This was Jayride Supershuttle. We booked this shuttle to & from JFK & I would never use it again or recommend them to anyone. It wasn't so bad going to the hotel because there was no time constraint, although he drove by our area like 3 times - He had no idea where he was going. Going back to JFK- they wouldn't come at the time we said - they set the time and we would have had enough time, but she was late picking us up, she had to pick up several other people with luggage, and if our plane would have been on time, we never would have made it. We were all stuffed in this little bus with suitcases everywhere, stuck in traffic, trying to make our flight. We told them initially where we were going - it was totally unnecessary that we had to be all stressed out because they wanted more money from other riders. It's not worth it! Here's my husband's take on super shuttle and why you shouldn't ever use them. I interspersed a comment, but in general I agree 100%. So my wife and I flew out of La Guardia airport, and since she has a discount with Super Shuttle through her work, we decided to have them take us to the airport. And that was a mistake. First to the airport. We scheduled our pick-up time at 3:45pm, as our flight left at 6pm. That morning we received a call asking if can have the pick-up at 3:25pm. Awe agreed, why not being nice to them. Then at 2PM they called again. And again. Can you be ready at 2:50pm (an hour earlier than we first booked the pick-up. We could not do it, so we called them and told them so. But it didn't really matter. They said the pick-up will be at 3:25 as planned. But from 2:50 on, they called us (although we worked) and said the driver was there, waiting for us. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't, the phone continued to ring excessively. Until we finally went on the car at 3:10. [[Also, my husband forgot to mention: I asked the driver to sit up front (I get carsick and front is always better). It was empty BTW. He said no, you can sit in the back. I said, I'd like to sit upfront. I'm pregnant. He said, no, you're pregnant so it's better for you in the back. This went on for a couple of minutes back and forth until finally I had to basically threaten him that I would throw up all over his car and he finally agreed.]] But this is not why we write this review. The way back from the airport is the one that make it abundantly clear that if you are a party of two or more, who makes more than minimum wage, you should never take Super-Shuttle from the airport. We landed in JFK and we were ready to leave JFK at 7:35PM. We called Super-Shuttle and they said a driver will be there in 15-20 minutes. So we waited. After 25 minutes we called again. "The driver should be there in less than 5 minutes." He actually was! So in 8:05 (half an hour after we could have left the airport by taxi), we boarded the car. Then, we had just to pick up one more passenger, from terminal 4. So we went there. And then one more passenger from Terminal 8. So we went there. And each time the driver stops, goes and looks for the passenger (calling them by some name, which resembles or not, their actual name) and then go back. And then, just a couple of more passengers. We played around, which terminal it would be. 2? 3? Terminal 4, in which we have already picked up one passenger, was the winner. We completed a full circle of JFK, and our game was changed to when we would leave the airport (if ever). After 30 minutes in the shuttle, that is in 8:35PM we left the airport, finally. It took us an hour to leave the airport using Super-Shuttle!!! My wife and I made the calculation that if we took the taxi when we arrived, we would have been home by that time. The way to Manhattan was free that night. We also made the calculation that a taxi from JFK cost $52, and Super-Shuttle took us $37 (not including tip, which they usually charge you for online without you even noticing). And at least an hour more. And constant circulating around the airport. So yeah, definitely, the 15 bucks we saved using Super-Shuttle, were a lousy saving. So if you are in a New York airport, take the cub, the subway, but don't take Super-Shuttle! read more

Avoid at all costs!! I have been waiting at LGA for over 1.5 hours. Customer service keeps delaying the pickup time by 20 min intervals. My reservation was made in advance online, but it seems that there is no preference for customers who have made a reservation. No compensation, refund, or even an apology has been offered by customer service. Better off taking a taxi or the subway. Will never take super shuttle again. read more

Drivers own their own vans. They pay super shuttle a monthly franchising fee. So whatever's left over, is the profit. This explains why Supershuttle service center does not care about complaints. They make money anyway from the franchise. read more

