That was easily the worst shuttle service I've ever used. Just spend the extra money and take a cab! When we arrived at JFK, we ended up waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF before our shuttle finally arrived! And the women working at the "customer care" kiosks clearly couldn't care less that we were still sitting there after all that time. Twice I went up to ask where the damn shuttle was, and both times I was told "less than ten minutes". Ha! Not to mention that I was clearly interrupting their cell phone time with my question. But the waiting didn't end once the shuttle arrived! Once we finally loaded into an almost full shuttle (2 seats left), the guy just waited there, chatting with another driver! We started talking with the other passengers, and found out that a family of four from Australia had been stuck in that shuttle for over an hour, driving from terminal to terminal, trying to fill the van up... And they'd been traveling for over 30 hours!! Finally the guy started driving, and had to go pick up more people before he could finally take us into the city. When the dad of the Aussie family complained, the driver blamed the dispatchers: "They are all Spanish, so they only give fares to Spanish drivers!" So clearly he is the victim in all this. We eventually got to our hotel, well over two hours after we landed. We'll be canceling our return ride, because we really have no idea if we will make our flight!! Avoid at all costs!!!!!! Last evening I arrived at JFK around 12:45AM. I had booked my flight months ago and made a reservation with Super Shuttle at that time. While waiting for my luggage I called Super Shuttle from my cell phone and waited on hold for 25 minutes. I collected my luggage and walked over to the ground transportation phone. While still on hold I dialed 29 for Super Shuttle. Someone immediately answered. I told them I had a reservation and would like to know where the Shuttle would be picking me up. The rude lady informed me they did not have a driver and that it would be at least 90 minutes. It was now after 1 AM and I was supposed to wait until at least 2:30!?!?! What a joke of a company Dont use them unless you like to sit at airports for hours on end after your flight My aunts came to visit me with my elderly grandmother and my 6 year old cousin, they flew back and got into LaGuardia airport on time (their plane had no delays, they were there exactly as scheduled) Their only mistake was that they made a reservation with SuperShuttle to be picked up after their flight and driven back home. SuperShuttle never called them to tell them anything, and when they were finally able to get a hold of someone at SuperShuttle they were told it would be 2 hours before a driver could come get them Then SuperShuttle told them they could cancel their pickup and use another method to get home and they would be refunded for their canceled SuperShuttle trip. That was a very reasonable and nice way of handling the unfortunate situation So my aunt canceled her reservation with SuperShuttle and got an Uber ride scheduled to come get them OH BUT NO! Now that the reservation had been canceled my aunt was told there would be no refund! So now she has to pay for the SuperShuttle that never came and her Uber ride that actually took her home?? Shes been at the airport a while now, (it took a long time to reach SupseShuttle to begin with!) she needs to get her young son and elderly mother home, and now she has to pay for two expensive rides home (SuperShuttle and Uber) and SuperShuttle will not be refunding her for not picking her up when scheduled? This has been booked, paid for, and the driver had already been given a tip in advance!!! SuperShuttle is terrible, they lie, and they dont pick you up. Use ANY other company. read more

Do yourself a favor, and never ever ever use this Super Shuttle. Take public transportation, a taxi- really just about anything else if your time is worth something to you, because it certainly isn't worth anything to them. I made an appointment online to have a Super Shuttle get me from LGA at 1:30am, my flight from Chicago had been delayed, so this was the estimate. In making the appointment they asked for my flight information, so I assumed they would see if any further delays ensued... We arrived at 1:45am, I immediately called the service, looking for my ride, they give me an estimate of 45 minutes! This was already ridiculous, but I really didn't want to pay for a cab, so I decided to stick it out. 3am rolls around, I give them 10 more minutes, and call again. This time they give me 20-30 mintues! At this point I'm pretty furious and explain to them that over an hour ago someone told me it would be 45-minutes, which was already ridiculous, what the hell!? They basically have no answer. As it's now 3am, and the airport is essentially empty, I grumble back into my seat and figure fine, what's another 20 minutes? As 4am creeps closer and closer, I'm counting down the minutes until I literally flip out and tell them to forget it. At this point I might as well just wait for it to get light out and take the bus. Scarcely moments before I placed the call to unleash my fury and cancel, the driver walks in. I was the only passenger. To his credit, the driver was nice enough. But by this point I was really in no mood for nice. I explained to him what had happened, and he asked why I hadn't taken a cab. Seriously?? I told him I absolutely would have, had I not been lead to believe I would be waiting for considerably less than over 2hrs. Then he stopped to gas up his van.... Then, he tells me I'm lucky, because he was supposed to get someone else before me to go to JFK, but she