I have used super shuttle numerous times to go to the airport. Have had one very bad driver experience, rude, and bad driving. Most of the time it's mediocre. Today I has another horrible customer service experience. They were going to be 25min late picking me up, which was cutting it way too close to check my bag at the airport. When I asked to cancel so I could find alternative arrangements they said no because I was canceling too close to the service time! Which mind you was in over 2 hours. They were rude and unappreciative of the additional travel stress they caused. I wish there was a better shuttle service in the city. read more

I just got off super shuttle to JFK from hotel in Manhattan. I had a very skilled, excellent, and courteous driver who knew how to work the crazy traffic in NYC. I got here in less time than I expected and enjoyed the ride as well! The price is great ($22 one way). I tipped $5 too. I'm so thankful to not have this job for my career! read more

Where do I start. Super Shuttle is the single most horrible ground transportation service I have ever used in my life. As someone who typically Yelps everything, I don't know why I did not Yelp this company and I regret it. I booked my reservation and prepaid online about a week before my arrival. I flew a red eye flight and was tired, arrived at 630am. Upon arriving at the airport, I followed the instructions in my email confirmation to go to the ground transportation area and use one of the courtesy phones to call Super Shuttle. I spoke to a woman who took my confirmation number and told me to just wait right in the area where I was and the driver would come in and call my name. Seems easy enough, I hang up with her and notice a guy with a Super Shuttle jacket on and see he is recruiting passengers to fill up his van. I go up to him, tell him I called and have a reservation and ask if I will be going with him. He says "oh, you called, just wait here and someone will come in and call your name". So I stand around and watch him fill up his van with people that obviously did not have reservations and watch him leave. I see another van pull up and think, "okay, this is okay, I'll be getting on this van, just wait for them to call your name". So I watch the driver come in, get Starbucks, chat it up with the ground transportation desk lady, recruit a passenger and then leave. Really? At this point, I'm pretty tired and becoming pretty agitated. I go to call them again and am on hold for about 5 minutes when I see another driver come in. I wave him over and explain I followed the instructions and have been waiting for an HOUR and watched two shuttles leave during that time. He was very understanding and nice and used his radio to contact the dispatch office. I hear the other guy say that I was a no show. Excuse me, what?! I had been waiting in the same place for an hour!! So frustrating. Anyhow, this nice driver guy pleads with the guy on the other end of the radio to get me onto another shuttle. Yes, I said he had to plead to get me the ride I had already paid for. Best the dispatcher could do was get me on a van in 15 minutes. So, I wait calmly even though I am quite upset. The guy arrives and walks in yelling my name frantically, no greeting of any sort. There is another girl that is supposed to come with me and apparently has also been waiting for over an hour. The driver and the ground transportation lady get into it because he says this other girl isn't on his list and he has only room for one more (me). The other girl was clearly upset as we packed up and drove off, understandably so. The driver didn't even try to smooth things over, it wasn't his problem, not like he is in the business of customer service or anything. The van smelled strongly of mildew. By now it's heavy rush hour traffic time, so I get to sit in mildew van for over an hour. From the time I called to arriving at my hotel, it took over THREE HOURS. Filed a complaint with their customer service and requested a refund, was given a case number and promised a return call. Surprise, surprise, no one ever followed up. This was my first visit to NYC and Super Shuttle was a shameful first impression. I can't believe the airport actually promotes people using them. It's too bad they can't clean up their act and be a respectable business. read more

