We had an arranged trip for 7 people for both arrival and departure two months prior to our trip in Ft Myers. The first shuttle driver kept texting someone from his phone, I was concerned because it was at night and he was driving through a construction zone. I felt unsafe. Our original destination had changed and we had confirmation of the change, but the driver did not. He nearly brought us to the wrong location. Our return trip driver - who was early and very professional and friendly - did not know we had 7 to transport and we had to make secondary arrangements or nearly half of us could have missed our flight! After having a SECOND terrible experience with Super Shuttle (this time in Orlando with a driver who kept looking at his tablet and swerving, didn't use his windshield wipers, and changed lanes without looking), I have to rescind my original review. I was the last person to be dropped off and the driver asked invasive, personal questions about my marital status. When I told him I wasn't married, his response was "what? how could any man keep his hands off of you?" Shudder. So fucking creepy. And because he'd decided to drop us off in a different order than on the Super Shuttle schedule (since the other passengers waited close to 90 minutes), I was already marked as "dropped off," so I ended up following our drive on my OWN GPS just to make sure he wasn't trying to pull a fast one. Never again. From Tampa airport, driver left but 5 minutes in, the driver had to turn back to pickup another passenger, who apparently checked in electronically when their plane landed. Got back and waited 20 minutes for this lady to show up. My destination (hotel) was a 20 minute ride from the airport. However, first drop was at Tampa port downtown. Two hours later I finally make it to the hotel. Driver was nice and apologetic, wasnt his fault, but their system is a disaster. Booked a roundtrip Super Shuttle from Tampa International Airport to our hotel in St. Pete's Beach. Pick up at the airport was timely after doing the self check-in on my phone. We were the only customer's on the shared ride and got to our hotel in a safe and timely manner. Pick up at the hotel 5 days later went smoothly, the driver was actually 10 minutes early from the scheduled pick up time. Who here has booked a flight months in advance just to have the flight time changed a few weeks before leaving to an ungodly morning hour? Oh, just me?! To say I was a bit panicked how I was going to get to the airport is an understatement. I didn't want to ask friends or family to take me to the airport at 4 AM (you read that right. It's not a typo). I narrowed down my options between uber and Super Shuttle. I ultimately went with Super Shuttle as I could pay and book in advance whereas uber I would be chancing someone be awake and driving. Once I booked, I received an email confirmation. The day before my pick up, I received a text message reminder. The morning of the pick up, I received updates via text AND there is a link in the text to track the driver along with a photo. The driver did a good job navigating the packed (sarcasm here folks) Tampa roads at 4 AM. But there was construction and he drove at a safe speed. When he received a call he took it safely via Bluetooth to discuss another pick up. I use SuperShuttle many times when I travel alone for a trip that lasts more than a week. I usually book my seat and pay the fair online. The price is reasonable for shared shuttle and its flexible schedule provides varies options. The regular price for a one-way shared shuttle service is 29 dollar plus tax and tip. Although It is possible that one can get cheaper price using Uber, but when I have to leave house at 4am to catch my flight at 6 am, I'd rather use Supershuttle instead for safety reason. SuperShuttle uses technology to track the vehicle locations and airport check-ins. Let's say my pick-up time is 445am, I can click on the link of the confirmation text and track the location of the bus. When the bus is closer by, I lock my door and wait at the front of my house. The driver helps me load the luggage and then head to the next location for more pickups. There are several routes in Pinellas county. Even there are more pickups on the way to airport, it usually takes me 30 minutes to reach airport from north Pinellas. On the way back, I can either book my seat online or just arrange the pick up at the counter outside the TPA luggage claim area. The driver will look for passengers at the airconditioned waiting area. The shuttle buses are always clean and comfortable. The drivers operate the bus smooth and safe. There was one woman already aboard that said John Q the driver said he was picking up 5 at Traswwinds. 4 of us got on. SuperShuttle was cheaper than a taxi and renting a car for my trip to St. Petersburg. It was efficient, reliable, and user friendly. I booked my roundtrip transportation online ($25 each way using a coupon). The end price included tax and tip. I didn't have to wait long for the blue van to arrive. My van was filled with only three other people and I was dropped off first. I couldn't believe how fast and easy it was. On my trip back to the airport it was a little more hectic. SuperShuttle gives you a 20 minute window for pickup. As I reached the lobby I saw a SuperShuttle van outside take off. I ran after it and it sped off. Oh no! I thought I missed my ride but the porter said it wasn't mine. SuperShuttle is a common form of transportation to/from the airport and if you start to pay attention you will see the vans all the time. My van pulled up shortly and I went on my way to the airport. The driver this time relied heavily on GPS for pickup locations of the other customers. We took some detours and drove through some allys but got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. SuperShuttle may get a bad rap in other big cities like Los Angeles and NYC but for smaller cities like Tampa and St. Petersburg it is wonderful. Since there was barely any traffic and not a great deal of crowds, I wasn't required to be picked up three hours before my flight. Service was great and I would gladly ride it again. read more