wasn't ready yet, so he had then come to get me. I was lucky!? DISCRIMINATION PRACTICES not only condoned but completely ignored by Company headquarters and dispatching management. I had a 1400 reservation for trip from EWR to Manhattan hotel. I checked in online when I landed, and followed the email directions to the curb area. There was no SS pick up at the door the directions indicated. Went back into terminal to the SS area and was told "We CAN NOT help you once you have checked in online." They wouldn't even give me directions to the right curb pick up location. No kidding !!! So i just waited and followed the girl out on the next group of people she walked to the shuttle. Meantime - I get phone text with driver # and van #. Wait 50 mins. Driver finally comes by, slows up and doesn't stop --- but we make eye contact, so I know he sees me. He never fully stops but pulls to area where I can't walk. Within one min he pulls away and I got another text with new driver #(2) and van #(2). About 30 mins later, repeat. New text with driver # (3) and van #(3). Now I am two hrs past my reservation, freezing my butt off outside, no help from counter and drivers that are deliberating NOT picking me up. Another driver shows up, not my number --- and I explain what I was experiencing. He asks to see the address where I m going --- then without batting an eye. Your address -- they'll skip it. Too long, not enough money in tip. I called SS and asked for manager. When I got the manager, I asked for his manager and the most senior level of management on duty. Got the run around - but eventually i spoke to someone and explained the events, that I had all the texts, emails and even photos of vans 2 and 3 - hanging out in the non-ped area. Evidence seemed to freak them out. Now the driver who was not my driver, all of sudden gets call and says he will be assigned to my trip. He puts his hands up -- but is nice to me. But then tells me there are 4 other customers that land in 30-50 mins so we'll have to wait for them first. (I am at 3 h :10 mins by this time) Luckily it is only 30 mins before all 5 of us are packed up and ready to go. I called back to SS and asked why i had to wait another (potential) hour -- and they said everytime the drivers wouldn't pick me up -- my "clock" for pick up was basically RESET. So in their logs I was only waiting 20 or so mins vice the 2+ hrs. After arriving at my hotel 5 hrs later..... before I was dropped off (last one) all 4 other customers were dropped off and 3 more were picked up !!!!!!!! YGTBFSM. I did some homework. Turns out -- SS and its drivers broke the LAW not once, twice but three times..... by doing the text assigned driver and then refusal of service.... http://www.nyc.gov/html/tlc/html/faq/faq_pass.shtml#13 * Refusal Law (applies to taxi and limo services which is what SS is considered) From Driver Rule 54-20 (in PDF): It is against the law to refuse a person based on race, disability, or a destination in New York City. A taxicab driver is required to drive a passenger to any destination in the five boroughs. You can make a refusal complaint by calling 3-1-1. Update: SS refunded me one way fare for the RT reservation. But I took all the emails, screen captures of text with driver name, number and van number (with full times --- records easy to check) and voice recordings of phone conversations with "manager" and burned to disc... and sent off the both the DOT and NYC transportation departments. Good luck renewing your license to operate at EWR Super Shuttle !!!! And I hope all 3 drivers lose their license, get fined --- or better yet, both. read more

Am I going to get my butt kicked for having a great experience? We had the concierge call the day before from the hotel. It took about 10 minutes and we pre paid with her. Tip included was $82 bucks. The limo was in front of the hotel on time, the driver was now where to be found. Having a smoke on the side of the building. The town car was new and very accommodating. Heated back seats, radio and temperature controls at your finger tips. He got us to the airport driving like a human being should in record time. DO NOT USE SuperShuttle in New York!! They are very disorganized and poorly managed company! I think they shouldn't be doing any business in NY! Below is what happened. At 1:00AM, I checked-in online using my phone. At 1:00-15AM, They sent multiple texts, but every text had differrent Vehicle Number (see my photo) It was strange. At 1:15AM, I called the dispatch using the built-in phone at the Welcome Center at Terminal 4 Domestic to make sure they know I checked-in and waiting to be picked up at the Welcome Center. .... At 2:30AM, I waited 1 hour 30 mins and I called dispatch, then she told me the driver has already left to the city!! She contacted the driver but the driver LIED to the dispatch, he went to the Terminal 4 Domestic where I was waiting. I was standing all the time and looking at the hall. The way how the arrival center was designed, you just cant miss anyone in SuperShuttle blue shirt. The person at Welcome Center and the Security person standing there, we all saw nobody came to pick me up. At 2:45AM, I gave up with this stupid company took a taxi back to the city. ($70 incl. tip) At 3:20AM, I got home in Upper West Side. I have already and filed formal complience to the SuperShuttle and I hope they will refund my money. And I am also planning to file the complience to Better Business Bureau. I hope the company will do something to the lying driver and the nasty dispatch lady. You know how some people are so hardcore they never give five stars for anything, well I'm that way about one stars. I just don't hand them out