The driver was very courteous and helpful once the shuttle arrived, however, I ended up waiting almost an hour for a shuttle. I was afraid to pre-book in case my flight got delayed and I couldn't cancel within their window to get a refund. Overall it was a good service and the price was reasonable. read more

DON'T EVEN CONSIDER USING THEIR "SERVICE". We recently moved to NYC and decided to reserve a service with them to JFK, they are NOT RELIABLE, we had to be very early at the airport and made the reservation one week in advance for a 4:50am pick-up, night before at 10pm, they called to say they could only picked us up at a later time, we were not going to make it on time for our flight, had to cancel and make other last minute transportation arrangements, that of course were much more expensive. I wish it was possible to give zero stars for this service. I'm sitting waiting over an hour at JFK when I was told my shuttle would be 20-30 mins until I was picked up. When I ask why I'm still waiting I'm told that shuttles can actually come at "anytime". If you ask more than once you get a response of "just wait". What is the point in giving an estimate?? Next time I will go to the cab line and find 2 people who are going within 10 blocks of me and split the fare. read more

It is now 90 min after I landed (10AM) and we are finally leaving the airport. After checking in on-line I received an interactive real time map of where the van was. It didn't move for 50 min. I waited an hour before being picked up only to argue with the driver bc I wasn't on his list. Didn't matter that I had all the confirmation texts. So far it seems like this guy is completely clueless. Can't wait to see how long it takes me to get to my hotel. Hopefully alive. Thank God I didn't buy a return ticket. Horrible. Checked in with the phone app. Talked to the guy at the welcome center. We saw the car was close by. He said to wait where I was, and they would come and get me. Forty-five minutes later, I am still waiting in the exact same spot, and a different employee comes to check on me. We find out the shuttle left about thirty minutes ago. I have used Supershuttle for the last 3 years going from Albany, NY to Tampa. My most recent trip was terrible. I booked in advance and at the last minute they added someone else to the schedule which caused me to get picked up 45 minutes late. At this point, i had to find another way to the airport because with their schedule i would have missed my flight since i only had 30 minutes to check bag, find gate and board. Will NEVER use them again. Hope Uber is available next time i travel to Tampa. I also requested a refund for the return trip and after 2 weeks i have heard NOTHING. Extremely poor customer service. The worst. Was going to take the train. Decided to "treat myself" to a van service this time. Supershuttle was a huge mistake. Car came 4 hours before the flight Van seats miserably uncomfortable, hurt your back. EARLY am flight, no traffic on the roads. I had to get up an hour earlier for the van, but an hour and a half later, still trapped in this painful seat, in the van, nowhere near the airport yet. We stopped at anothet airport. Driver yammering, passengers worried about missing a flight, because it is taking so long. If I had taken the subway/lirr, I would have been at the airport, gotten an extra hour of sleep, had a faster more comfortable ride, AND saved about ten bucks. Supershuttle is the worst. I'll keep it simple: booked a shuttle for 3.30am. Received a phone call, waking me up, at 2am and they asked me if I could be picked up at 2.30am. Politely declined. The rung my doorbell at 3am and told me they were downstairs. I explained that I wasn't ready and reminded them that they were picking me up at 3.30am. Received a phone call at 3.15am telling me the shuttle is at my door. I hurried downstairs to find no one there. Waited til 3.30 am to call the office - "they are a few minutes away" they tell me. I call again at 3.45am - "you've already been picked up", they tell me. To cut it short, I had to pay 65 bucks on a taxi instead. Supershuttle refuse to refund the fee, as they believe somehow the fault lies with me. Unbelievably terrible service. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I will say this: when I lived in San Diego, I had a really good experience with Super Shuttle for the daytime shifts (4 am= dangerous drivers) for extremely reasonable rates and very efficient drop offs. That said, clearly, each SuperShuttle business must be a franchise-- which would explain the severe differences between San Diego and New York in terms of quality of service. This is hands down the worst transportation service I have ever paid for. I will preface with this: I always take the reliable M60 to and from LGA and only took the Super Shuttle from LGA because I flew in in early April at midnight and my family was concerned for my safety at that hour and I didn't want to trouble them by having them pick me up at such a late hour. I was originally told my shuttle would arrive in 20 minutes by the Port Authority guy-- it showed up after 45 minutes-- I repeatedly told the arranger that I was paying by debit card no less than 3 times when he asked me 3 times. When I finally got into the van at close to 1:00 am, wondering if I should have just hired a cab or taken a bus, there were 2 women already in the van who had been there for almost 2 hours. I repeat, almost 2 hours. I had the privilege of spending at least another hour in that circle of hell of constant safety and legal violations. 1) The driver spent another 3/4 of an hour picking up more clients, bringing the total to 9 people. While circling in La Guardia, he violated traffic rules in front of a police vehicle who flashed him and turned their siren on him--- and he REVERSED INTO TRAFFIC as he was legally not supposed to enter that way. 2) He was also driving WITHOUT THE HEADLIGHTS ON at 1:00 am in utter darkness when there were plenty of vehicles (oncoming and otherwise) at that time. He did not use a GPS or organize everyone's dropoffs per the shortest, most efficient route which shuttle drivers, in my experience, usually do, which exacerbated the time spent in the van by everyone. He also appeared extremely incompetent at getting out of Queens-- seriously, if you are a shuttle driver, and you don't use a GPS in an industry where it's de rigeur-- you need to be fired. The driver was disorganized, inefficient, dangerous, and rude. When I was released at my destination he refused my debit card and insisted on cash-- I told him that I clearly said 3 times to the person who arranged the ride that I was paying by CARD not by cash. Furthermore, he didn't tell me how much was owed (I was originally quoted $23)-- I was so damn angry, I paid a transaction fee at an ATM and nearly threw the money at him. It was way too much money that I gave to this service. Leaving the city, I made sure to take a ride on the M60, my tried and true mode of transportation to the airport that has never let me down and is thrice as fast as paying a shuttle service (which costs 10x bus fare) for it. That said, the outcome here was: my family's fear for my safety at night should not have been of public transportation, but private transportation that imperiled my life. read more