TERRIBLE!!! Left a phone in the van and realized it as it was driving off. Tried to call customer service right away before the van leaving airport. They couldn't reach driver as we were tracking the phone (still showing at another terminal). As we were boarding plane, they said the driver said it wasn't there. Total Liar!!! Supershuttle is THE WORST. It costs more but you're much better off using Uber, a taxi, or some other car service. I had a reservation from Manhattan to JFK airport. The driver never showed up for my pickup time and when I called to check their location, I was told they were 30 minutes behind schedule because the van was still in queens! I checked into my reservation at 12:19am. As I type this I am still waiting at the welcome center of jfk at 1:49am. This is incredibly rediculous that a 15-20 minute window that was given to me upon check in is now almost 2 hours wait at such an hour. I have called 29 on the service phone without any real assistance as I am still waiting. This is incredibly unreliable service, but specifically for those who have business to attend in the morning and who have been given a false waiting window. I am never taking super shuttle again. Not only did I wait 30min past my pick-up time with no contact from the driver, but I was switched vans 3 times, and eventually after waiting an hour the company cancelled my ride completely and texted me to "take a taxi". This all happening after I made a point to call SuperShuttle and confirm that there were no problems and my ride was on the way to pick me up. When I called to confirm that SuperShuttle was going to reimburse me for said taxi, they told me that they would only return the money I spent on the shuttle that never showed, and that the taxi is my own responsibility. The representative went as far as to blame other passengers as the reason why my ride was cancelled, because they "took to long to be ready", and did not assume any responsibility for the fact that their own scheduling and dispatching mistakes led to cancelling my ride. I purchased a service that was now making it impossible for me to get to my flight on time for the price I paid for. I was forced to call a $60 car to the airport, and that was my cheapest choice! Incredibly unprofessional, went as far as to blame me for booking a flight so close to the holidays. If you allow a customer to book a service, and pay for it, you either complete the service through any means necessary, or reimburse the client for said service and any inconvenient costs accrued. I will be demanding to be refunded for the car they left me no choice but to take. read more

The customer service is terrible, and the wait time can be indefinite. It is impossible to reach a customer service representative over the phone. After waiting for more than an hour at the JFK welcome center, I finally gave up and just took the airtrain and subway. When I tried calling later, it was impossible to get a refund. Booked an executive car for 3:15pm. Landed at LAX at 2:45, sat on hold until 3:45 trying to reach someone to let them know I was waiting for my car. Eventually I gave up and canceled the trip and took a taxi, adding an additional 30 minutes of rush hour commute and cost to my trip by being stupid enough to wait for super shuttle to answer the phone in the first place. The shuttles might be economical but do not waste your time and money on their car service. read more

My husband travelled to EWR for business this past week and this was his experience: I had to wait over an hour at the airport before I was picked up. The pickup time just kept incrementing by 1 minute every minute without providing any real idea of when the vehicle was actually going to show up. The pickup vehicle was abruptly changed 40 minutes after initial notification, without any explanation. Not helpful at all. Driver dropped me off, with my luggage, on the road at hotel driveway entry instead of taking me to the hotel lobby entrance. Gave flimsy excuse that vehicle was too tall to make it to the hotel lobby entrance! This was by far my worst experience with SuperShuttle. On top of it all, the price was about 5 dollars cheaper than regular cab and about 15 dollars more than Uber. Definitely not worth it. I will not be using SuperShuttle again. I will tell anyone planning to use SuperShuttle to use regular cab or Uber or Lyft. read more

I booked SuperShuttle for my return trip from Cancun. My flight was delayed due to the weather conditions in NYC'S LGA airport. Instead of arriving at 11:11 pm I arrived at 12:30 am. I immediately called SuperShuttle. I was told that it would take my van 90 minutes or more before they arrive. I didn't complain I waited 2 hours before I called back. When I spoke to someone the 2nd time I was told that no one would pick me up until 5 am. I cancelled SuperShuttle's service and had to call Lyft. They (Lyft) arrived in 5 minutes. I will never ever use SuperShuttle again. I paid more for my ride with Lyft, but at least they will come at any hour and they are very reliable. Don't use if you land late at night. Booked the shuttle on their website, with flight information for JFK (landing at 12:55am), and plane was on time. However when calling to find the shuttle it turns out they don't have any at the airport (excuse is they are all in the city), and it will take 90 minutes, which is interesting as it only took 30 minutes for the Taxi to get to downtown Manhattan, that I took instead. Venting to the taxi driver about, he said they do that all the time. When waking up in the morning, Supershuttle had called at 3am... So avoid at night, not worth it. read more