Driver wasn't there when I arrived - flight wasn't early. I wasted 20 minutes trying to figure out where I was supposed to be because phone call quality was so poor - though in fairness that is a problem of most phones nowadays and I can't blame them for this. But the fact they couldn't be there on time completely defeated the purpose of using such a service - which is not having to think when you are extremely tired. If I need to track people down I can just call a cab or arrange transport myself. The whole point of such a service is to just show up. Won't be using this service again. What happened to the driver for ticket #823? Before I left for a trip to Germany I made a reservation for a Super Shuttle in Tampa for my return home, knowing I would be tired after the long flight and want as few details as possible to think about. I waited patiently for over 30 minutes watching several Super Shuttle vans come and go, several passengers who arrived after me be whisked away - some in a van by themselves. I understand we're all going different directions, so I continued to wait. A driver was searching for passenger ticket #825, walking all around and back to the ticket counter. He looked at my ticket, #823, and said "I could take you, but it's quite a bit out of the way for you. Your driver will be here." So I waited. Finally my driver showed up, with three business travelers headed to the same hotel. In making small talk one of the passengers shared that they overheard that I had been waiting a long time and the driver was told to drop me off first. Before I knew it I looked out the window and could see we were LEAVING Tampa. The other passengers were dropped off first and I was driven THROUGH Oldsmar to be taken to Carrollwood. And imagine my surprise to see another Super Shuttle van pull up while we were unloading - the driver with ticket #825 who said this stop is too far out of the way?!?!?! The two drivers shared a few words in the parking lot before I was finally on my way home. What is the purpose of a reservation if I have to wait 40 minutes for a pickup to be driven to Carrollwood via Oldsmar? I'm a frequent traveler for both business and leisure and have never seen a shuttle service run more poorly than in Tampa. Seriously - computers, gps and all the other technology available should remove the element of human error. The unfortunate part is that I had prepaid the tip (again, simplifying my life), which is a mistake I will not repeat. Super Shuttle may be the only game in town for airport shuttle service in Tampa; next time I'll be renting a taxi - it will be well worth it. I've used SuperShuttle on and off for the past few years and I have to say the service has become increasingly better, both from the ride experience to the booking and the tracking of the van. They are always on time or within the allotted window and the drivers are courteous and helpful. I love that you can now track where exactly the van is when they're coming to pick you up, that's very helpful for smartphone users. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 full stars is the return experience at the airport trying to get home. There is no pick up and you have to register at the window. I've waited 15 minutes before and I've waited 45 minutes before, both during busy and non busy travel times of the year. It's been largely an unpredictable experience and I would usually take a cab if I fly in late. I don't want to wait another 30-45 minute before heading home when I can already be home. I understand it's hard to predict arrival times and the time to retrieve luggage but since the booking process asks for my specific flight and arrival time, I would expect a better rough estimate of when I will be ready. But other than the initial wait time varying widely, I've never had a bad experience with Super Shuttle and recommend them. read more

I called the morning of my flight to book a shuttle in the evening. It was straight forward. When I got to the airport, I checked in on a machine, it fed me 2 slips of paper: 1 a receipt for me and the other a numbered receipt for the driver. Then you go stand at the sign. The fun begins because you don't know how long you will have to wait. A shuttle pulls up, driver gets out and calls out a number. You look at your ticket. If it matches, you get to go in the shuttle. If not you wait for the next shuttle. Driver gets out, yells a number, we all check.... really it's like winning the lottery when they call your number! The driver I had was really nice. He was interesting to talk with. It made the fact that I had just spent all day on two different over packed, no frills flight across the US seem OK. Thanks for ending my long day nicely. I would give it 5 stars had I been told how long the wait would be so I could anticipate standing around for so long. read more