What a terrible experience! My boyfriend and I arrived at JFK at 10:14 today. Our reservation with Super Shuttle was 11pm. We had enough time to get our luggage and wait for the shuttle as we charged our phones. When we checked in it was 10:45pm. Super Shuttle said they would arrive in 20 min. Ok. That's great! But then it turned 12am and still no sign of Super Shuttle. They kept us waiting for an hour! Then my boyrfriend and I finally got in a van and there were two other people who said they been waiting for an hour and a half! All four of us waited in the van for another 20 minutes while the driver who was such an a$$ waited for 2 other passengers that didn't even make reservations! Then as we thought he was ready to take us all home he goes to 2 other terminals and picks up 3 other passengers who either made a late reservation or didn't make a reservation at all! Myself, my boyfriend and the two original passengers were completely pissed off. I voiced my frustrations with the driver. How can he make us wait when we made prior reservations and already paid? Then he started to drop off people but he was dropping off people who he picked up without a reservation first! I was completely pissed off because those people didn't have to wait as long as we did. My boyfriend and I did not get home until 1:45am! We should have taken a yellow taxi and would have been home by 11:30pm! The drivers are so disorganized and just plain rude. They have nothing but BS excuses and are so unprofessional. Super Shuttle needs to really train their employees and use better customer service practices. Teach your employees not to jerk customers around! This is not my first issue with Super Shuttle. When we departed for our trip 5 days ago our plane was 3 hours delayed. We landed at 3am. Super Shuttle didn't even show and their business was closed after 5pm so we couldn't even call, My boyfriend and I had to take a taxi that charged way more! I landed at LGA at about 5:00 pm on a Friday. Used the app to let them know I was ready to be picked up, and got a call from the dispatcher telling me the super shuttle was late, it would be over an hour and I could cancel my reservation with a full refund. No, I said, I made a reservation and am counting on you to get me to my hotel. After another offer to issue a full refund, it dawned on me that they had no intention of picking me up, in an hour or ever, and I was on my own to get into Manhattan. I did get the refund and I did get to the hotel. I assume I was the only pickup and they weren't going to send a shuttle for one person, reservation or not. Go ahead, try these guys. Only 1 star for my pick up experience from JFK to Manhattan. I was on that shuttle for 3 hours!!!! I understand that there were a few stops and traffic can be heavy, but 3 hours, really! My family kept texting me wondering where I was. The driver was courteous and helpful. After much consideration, we decided that I would keep the reservation and have them take me back to JFK yesterday morning. The driver was courteous and helpful as well. I explained my concerns about being on the shuttle 3 hours, and he said that wouldn't happen on this trip! And he was right! He seemed much more knowledgeable and organized. Never, never, NEVER again! Was told they'd be there in 20 minutes. Took 1 hour and 5 minutes (with 2 more calls) to get there. I found out later that they always say "20 minutes" or less, no matter how long they know it will take. Then we had to make stops all over JFK picking up more people until the van was packed full. Called at 6:25. Pulled out of the airport at 8:07. Then the driver took a back street "long cut" through the streets of Queens to avoid paying tolls. My first and last time using SuperShuttle. I'd rather walk, take the $15 bus to Grand Central, an over priced taxi, or the train. I arrived at Newark Airport after a 20 hour flight late at night. No SuperShuttle