He was on time, professional and kind hearted. He served our country and from the 30mins I spent with him he seems like a real awesome person. Reading all the reviews on here, I was really hesitant to call SuperShuttle to provide a ride from Deer Park to JFK. But given we were a party of 6 (me, my wife, my two daughters, and my parents), I had little choice (at least at a reasonable cost). So I opted for a exclusive van. Through the website, the latest pick up time was 5:00am for a 8:47am flight. In that amount of time, I can probably make 2 round trips to JFK from my home. Anyway, I called and asked if I could change the time to 6:00am instead. With no problems, they changed my pick up time. And guess what? The driver showed up at 6:00am! He was courteous, polite, helped all of us with our luggage and reminded/asked us if we remembered all our phones, passports, keys, etc., which I thought was really nice. And in less than an hour, were were at JFK. At this point, I don't understand what all the negativity was about on Yelp. I would have easily given at least 4 stars for the trip to the airport. It was as smooth as can be. So as you may have guessed by now, the return trip was where we had some issues. First, let me say that I like the technology. I got a text message the day of my trip reminding me about my pick up and to encourage me to use the mobile check in. So when I landed and got my luggage, I did just that. I could see the map of the van in relation to where we were. Awesome. The van was in the cargo area and it should be curbside in just a few minutes, right? Well, this guy must have been pushing the van because it took close to 1.5 hours to get to where we were. I live in Suffolk County Long Island and I probably could have driven home and back to the airport faster than this guy took to get from the cargo area to our pick up area outside the terminal. Terrible. It was a late flight. The lines for customs and luggage were already horrible and now we have to wait over an hour for this van? Needless to say, this made all my family members very irritable. I just don't understand how that's possible because I travel a good amount for work and it normally takes my driver 5-10 minutes to get to curbside after I call him. Anyway, I would absolutely do exclusive van pick up again for a large party TO the airport. But for the return trip home, I would avoid it like the plague! read more

Surprised to read all these negative reviews. Maybe I just got lucky? Van showed up exactly on time, driver was very friendly and helpful. Only reason why I didn't give 5 stars, a cab cut him off and he pulled up infront of the cab, blocking him in for a minute or two and than driving really close next the same cab, almost hitting eachother, that was a bit childish but very NY style. hahaha The price is great, I would highly recommend them to my friends. read more

First time user and last time user of SuperShuttle. It wasn't that inexpensive since I live in Suffolk county around 148 round trip. Getting to airport van was on time drove like a maniac but had more than enough time to check in. However going home told 30-40 minutes it's been over an hour and I can see the car on the map took a detour like WTH. I could have been home by now. Will not use them again!! read more

Trip from JFK to my place: 1) The driver broke my luggage which was not in perfect condition, but he broke it completely. 2) I waited OVER ONE HOUR into the car moving from terminal to terminal in an endless journey to pick up passengers before actually starting my trip home. The driver apologized more than once, saying that the Supershuttle operator was telling him to pick up passengers at the wrong terminals, basically we circled around more than once and I guess we went to Terminal 1 at least 3 times! 3) the driver located my address wrongly so that he left people on the westside before me on the east side, specifically right near the bridge he crossed coming from JFK to Manhattan). He knows it was a mistake because he apologized profusely saying that the map was not showing him my true address. I asked for a refund of the trip and Supershuttle REFUSED IT! Unbelievable! NOT A VALUE. You use them because you think you're saving money. But if time is money, and time in NYC is important to you, this is a bad choice. They'll tell you it will be 20 -30 minutes. That's just to get in the shuttle van. What they don't tell you is that they'll drive to all of the terminals until they have a full shuttle. That took another 20 minutes. The van I was in was not clean and had such a rattle you couldn't hear the person sitting next to you. Just my luck I was the last stop on the driver's route (someone has to be). So it took about 2 hours and 10 minutes for the entire process. I will say - everyone who works there was nice, including the driver. Thus the 2 stars. read more

I arrived at LGA and had no arrangements to get to my hotel in Garden City. I expected to catch a shuttle van. LGA's ground transportation called the driver to get an ETA & was told 30 minutes. The driver arrived in :20. He was told that he was on standby to wait for others. I wasn't bothered & was in no big hurry. The wait ended up being a little long though, about :25 min. We ended up waiting for nothing as he got no additional riders. The dispatcher forgot about us. My driver & I got along great, cracking jokes the whole time. I liked him very much. The unnecessary wait went by much faster because of him. Once on our way, the drive went very smoothly. read more