I don't understand why Supershuttle even asked for our flight number and arrival time, they didn't seem to have anticipated the pick up. We called once we landed at JFK and were told to wait 30 minutes. 45 minutes later we called again and were told to wait just a few minutes more. 15 minutes later, our 20-mos-old son had a melt-down and we took a cab. For the return portion, we were picked up on time. But we were the first of 11 people being picked up and ended up having a very very long van ride. I would never use them again. NEVER. A cab isn't much more money (especially for couples or more), and it's much faster. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever had!!! I scheduled the shuttle online two days before I went to New York and got a confirmation letter, my visa card was also charged. I printed the confirmation page and checked in with Super shuttle from the airport. It took 10 MINUTES for somebody to pick up the phone and he told me that the shuttle was going to be there in 25 min. After 30 min, I phoned super shuttle again, and they told me that the shuttle would be there in 10 min. Then after 10 min I got a phone call and they told me that their shuttle was not going to my hotel!!!! They told me that it was a system/online error!!! After I waited almost 1 hr at the airport, they told me they were not going there!! (I booked online two days ago, there was an option to my hotel to choose from. I wish i could give them no star for their service. I arranged a car service , and executive suv to pick my family up and drive to the airport. The car was arranged for 4:15am, my family was standing outside on the curb with all their bags for 15 minutes, i called at 4:30 and they said that it would be there in 15 minutes. So at 4:45 i called, transfered, disconnected, finally put some else on the phone who by now is 4:57am and says the following words: " MMMmmm Yea ma'am, mm we have a SITUATION. None of our workers showed up to work today so we wont have anyone to pick you up." AFTER I HAD BEEN WAITING FOR 45 MINUTES?! YOU TELL ME NOW?! THIS IS BY FAR the WORSE COMPANY ive ever seen. SO my family had to take 2 cabs to the airport, and now i had to file a complaint, and wait to weeks to process my claim so maybe i can get my money back, RIDICULOUS, dont take them even if your life depended on it, cause most likely, you would die. read more

I had the worst airport experience of my life, thanks to Super Shuttle. I was picked up close to Times Square in NYC and going to Newark. I was picked up early because the driver said there was traffic. There were 3 older people on the shuttle when I got on. We drove all over NYC trying to pick up more people. The driver was aggressive, rude, and erratic. He was cursing people off, cutting people off and very aggravated, we were at the edge of our seats. He drove in reverse for a half block. When he got out to pick up a pass anger, the customer sitting in front said that the driver had yelled at her because she questioned the one way price versus round trip. We were all saying how scared we were. The driver got furious when he got back in the van and said the passenger had left in a cab. Once we got on the freeway he was going 80 - 90 MPH. I had a phone conversation with a family member while on the shuttle, we were discussing politics. The driver left me off at terminal A in Newark and said terrible things about the political candidate I was talking about, and talked to me about his candidate and why he was better, but I was so in shock I decided not to even engage him. Once I got into the terminal, shaking and speechless from the experience, I realized my airline was not there... The driver has purposefully left me at the opposite side of the terminal. I had to take a train from terminal A to terminal C... with all of my bags! I did contact the company and they were very sympathetic. They gave me a refund. However, the driver is a franchisee owner and they were unable to tell me what measures they would take against him. For this reason and because this lunatic is behind the wheel, I will never take Super Shuttle nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

Pros: Clean van, and no car wrecks. Honestly, the driver was good, when driving. Cons: Over hour late for a scheduled pickup at JFK airport. Then sat in airport parking lot with a full van, without explanation, for 15-20 minutes. No customer service response to questions, and then complaints, about lateness. Rude at drop-off, slammed door in face of exiting passenger without apology. It was slower getting back to Manhattan than the AirTran+subway, more expensive, made me very late to work, and with no explanation, sympathy, or refund. I've had much better experience with The Airporter, and good ol' MTA. read more

I landed in newark airport at 5:00 A.M. We made reservation but they said the shuttle wouldn't pick up until 6:15 A.M. After romping around town dropping everybody off. It's 3 hours we spend after landed to get to the hotel. I'm not happy with the service. It's taking too long. If i would have known this i would find other alternative. read more

I pre-booked a reservation for a flight arriving JFK at 3:20 pm. I waited nearly 30 minutes for a van to pick me up. I realize this service makes multiple stops. However, the driver took me and two others to a loading place with other vans, left the van without saying a word to us and returned about 25 minutes later with another large group of people. Net - it ended up taking over an hour to merely get on a bus and off JFK proper. Never again. read more

While the people on the phone were friendly I had a horrible experience. I expected the shuttle to come within a 15 minute window. I called and listened to a recording stating that my shuttle was 7 miles away after around 30 minutes. After 45 minutes I called and talked with someone and after making some inquiries he refunded my money stating that they were having problems getting a driver to me. The part that sucked the most was that I was not contacted first! I could have waited long enough to miss my flight and no one would have contacted me at all! read more

Super shuttle was convenient. Was a longer ride but expected with other passengers. The only thing I didn't like was the air vents in the van which were missing and the air was blowing directly from the large holes above me so I was freezing. read more