employees were in the arrival area near the transportation. I found a SuperShuttle van and asked what to do. He gave me a number to call. The operator was extremely unhelpful and rude. He told me I needed to go find an employee at the airport. I asked if he could radio the person because I had 5 suitcases and just landed from a 20 hour flight. All I wanted to do was go home and sleep. Luckily the van driver, who gave me the number, radioed the employee somewhere in the terminal. I had to wait for another van even though this van was completely empty. I waited one hour for a van to pick me up. Then another hour to be dropped off. The van driver I had was rude when I tried to give him the best directions to drop me off in front of my apartment. Lower Manhattan can be a confusing place to navigate, especially with Occupy Wall Street protesters and random streets blocked off. Save your time, money, and headache by using anyone but SuperShuttle. read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would but yelp doesn't let me do that therefore it gets a 1 star. I joined yelp so I could write this review!!!! I feel bad for tourists who don't know about yelp and have to suffer through the experience!!! However those of you who do know yelp and are reading this. DONT MAKE A MISTAKE and take this shuttle!!!! We landed in JFK, got picked up at 4:30. They proceeded to pick up passengers for 45 minutes driving from one terminal to another and then back to the first terminal where we were picked up. Then the driver parked the car with the car full of passengers and left for 20 minutes at which point we had had it and left the car!!!! They were trying to fill up the last two seats in the car and were waiting for more people to book!!!! They try and maximize their shuttle and will keep you on their pick up schedule for as long as 1.5 hours before they even leave the airport!!! Unbelievably horrible service and horrible driver! For $23 take Carmel (212.666.6666) which is only $15 more expensive or the bus which is $18 and doesn't stop at a hundred places trying to fill every seat! They really should be shut down! All I can say is never again. I had a 7pm flight leaving from LaGuardia and booked a Super Shuttle to pick me up at my job near Church Street at 4pm. I was outside on time and proceeded to stand there for a full 45 minutes waiting for my van. As if this was not bad enough, once I was finally picked up, the driver proceeded to drive around for another 45 minutes making five more pickups in lower Manhattan, with the last stop literally two blocks from where he'd picked me up. Thus an hour and a half from my scheduled pickup time I was basically right where I'd started and in danger of missing my flight. (I'd booked my pickup with rush hour traffic and airport security in mind) The other passengers, also delayed, staged a mini-mutiny and began frantically dialing Super Shuttle from their cell phones to complain. We were assured that Super Shuttle would pay the cost of anyone's missed flight. But honestly, who wants to rely on that kind of guarantee when they could have already been safely at the airport with time to spare if they had just been picked up on time? The aforementioned trip was the straw that broke the camel's back. Previous experience has shown me that Supershuttle is really for tourists travelling from NYC airports to midtown hotels. They assess a surcharge of at least $20 per person for pickups above 110th Street and the outer boroughs. I once paid $60 to travel from the Bronx to LaGuardia; had I known I could have hired a private taxi service sans the additional pasenger pickups for the same money. They've also refused to make drivers available for 4:30am pickups required to meet 6:00am flights. If Supershuttle seeks to credibly market itself as an airline ground transportation company, their hours of operation ought to correspond with airport operating hours. read more