to anyone, this is my second one star rating. I try not to use the word fuck in my reviews too. I wish I would have read Yelp, live and learn. I book my shuttle for an 8a flight, she tells me to be ready at 450a. OK, I can dig it, I don't mind getting to the airport early, I could have a cup of coffee and relax. So I am down in the lobby around 430a, in case they happen to be early, you know, no time like the present. Wrong. He arrived around 520a. Gee thanks. Then when I get into the van, he has the radio turned to a normal to loud level, like when you are by yourself and then I'm in the backseat behind the backseat, so it's blaring. I tell him he has to turn the radio off or I need to get in the front seat. He was from a country where woman do not tell him what to do and he promptly told me that it's not loud. When someone is unreasonable and not polite, it trips my trigger, turn that radio down. It was blaring commercials for ten solid minutes. He even turned up the music up to thumping and said "this is loud." What a dick. I had earplugs because I went to see Ice Cube the night before, so earplugs in my ears, I was fine. The poor girl in the van, finally asked him to turn it down. Then we traipse all over Manhattan to pick up three more people. Finally we pick up the last lady and he freakin' says something about LGA. I ask incredulously, "we're going to LGA & JFK?". I about lost it. I'm thinking, I need to get a cab. So I asked him, are we going to LGA first, he told me no. Then what do we do? Drive to fucking LGA. HORRIBLE - DO NOT USE !!!! We used this service upon arrival to New York and going back to the airport. They were an hour late when picking us up and it took them two hours to get us to our hotel near 37th and Broadway from LaGuardia for a total amount of three hours. There was also an elderly woman escorted by an assistant to the shuttle who told us she had been waiting at the airport for two hours. Ten minutes into the heavy traffic, it was discovered the woman was on the wrong shuttle. The driver pulled over near an on-ramp with construction and heavy traffic, fetched the woman's bag from the back of the van and pointed her in the opposite direction where she had to carry her bag to walk back to the airport. It was 87 degrees and sweltering hot. To add insult to injury, the shuttle driver then complained to everyone in the van about how long we had to wait for that woman, and implied that it was her own fault that she got on the wrong shuttle. The drivers were not very friendly. After a being in the shuttle for two and a half hours with three more stops to make, I politely asked what the best stop was (since there was no communication with anyone in the shuttle about where we're going next until he pulled over on a busy street and barked the name of a hotel) to which the driver responded in a short tone and angry face that he needed to get to Midtown first. The driver on the return leg was also not very friendly or communicative about what was happening. They try and make four pick ups to fill each van - which I understand - but the pick ups outside the airport seem totally random and take HUGE amounts of city driving time -terribly terribly inefficient. I've been using Supetshuttle for years. The last time was yesterday coming from Newark Airport to my home in Manhattan. Considering that a taxi would have been about $100 and this was $26 including tip I didn't mind putting up with the crowded shuttle. Very nice driver. Will always use them. read more

Been a customer for 10 years and I am finally accepting that supershuttle has horrible service and customer service. Biggest tip if you decide to use them is never pay online. You will never get a refund no matter if it's your fault or not. It's you versus their machine and for some reason humans matters less to them. The reason why I was a customer for the past ten years was bc of the cost. I paid for what I got. I am quitting them because I paid for service I never received, they called the customer a liar, and wouldn't check the status of my shuttle when requested. Customers always lose. When I told them I've been with them for 10 years they came back with a backhand 'i see you only spent x amount in the past 6 months'. That does not mean I haven't been using the service for the past 10 years. Poor moves supershuttle. And of course, this isn't the first time you've heard of this. 4 out of 5 stars? Based on the other reviews you've read on this page, you're probably wondering if I made a mistake. Surprisingly I haven't! Recently took a family vacation to NYC. It was our first time, and after making hotel and flight reservations, I needed to figure out how to get us from LaGuardia to our hotel in Chelsea. Found HORRIBLE reviews for SuperShuttle and pretty much every other transportation service I could find. Being completely unfamiliar with the area and not wanting to take a cab or the subway, I decided to just take my chances and made a reservation with SuperShuttle for transportation from LGA to our hotel and back. We arrived around 11:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. Our scheduled pick-up time was around 11:30 p.m. Followed the instructions, called SuperShuttle from the ground transportation area at LGA, and was immediately told that it would be "at least" 45 minutes until we were picked up. I immediately started kicking myself, remembering all the horror stories I had read on Yelp about 2- and 3-hour delays. I told my family that if the shuttle didn't come in 45 minutes as promised, I would call, demand a refund, and pay for a cab. 45 minutes later, to my surprise, the shuttle arrived! There were already a couple people in the