Supershuttle NYC/JFK/EWR is broken. Pre-paid reservation was not being honored and I was asked to join a long waiting line of walk-ins. Missed bus and took a total 2.5 hrs to the city. Inacceptable, it's a big liability for the SUPERSHUTTLE brand that works ok in other cities. read more

No one wanted to help us and the customer service take forever to connect and hanged me off twice when I finally could speak to a human. The customer service never call me back when they ask me to leave my phone number on machine. The lost and found department is fake. Try yourself and be lucky enough to not lost anything on the van. read more

While the staff was nice and the reservation process was simple, the actual pickup and dropoff was another story. If you decide to go this route, make sure you give yourself at least two hours from pickup at the airport to destination...very frustrating. read more

I am shocked at all the negative reviews. I had a 650 am flight out of Newark and after researching several options it seemed that super shuttle was a door to door service that was the least expensive. My pick up was at 345 and the driver was there promptly, had a positive attitude and was jamming to some good music. The only real downside was that I was the first pick up so it did take a while to get to the airport (got here at 5 am and was coming for the ues).. However,nI am a firm believer of you get what you pay for- if I wanted door to door service with no waiting for other passengers I would have taken a 90 dollar yellow taxi. I have used super shuttle service 3 times. I had them come to my place to pick me up at the first time. They were on time, which was good. But when I scheduled for picking up at the LGA airport. It was terrible!! I had them picked up at LGA airport twice and ended up cancel both times after waiting 1.5 hours. It's too rediculous. I don't know what's the meaning for us to schedule/reserve it online if we still have to wait for so long. Seriously!!! 1.5 hours.. If I take subway, I am already home. I have taken Super Shuttle twice recently. Manhattan to Newark Airport. I chose to take Supper Shuttle because New Jersey Transit doesn't run all night, and in both cases, I had an early morning flight from Newark Airport. The first trip it was slightly late, but on my most recent trip, Super Shuttle was an hour late -- at 3 in the morning. The driver couldn't be reached, and the customer service people I spoke to were unsure if he were actually going to show up at all. If not, I would have been stranded without an easy way to get to Newark Airport at 3am on a Sunday. Luckily the driver/van showed up, but I barely made my flight. Lesson learned. I will not use Super Shuttle again. Mainly because the customer service is shoddy at best. read more

Terrible first experience! 745pm-800pm reservation, drivers leaves msg to change pickup time to 730pm. In the cell dead zone at Javits I don't get the msg until 740pm when I step outside to meet van. Called SuperShuttle and was told the "system" said I was already on the van! Dispatch contacted driver who said that I was not there at 746pm so he left w/o me. Customer service says they can't prove where I was when I called so they "try" to get me a refund. They should try to keep their reservations and not hire drivers that are lying sacks of crap. read more