POOR Review!!! Planned round trip from Home to LGA; LGA to Home. First part was just fine. Friendly driver, timely, clean van, etc. Coming home was a nightmare. Despite having scheduled a pick up and providing airline info, there was no van when I arrived. They texted me as soon as I landed. They even asked at some point if I had deplaned. Setting an expectation that once I reached curbside or shortly thereafter for sure, there would be someone waiting for me. Did not happen. The purpose of booking round trip is to make certain that there will be no wait upon arrival. Otherwise, one can merely walk to the curbside and hail also affordable transportation. After waiting for nearly an hour, I demanded a refund and found other transportation home. It was midnight, I was tired, had to go to work the next day. So needless to say, I was deeply disappointed... I was refunded only half my reservation fee. I felt that since they did not complete the contract I should not have paid for any portion of the contract. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE Service!!! Given that SuperShuttle has been in the game longer than most others and since competition is so steep and readily available (Uber, Lyft, MTA and such), I was astonished... I have recently used service from Newark International. It was not a problem. PERHAPS the problem is LaGuardia. Airport staff conveyed that this in not an unusual complaint about SuperShuttle. We had booked the EXECUCAR from Newark airport to Manhattan for 128.00. The driver never showed up after our flight was delayed. We waited for an hour.. called, and they could not even give a time for the car to show up. This was 2 a.m and it was after a stressful flight. So we asked them to cancel and took LYFT for 70.00. Lyft showed up in five minutes. It is one week since.. I filed a complained.. multiple calls and holds .. and I still have not received a refund. Will never take supershuttle again. There is a reason LYFT and UBER are so popular. It is quick and you only pay when you receive service.. not before. Don't waste your money on this service. read more