Right in the middle for Supershuttle. I booked online for transportation from Tampa airport to Clearwater Beach. I followed the directions on my reservation and checked in at the desk by baggage claim. They gave me a ticket with a number and told me to wait at the bench next to the desk. A few minutes later, a shuttle pulls up about 50 yards away and a guy pops out and starts yelling numbers. I can't really hear him from where I'm standing, and I think he said 78 which sounds nothing like 76, but I figure I better haul my bag over there to make sure. Sure enough, he said 76. Good thing I checked or I may have missed my ride. But the ride was comfortable- even with the jazzy muzak playing in the background. My shuttle back to the airport 4 days later I got a reminder call about my pickup time. The shuttle arrived on time and I was back to the airport well before I needed to be. A word of advice- report that your flight is 30-45 minutes later than it actually is so you don't need to wait at the airport for 2.5 hours for your flight- particularly if you don't need to check a bag. read more

I used this service for transportation when I few into Tampa airport and was headed to Port Richey for the Thanksgiving Holiday. In the ground transportation area, there is a SuperShuttle booth where you check-in and pay for your transfer. The fare was $34 (actually $30 w/my AAA discount) and assume this is a flat fee. The lady directed me to a "fishbowl" waiting area and said it would be approx. 10 minutes. Within 10 minutes a sedan pulled up (not what I was expecting!) and the driver came in and verified my destination. Needless to say, it was a pleasant 37 mile ride. I had made my return reservation in advance and, again, was given a 10 minute window for pickup. Right on que the van (hey, a sedan both trips would have been too much to ask for) pulled up. We picked up some other passengers and off we went. Only down side is that you get to the airport 2+ hours early (to me that's too early), but it worked to my advantage on this occasion as I was able to hop on an earlier flight. You'd think that by now - having used this service for several years in both Sacramento and Tampa - I would have learned my lesson and just cough up an extra $10-20 for a cab, but SuperShuttle keep on lulling me into a false sense of security and then letting me down again. I have no problem with the drivers. Every SuperShuttle driver I've encountered has been friendly and professional. I also have no real complaints about the service to the airport - I have always been picked up within the time frame given in advance, and the drivers have been easy to communicate with. However, I have major problems with how the pickups from the airport are organized. I always reserve a ride in advance, and always check in on my phone upon landing, but I have never waited less than 40 minutes for an airport pickup. For my last ride, my assigned vehicle was changed 4 different times, with progressively later arrival times. I checked in at 12am and was pleased to discover that I would be assigned to a vehicle arriving at 12:11. I clicked on the van tracking link that SuperShuttle had texted me, and the van stopped tracking at around 12:15. Then I was reassigned to another vehicle arriving 10 minutes later. This pattern of vehicle reassignment continued until 12:47. I wouldn't be so bothered except that the Tampa airport was pretty much deserted, so it didn't look like SuperShuttle was trying to juggle a huge volume of customers. To add insult to injury, a girl who arrived a good 15 minutes after I did hopped into her own van (the third van that I had been assigned) a good 15 minutes before my own reassigned vehicle finally arrived. I know that this is a ride share, so I don't think my expectations are particularly unreasonable. But I wish I had known that my wait would be so long - because waiting outside for over 40 minutes (I tried out the indoor waiting area, but it smelled like feet) is not exactly my idea of a good time. Unfortunately this seems to be a pattern for SuperShuttle. A handy "shuttle tracking" app doesn't really do much good if your ride keeps on getting delayed and then reassigned. I assume that the problem lies with their dispatch office...SuperShuttle needs to seriously reevaluate their workflow if they don't want to lose their customers. read more