I have to travel to NYC several times. Supershuttle is almost always first choice if I have a flight from or to Newark airport. Service I experienced were pretty good. On time. Pick up in advance is totally acceptable. So far they were never late for my trip. However if you have to go in between rush hours, travel time will be added and it is so hard to predict. Only one time when I was disappointed. When I picked up my family from JFK. He went back and forward to every terminals until van was full, and sure we were the first. It took an hour for this process. Also driver had no idea about manhattan street. It was not fair for travelers who did not know the exact location of their hotel. Once again I took Super Shuttle against my better judgement b/c it was significantly cheaper than a taxi or Uber. Just wanted to share my experience in case it helps other people. When you sign up for SuperShuttle, you are taking a gamble. I have use this company in many different cities. It seems highly variable the experience you get as far as what the wait might be. Here's my experience this time at JFK. Booking online is easy as always. The info is straightforward and you immediately get a confirmation. When I land at the JFK airport, it was pretty straight forward too. The instructions tell you to head down to Ground Transportation. I check in with the guy at the counter, he tells me "25 minute wait for the shuttle". OK this seems all very reasonable and expected. The shuttle gets there about 20 minutes later, so it is already better than expected at the very beginning. However, it turns out that I am the very first passenger. We then proceed to drive to multiple other terminals, with long stops at each one, picking up 10 total passengers. Yes that's 9 additional stops. The shuttle was packed completely full. It had taken over an hour (plus add on the 20 minutes, so that's over 80 minutes wait) and we were STILL at the airport. I had landed at 3:15pm, but by the time that we were finally pulling away from the airport, the traffic is bad, what can you expect on a weekday, right? I guess I just didn't expect to wait over 90 minutes and still not have left the airport. But hey, it's JFK, a big crowded airport. By the time the shuttle driver dropped off the first passenger at her hotel, it was already 3 hours AFTER I had landed. Since the driver wouldn't tell us what order we were going to be dropped off in, I couldn't risk potentially being the 10th passenger to be dropped off. At the rate we were going, it could have been another hour! The drop off of that first passenger took another 5-10 minutes b/c that person hadn't prepaid and apparently didn't have any cash and the credit card machine must have been having issues. During that wait, I decided to hop out of the shuttle (since I had a meeting to catch), tipped the driver and walked the rest of the way. It was only a mile at that point and the weather was nice. When I looked up transportation times, it looked like 30 minute drive vs slightly over an hour to take subway + bus combo. Seems like a good deal with the SuperShuttle, plus I didn't have to figure out the public transportation system. In retrospect, I would have much rather tried to figure out the subway system. I recommend you go that route unless you are carrying a lot of luggage. I only had carryon luggage and the weather was nice that day, so I really should have taken the subway. I would have gotten to the hotel in the time that it took us to just pick up the 9 other passengers and still be sitting at the airport. Of course, hindsight is always 20/20. Of course it could have been not that bad if I had been the LAST one to be picked up, since then you are eliminating 90+ minutes off of the whole wait time at the airport. On the way back to the airport, the ride picked me up slightly outside of the 15 minute window that they gave as an estimate. It was only 5 minutes beyond that window. The customer service rep was very helpful in giving me info on where the shuttle was when I called (which should be easy to figure out in this day and age with smart phones and what not). Since I was the LAST person to be picked up, we headed towards the airport at that point. Because there was some bike race that day and she shut down some of the streets, the traffic was pretty bad, but that only took a total of 60 minutes, much better than the over 3 hours it took on the way to the airport. Bottom line: if you value your time and don't want to risk potentially taking 3 hours to get home, then you should pick something else. If time is not of the essence to you and you don't mind taking that risk of having more than 3 hour commute to home for only 10 miles, then this might be a good option for you. I still gave it 3 stars because it is an ok option and you get what you pay for. I would still consider using them in the future depending on factors such as weather, time of day, how much luggage I have, who I'm traveling with, etc. read more

Could I give zero stars? Left LGA at 1:30 and I'm still in the shuttle 2 hours later. There was no rhyme or reason to how our driver dropped us off. We were in midtown, then Times Square (but not yet mine and another passengers hotel) instead of dropping us off, he took us back down to the financial district. I wanted to scream or jump from the moving vehicle. Terrible experience- never again. read more

Their concern over my bad experience and their willingness to make it right is a big plus in my book. Booked my reservation online and came to the counter where a JFK airport representative told me that I should pick up the self service phone to check in. I did and told that it would be a 30 minute wait as the driver has to make other terminal stops. Fair enough. It's an hour later. Still no driver. I just got off the phone again with a very tired sounding Super Shuttle rep who told me that my driver is about 10-20 minutes away. I'm exhausted after having flown over 24 hours. Don't expect any commitment: We arrived from Mexico to Newark (New York) at 12.45 am. We had the reservation with SuperShuttle made about 1 month ago. When we get the luggage and call them, they say: "we don't have any van available at the moment. We will issue you a refund.". Just like that, no other options. The meaning was: Don't even wait for us. And no apologies. This is the kind of commitment you can wait from them. Consequence: 2 hours of public transportation to Manhattan or $90 of taxi. My hotel booked SuperShuttle to drive us from the Lower East Side to Newark-Liberty this morning, and I was a little nervous because of all the negative reviews here. However, the ride went very smoothly and we got to the airport with hours to spare. The driver was professional and helpful and I would definitely use them again. Worth it to avoid navigating the subways and trains with a full set of luggage, and much more economical than a taxi. And for everyone who says their drivers are rude and drive dangerously... this is New York. You gotta be aggressive and you can't expect everybody to wipe your nose for you every time you sneeze like they do in some other city. read more

If I could give a zero rating I would. Knew I would be getting into Laguardia around 1030pm, so thought I'd book a ride early before hand so I wasn't stuck fighting for a cab. I scheduled a pick up for 1040pm, checked in online at 1050pm and the had the Lady at the welcome centre also call at 1115pm. Having waited and waited, i call super shuttle at 1140, to which they advised i would have to wait at least another hour. I mean are you freakin kidding me. I've been using SuperShuttle for as long as 18 years. They've always come for me on time and brought me back home with no problem. I have always used the shared van and it's never been a problem for me. You have 4 different time frames to choose from for them to pick you up at your house. Last time I picked the latest time and I got to the airport 3+ hours before the plane departure time. SuperShuttle is awesome and even if you don't want the shared van, you can have him come for you by a car and only carry you(of course I wouldn't do that because it's more expensive). I have a flight to catch in December and I already have the reservation booked for supershuttle from now. read more