My daughter had a Super Shuttle reservation going to Canada from LGA. The van was supposed to pick her up between 6:15 and 6:30. As she was going down the elevator, the van called to let her know she would be picked up AN HOUR later. I called their customer service and they kept me on hold forever. When she finally came back on the line, she advised that the dispatcher said that the van would be here between 6:30-6:45 ----It was already 6:35---When I asked for a refund, Elaine informed me that I couldn't get one as I hadn't given them 2 hours notice!! At 6;45 no van had shown up and my daughter was forced to grab a cab. I spoke then spoke with Jasmine, Elaine's supervisor who told me that I would be issued a credit in 3-5 business days but I called my c/c company anyway. Super Shuttle might work well in other cities, but it is a disaster here in NY. read more

Awful. Just used this service on 12/23/13 to go to JFK. The driver was 7 minutes early so I had to scramble to get downstairs. When I arrived, the one other passenger said I was lucky because the driver was about to leave. We proceeded to pick up several other passengers and after he did, the driver started heading uptown. I was wondering why he wasn't taking the Queens Midtown Tunnel and when I saw he was headed for the 59th St. Bridge, I asked him if the van was going to JFK. He said he was going to LaGuardia first. WHAT??? I ordered the van for JFK. I told him I was concerned that I would miss my flight and he asked me what time my flight was and whether it was domestic or international, not that it mattered at that point. He told me not to worry and that I'd make my flight. He was argumentative and told me I was seven minutes late, but my pick up time was 4:37 a.m. and he was there at 4:30. I decided not to get into it with him because I didn't want him sabotaging my trip and he had been argumentative with another passenger earlier. So we drove all through LGA dropping off passengers and the clock was ticking. And it was raining. Finally got to JFK and, as expected, the terminal was packed with holiday travelers and I still had to check my bag and go through security. I did make my flight with little time to spare no thanks to SuperShuttle. Also, the van smelled like old stale farts. Couldn't even open a window. The driver spoke English poorly and had no customer service skills. The other bad experience I had with this company was going from JFK to Manhattan. Once in the van, we waited and waited and waited until the van was full with passengers. We waited so long that one of the supervisors gave everyone a discount coupon to use for future trips. Confident woman. OK, with a full van we proceeded to Manhattan. We were on the BQE and I could see the entrance to the Queens Midtown Tunnel up ahead. Finally, I would be home soon. Or so I thought. All of a sudden, the driver bangs a right off the BQE and we started heading north through Long Island City. What the heck was he doing? While in Queens, the driver made a stop, got out of the van and left us waiting there. Guess he had a personal errand to run. Back in the van, this guy heads towards the 59th Street Bridge. Did I mention that tolls are included in the price? Who's pocketing that money? We finally get into Manhattan and he starts to head downtown to make his first drop, which, as it turns out, is in the area of the Queens Midtown Tunnel exit. I was the last person to be dropped off. My flight had arrived just before 5:30 and it was now 7:45 pm, so it took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get home from the airport. Why? My advice to anyone thinking of using this service is to walk to the airport before you get in one of these vans. The bus service is much better and the only reason I didn't take it is because it doesn't give door to door service. But, if the bus says it's going to JFK, it's going to JFK and not LaGuardia first. And they do take the Queens Midtown Tunnel. After that, it's a short cab ride from the Grand Central Station area to various parts of Manhattan. I just want to mention that when I returned from my recent holiday trip, I took a cab home. Door to door it took 40 minutes and it didn't smell. read more

We booked our ride the morning of our flight which may have been a little late. However the description on the website makes it sound like the shuttle will come rather quickly after you land and this was not he case. We waited over 30 minutes before we got in the van. Not a very friendly driver and the van itself dos not feel 100% safe. In the absolute best case scenario this service will act like a taxi but you run the risk of waiting a very long time, especially if you are not the first group dropped off. I would have preferred to get a taxi. read more

This is a RAVING review about Super Shuttle! We had a mix-up in NYC with our pick-up location returning to the airport. It was entered in wrong via the web. The morning of our shuttle our driver texted us and we realized the error. I called customer service, they reached out to the driver and they re-routed him to come get us. He came promptly even though it was over 20 blocks. We were traveling from Midtown Manhattan to Newark Airport. Worst service period. Driver could barely formulate words with slang. Zero courtesy, waited in vehicle for other passengers for 45 min. Was then told i was rerouted into another vehicle. Dropped back off with promise of helping find my next ride. That never happened. New ride was asleep in a parking lot 15 min away. That time came and went. Called and got a refund. An absolute joke of a company. Waited 1 hour to get picked up at the airport and the driver had the nerve to give me attitude after not tipping him. Waited 40 minutes to get picked up from our hotel to the airport. If you think LA drivers are bad, NYC drivers are THE WORST drivers in the world period. Was scared for my life a couple times in both rides. Take a cab. It's a much better option. read more

Horrible service. Won't recommend at all. We got off at JFK and were told the driver will be there in 20-25 mins. After 45 min wait, I called them back and they said another 15 mins. The driver showed up after more than an hour had passed and this is after making the reservation online with the flight details. But the story didn't end there. He made us wait for another 25 mins for other passengers to show up. Then he drove around for another half an hour at different terminals trying to get more customers (which he didn't manage to). Overall, it took us 3.5 hours to get home from JFK to downtown NYC. Definitely not worth the hassle. read more

A horrible experience. They lied about how long a wait-time before pick up. I was at the airport a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes before the van actually left the airport. And then it drove to 5 different neighborhoods East and West all over NYC. The van was shabby, needed new shock absorbers. and made a lot of noise as it rode. It was a two hour nightmare until I got to my door. If your time is completely free, and you are in no rush to get to your destination, then fine. For me it was a frustrating waste two hours. Use other transport; even a turtle might get you there faster. read more