It is much better to take the bus to Grand Central (always leaves on time and in a predictable way). The self-check-in function in my email didn't work, meaning I had to go to the Welcome Desk at LaGuardia and deal with a truly painful process for summoning the shuttle. THEN, after waiting 30 minutes, I got into an over-crowded van (there really aren't 4 seats in that back row, FYI), where I sat for TWO HOURS until finally reaching my hotel. After being courteous to other passengers and not signing in until I had my luggage in hand, I waited over an hour for the shuttle to come. (So basically I waited an hour and twenty minutes just to get in). With the new app allowing you to track where the shuttle is, I was able to see the shuttle waiting for over 25 minutes in one location, meaning another passenger clearly checked in without having their bags, completely disregarding anyone else using the shuttle. Customer service was no help. They had no sympathy, would not send a direct car and then said I'd have to follow a claim to even hope to be refunded. Worst service ever. The one star is for the driver who clearly was trying to hustle and get everyone as fast as possible. read more

I made arrangements to be picked up from the upper east side to be taken to JFK at 4am. My pick up window was between 3:55am-4:15am. The driver was about 11minutes late, but he was very nice and courteous. We arrived to the airport about 2hours before our flight took off. All in all it was a good experience. I just wasn't too happy about the driver being late. I would definitely book with them agains since the service was so cheap and I did get to the airport early enough to make my flight. read more

Hands down the worst ride share experience I've ever had. This review is long, but please take a minute to read it if you're planning on taking Supershuttle. After my experience, I'd honestly prefer walking to the airport over this - it'd be quicker and considerably less frustrating. A few months ago, I prepaid and booked a Supershuttle for 1PM from lower Manhattan - I had an international flight leaving JFK at 5PM that evening. At around noon (I was busy running a few last minute errands and wasn't even home yet), I get a call from the Supershuttle driver saying that he was already at my apartment! What the heck, right? I told him that I entered my flight time and the site said that he wasn't supposed to arrive until 1. Double checked and triple checked the confirmation email - yep, 1 it was. That's fine, he said. I'll just wait for you to get home! What? An hour long wait? I agreed to it, but was slightly confused. On the app, there's a tracker that allows you to see the driver's location; he was indeed in front of my apartment waiting for me. I finished up my errands, grabbed my luggage, and left my apartment at 12:45. No driver to be seen. I called once, called twice, called three times. Nobody picked up, and still no driver in sight. Waited until 1, then 1:15. I go on the app and suddenly it says my ride is completed! What the heck? Did the driver just lie and say that he picked me up without doing so? What kind of a mess is this company even? I kept calling - was anybody going to pick me up? Nope, no response. Ended up taking a $65 Uber to the airport to make my flight. Okay, whatever. Emailed customer service, they refunded me and apologized. I had booked a Supershuttle after my return flight too, so here's their chance to redeem themselves. How it works is that after you pick up luggage and go through immigration and customs, you select "ready" on the app and meet in a pre-designated room for airport shuttles (near the entrance of JFK). I purposely marked ready before I'd even gotten my luggage, since I knew it would take longer than expected. Yep. A full hour of sitting in the waiting room and finally the driver arrives. We pull our luggage outside and to his van. He lifts my suitcase up and puts it in his back trunk, and the insults just start FLYING. He groans and rolls his eyes at me. Your bag is SO heavy, I can't believe I have to carry this! My under 50 lb suitcase is heavy? And you work for an airport ride share company? I'm sorry? After finally getting my "heavy" suitcase into his back trunk (with my help, too), we all piled into the van. Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, 4, 5, and 6. Supershuttle picks up people from all different terminals - something I knew going into the trip, but also an hour long endeavor. Finally, after the van was packed and morale was low, we were ready to leave Queens! How exciting! The driver took the Queens Midtown Tunnel to Manhattan, driving all the way down 2nd Avenue and weaving in and out of 1st to drop people off. I live on 18th and 1st - right in the area - and I asked if he could just drop me off since we were ONE BLOCK AWAY. He completely ignored my request. Two HOURS later of horrific Manhattan traffic and dropping every single person in the van off before me, he turns around and rolls his eyes at me AGAIN. You're still here? Ummm, where would I have gone, sir? He muttered to himself about the long day he's had, grumbling all the way up as he drove towards Stuytown again (you could have dropped me off two hours ago). Once we were finally there, he refused to park near my apartment (even though I live on a loop and it would have only required him inching his van upwards half a block). Still complaining, he got out to "help" me with my luggage. Just kidding, no help at all! He looked at his trunk, remembered that I was the girl with the "heavy" suitcase, and shook his head and refused to lift it. Over it. I grabbed my own bags and went home. My flight landed at 5:30PM and I didn't get to my apartment until 11:15PM. How in the world is any of this okay? Also - for $30? A 6 hour trip from the airport? I could fly halfway across the globe in that time! So not worth it. I'm still so stunned that my experience was as horrible as it was. I hope that Supershuttle gets some better management (or at least drivers with a good attitude). Until then, I'll be taking my $65 Ubers or walking to the airport. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