I took the shuttle from my apartment on the Upper East Side to JFK. I recommend downloading the app, it is super helpful both in booking the trip and in tracking the location of the shuttle, and how much time I had before I needed to take my luggage downstairs. The driver was helpful, on time, safe, and got me to my destination 2 hours before my stated flight time. I entered my flight time as being an hour earlier than it actually was, just in case there was a mishap with the driver being late, traffic, or a lot of pickups. I happened to be the last pickup, so I'm not sure how long the ride takes if you're the first one. I would definitely recommend this service if you are on a budget and needing to get to the airport. It cost me $25 including tip, which is significantly less than a taxi or car service. read more

It may be a few dollars cheaper than a cab, but its seriously better than being crammed in a van full of people, waiting for the driver to drop everyone off one by one, and then finally getting to your destination after a 2.5 hour trip that should only have taken 1 hour. I used their sevice to JFK and regret the decision I made. The time slot I got was 5:00 - 5:15 AM, so I got out and started waiting at 4:59 AM on Tuesday morning. I got a call at 5:01 saying that my pickup was rescheduled to 5:25 AM, which was OK. It was after 5:25 AM that I got so mad. I got outside and waited and waited and waited, no van showed up and nobody called until 5:40AM. It was cold outside in New York, and my family was waiting with me to say good-bye and we were all soooo freezing outside. So, I called their 800 number and tried to talk to someone to see what was going on. There was the usual automated message saying to press one to check the status and it was supposed to direct me to someone to check the status... except that nobody picked up the phone. I called them like 10 times or so, and finally a lady picked up my call. She checked the status and said the van was on site. Huh??? Nooooooo!!!!!! The van finally arrived at my place after 2 minutes, so he was close by when he got the message, so he decided to respond he was there, which was not right. So, the van picked me up at 5:48 AM when I booked the van for 5:00 AM originally. When I asked the driver why he was so late, his reponse was so rude saying it was not his fault. I understand that it is the system that caused this craziness, but he could explain it in a better manner. Overall, the experience was pretty bad and I would never use their service again, ever!!! read more

A friend of mine booked this shuttle to drive us to JFK from Manhattan and after reading the reviews here, I was seriously afraid. However, the shuttle arrived only ten minutes late (totally understandable with the traffic situation here) and the driver was very considerate and did not even charge us for a piece of oversize luggage (bicycle bag). It seems that the experience with this shuttle can be hit-or-miss. read more

I've taken this company to and from the airport so many times but I have no idea why. This past time I had to wait 30 minutes for my driver to show up. He then filled the van past capacity so not everyone had a seat or seat belt (pretty sure that's illegal) . This is seriously the last time I will use them. I'd feel safer in a cab. read more

My last experience, they were only 30minutes late at JFK and filled up their van so the trip from the airport to downtown took 3 hours. When I took it from JFK we dropped people off all over the place in mid-upper manhattan and it took well over an hour to get home, with no traffic. Also, we had to first drive to pick people up at various terminals. So overall, it took a long time to get home. The bus to port authority plus a taxi would've been cheaper and faster. HELLISH SHUTTLE FROM JFK.... The driver was the main reason for our bad experience. He was constantly complaining that our destinations were far apart and he wasn't going to get home until 2 am. He must have complained about it 5-6 times for sure. He kept telling us, "Be prepared. This is going to be a long night. I mean a LONG night!" He complained about the company assigning him to us. He definitely was the opposite of positive customer service. Secondly, he drove so fast and was screeching around corners and gunning the engine and slamming on the brakes for lights. I was on the bench seat edge with nothing to hold onto. I grabbed the seatbelt that was attached to the top of the door and hung on for life. (I have burns on my hands from it) I was being thrown around as he erratically drove to the city. I did not feel safe at all. I have been in taxis all over the world and have had some harrowing rides, but this one takes the cake. He was mad and he was showing it in his driving. It was 11pm and I didn't want to get off in some unknown place or I would have told him to stop and let me off. We followed him on a map and the route he took was questionable. A couple of people slipped him some $$ so they got taken first. One gal changed her destination so we had to turn around and begin again on the route. My daughter and I were #8 on the drop-off route. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get to our hotel. I was so glad to get off. I vowed never to take Super Shuttle again. read more
