. During the birth itself, Sharon provided invaluable guidance and support. From the first text messages we sent to her to inform her I was being induced, she kept in touch and followed up with us until she was able to make it to the hospital. When she arrived, I was in active labor with a epidural that failed. Sharon instantly got to work making the room a more inviting place and providing me with massages and counter pressure to take my mind off the excruciating pain I was experiencing. At a point the anesthesiologist suggested removing and replacing my epidural. But after talking to Sharon, I decided to tough it out as our baby was already crowing. With Sharon's help with breathing techniques, I pushed her out within 20 minutes with minimal tearing. I've recommended Sharon and Doula Diligence to multiple people in my personal life because I could not imagine going through this experience without her. I do not intend to give birth again, but if that were to change, I will be using her services again. I highly highly recommend you choose Doula Diligence as a birth doula. They even have other services such as night nursing and sleep training guidance (which will be using when the time comes). TLDR: 10/10 experience, would hire these doulas again.