As you can see from the other reviews here, the chance that you miss your flight and potentially lose hundreds and even thousands of dollars and a lot of time is not worth the little bit of money you save on this service. I used their counter at Javits Center to schedule a ride to Newark Airport and was told the ride would come in about an hour. I waited for an hour and 20 minutes in the SuperShuttle waiting area, got a text message that the ride was there, walked outside and looked and looked, went back inside to ask where the shuttle was (6 minutes after walking outside), and the dispatcher called and was told that the shuttle left. Alfred at the counter tried to help and told his own dispatcher that this was ridiculous, that I was sitting there the whole time and that they should have come in or contacted him, but they refused to do anything. Another guy was also standing there and in the same situation. They tried to get me to take a 4:30 shuttle, which was an hour before my plane was scheduled to depart, so that wouldn't work. We argued with the SuperShuttle service saying they had to do something to get us to the airport but they refused and just waited us out, knowing we would have to eventually run to catch our flights, which is what happened -- we finally had to run outside and flag a taxi down. I spent $90 to get to the airport, wasted an hour and half waiting around at Javits for no reason, and I still have not received the refund that I was promised and that the dispatcher signed for on my receipt. Instead of answering all of the complaints online to appear like they care about customer service, they should just prioritize customer service to begin with. read more

Super Shuttle is the ABSOLUTE WORST! I was ready an hour before pick up time, and headed down when the tracker showed they were around the corner. The driver called the apartment as I was on my way down. Our security guard said that the driver popped in, said he could not wait, and LEFT ME! UNBELIEVABLE!!! With so many options available: Taxi, Air Train, Uber, Lyft, I hope they go out business soon. Totally not worth the supposed savings (no savings for me since I had to take a taxi anyway). Only got one star because of price. It took 3 hours to go 30 miles from LaGuardia to lower Manhattan. First 45 minutes circling airport and we were sent back to pick up one more person after we were on the highway. I will NEVER use this service again. It was a NIGHTMARE taking it from the airport to our hotel. Before even boarding the driver was yelling at me about not having a voucher. I explained the printouts I had were from the travel agency. The print out had the voucher # on it, I had to figure that out on my own- the driver just kept yelling about it not being a voucher. After the 15 minute confrontation and miscommunication we boarded, the driver had the radio blaring and then it went to static and he just left this horrid static on high. Honking and yelling at people on the road, I was so tired from flying all day, 10 minutes in this shuttle and I had a massive headache. 1 hour later, we had driven in a complete circle back to where we started to pick up 1 more passenger. Total it took 2 1/2 hours to travel what should have taken 30 minutes tops. Never again-NYC Airporter is the best!!! read more

I have used super shuttle for decades and have used them all over the country. Sometimes I have the most fabulous of rides, other times they are average but due to the price, I'm always happy. I have even chosen them over other shared rides at the airport even if the wait is longer. however today was a disappointment. At the last minute, noon, my daughter had to travel for work and we ran to book the shuttle online. we were given a departure time of 3:20 to 3:35. I called back to add to the directions (ie the cross street). at 1:46 I got a text that the times were dramatically changed - 55 minutes earlier. My daughter was out buying items for her trip. I called immediately to find out hat was happening. The female customer service rep told me that this was the only time available. Ok, fair enough. But then she went on to tell me that I was supposed to book this 24 hours earlier. My response was: why did the company take the reservation and frankly where is this written or indicated on their website. Clearly it is not. she didn't have an answer. So now I have to cancel it and she said she would. I asked for an email cancelling and was told that the cancellation number is the same as the confirmation number. I said I wanted an email anyway. I was put on hold for nearly 15 minutes and suddenly a recording came on telling me to go to the website to REQUEST A REFUND. This is terrible customer service. why would I have to request a refund, why wouldn't it be automatic. And then I have to wait 7 to 10 business days for my refund.