I booked a trip from the airport to my sisters house the day before I arrived. It was necessary since my niece couldn't pick me up. The reservation system was easy to navigate and book. The price for a shared ride was very reasonable for the distance and I mean reasonable including the drivers tip. The check-in at the airport was self service for me via my iPhone and very easy. I was assigned a van right away. The only glitch (very small) was they assigned me van #60. No van #60! The driver came in and asked for me by name which cleared up the glitch. He stated that #60 was being worked on and he was now #103. No problem. The ride was quick and easy, some traffic which the driver can't control. Clean van, friendly driver, easy trip. I use Super Shuttle regularly between my home and Tampa International Airport. I use the web reservation form. The drivers are courteous, and timely. One has called me to let me know that he was 5 minutes from my home. They communicate well, telling passengers how many stops there are, or that we would be waiting for another person to arrive before we leave the airport. There is a window for pickup times, and more than adequate time allowed to get to the airport. So while I am earlier than I would be on my own, I know that iif there was a problem, we would likely still be OK. It is a shared service, so we give up control...but its cheaper than parking, and I get dropped at my door. Professional & efficient, saves resources, costs less. read more

I have ridden the Super Shuttle perhaps half a dozen times. Usually I check to see if parking at the airport for the time I will be gone is more or less expensive than using the shuttle. The Super Shuttle became more competitive when airport parking rates went up. Pick up at home has always been within the time window given me. Normally it is within the first 10 minutes of the time window. On line scheduling of a pickup is easy. They recommend a pick up time based on flight departure time which means that they are also calculating transit time from home to the airport. I have found these estimates to be reasonable and have never felt I was arriving at the airport either too early or uncomfortably close to flight departure time. The airport to home trip usually takes a bit longer than home to airport. They seem to wait a bit to maximize the number of passengers. But this is necessary to keep costs down. Don't expect a car like ride. After all, these are vans. Temperature control is good even in the hottest weather. I have never felt uncomfortably warm. The drivers are very courteous and stow luggage carefully. They never act rushed even though they are on a tight schedule. I have been very pleased the times I have used Super Shuttle. A taxi is faster and more comfortable. On that basis I considered 4 stars for the Super Shuttle. But the Super Shuttle is such a good value for the money I went with 5 stars. read more

Was in Clearwater for a wedding this weekend and it's a $50 / 30 minute ride to the airport via cab. I debated between this option or a $26 SuperShuttle and ended up opting for the shuttle. Very glad I did! My pick up window was 830-845am. I arrived at 830am promptly and the shuttle was already there ready and waiting. We loaded my bags and were off. It was a smooth and quick 30 minute ride to the airport with a friendly driver and fellow passengers (only 2 others). All of our flights were with different airlines but at the same terminal so drop off was easy. It was pretty much the same service/time of getting to the airport in a cab/car service at half the cost. Can't speak for SuperShuttles experiences in my home cities (LA/NYC) as those airports are much larger/complex and the cities the same, but if you're in Tampa and need a ride to TPA, I'd def recommend SuperShuttle! On 11/21/19 I arrived at the airport at 2:30am and checked in on the app. A confirmation text said I would be notified when the shuttle was arriving. Got to the shuttle waiting area to learn that another passenger had been waiting one hour for his ride. I tried calling on the Shuttle phone inside the airport but got no help from whomever answered. I took a cab that cost twice as much. The next day I called and asked for a refund and for the balance of the cab fare. Had a very nice, competent customer service person helping me. Was hopeful for a response. However, since that date I have heard NOTHING from Super Shuttle. I do not recommend Super Shuttle. (And P.S. fair warning - this happened to me several years ago as well. DO NOT USE SUPER SHUTTLE!! NOT reliable. TERRIBLE customer service. YOU WILL MISS YOUR FLIGHT. My ride was scheduled to arrive 04:25PM - 04:40PM. At 4:30, I get a call from the driver stating that the first passengers weren't ready yet and that he was going to be 20 minutes late to pick us up - so he would be there around 5pm. I expressed my concern about making to the airport on time as we had bags to check and GPS was saying it would take 1 hour 10 minutes to get to the airport from my house. He said it would be fine and he would be there by 5. At 4:50 I called him again to check the ETA and he said he was still at the other passenger's house which was 30 minutes away and that he would "hopefully be to us by 5:15/5:20". At this point, my faith in him was completely lost, as this was his 3rd time delaying his arrival. (The first was a voicemail saying he would arrive at the later end of our window). With traffic, there was no way, that even if he did arrive by this new time, that we would make our flight.