van, plus my family of 4, plus several other people also waiting, adding up to about 11 people. With that, the van was full and, after waiting about 10 minutes for the driver to figure out how he would drop everyone off, we were off! Arrived at the hotel shortly after. Total time from reservation to drop-off: 1.5 hours. We weren't necessarily in a huge rush to get to the hotel, so we were happy. The driver helped us with our bags and seemed friendly enough. Nice big sigh of relief. (Something to note: we were second dropped off despite other people having been in the van before us. Guess we lucked out. Keep in mind that you could possibly be picked up first and dropped off last. Bring a book to read or something, lol.) Day of departure was the following Saturday. Having read reviews of delays and people missing flights, I decided to schedule our pick-up for 9 a.m. even though our flight out of LGA wasn't until 1:40 p.m. Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call stating the van would be arriving 15 minutes early! Driver showed up like clockwork, helped us with our bags, and then proceeded to pick up several other passengers. We arrived to LGA around 10:30 a.m. Total time from reservation to drop-off: 1.5 hours again. Another big sigh of relief, and plenty of time to spare before our departing flight. Overall, I was completely satisfied with my experience. Considering this is a shuttle service in a highly congested area, I don't consider the time we spent waiting to be excessive, and the price was great. One thing I think might be helpful to check out if you do choose this company: their "Where's My Van?" service (https://m.supershuttle.com/Default.aspx?content=WhereIsMyVan). Type in your confirmation number and you can see, on a map, your van's location in relation to your pick-up point. When you're told the van is 15 minutes away, this can help you to determine if that's a legitimate claim or a flat-out lie (allowing you to come up with a good plan of action accordingly). I was able to use it on my phone and see the van getting closer (which definitely put me at ease), as opposed to wondering where in the hell it was. Would I use the company again? Sure. But I would still make sure to allow for plenty of travel time. In other words, don't schedule them to take you to the airport 1 hour before your flight. Pick the earliest time available just to be safe, and be ready to wait for other passengers. Bring your headphones or a magazine or something. Be prepared to wait and be prepared for a trip lasting at least 1.5 hours. If you keep these things in mind and schedule yourself accordingly I think you'll be fine. Thanks SuperShuttle! read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Please shoot me if I ever consider taking SuperShuttle ever again in hopes of saving a few bucks. After a 10 hr international flight the last thing you would want to do is wait 3 hrs to get home, but that's exactly what happened. I landed at 6 am this morning (saturday) and Immigration/customs and baggage was a total breeze. I had reserved the super shuttle prior to my trip so I thought the van would be waiting for me and i would be on my way home! WRONG!!! I went to the weclome service desk, checked in and then was told to wait for my driver. after 45 minutes, i called super shuttle to see how much more i had to wait. Apparently, the driver was there, but never came to get me (i was told to wait for him/her to call my name when i checked in). I was the the first to get picked up and so we had to go all over JFK to pick up the rest of the guests. I told the driver if I could be dropped off first and he agreed. I took a peek at his itinerary on his tablet and it was totally doable. There were 3 downtowners and 3 midtowners. As long as he took the BQE and got into the city via williamsburg bridge, it wouldn't have been a hassle or out of the way. Due to whatever thought process the driver had going on, i ended up being one of the last to be dropped off (he decided to take the queensboro bridge). So 6 am landing 6:30 am supershuttle checkin 7:20 am pick up 9:00 drop off at apt. Does that sound like a good experience to you? Once upon a time this was a decent service. No more. You'd think with Lyft and Uber they'd try harder but no. Uber calls you. SuperShuttle doesn't do that anymore. You'll get an email--not a call or text which makes you wonder why they take your number to begin with---saying your driver is on-site and leaving in 2 minutes! After a bad experience last year I said never again but a 6:00 am flight left out of Newark left me with few options. Sure enough they did it again and I'll never use this service again. Uber and Lyft can't kill them off soon enough! AVOID. If you can't foot the bill for Uber or Lyft to Penn St. is a pain but more dependable. read more

On November 12 had a pickup at 4:40 am at our home. The driver arrived at 4:30. The next pick up was a no show. The driver couldn't leave before dispatch released him. The driver made numerous calls to the customer. It was a long wait The next two customer were therefore picked up late. All the customers were late at the airport. My husband and I missed our flight. We couldn't get a flight out that day. We had to purchase a flight ticket for the next day. Then we had to find a hotel, dinner and breakfast. Have made numerous contact to super shuttle with no response. read more

There must be some way to give SuperShuttle negative stars. I reserved a van WELL in advance (at least a month). Upon my arrival at LGA (11:40a), I immediately called SuperShuttle only to wait for the next available operator (15 min wait). When I finally reached someone it was already 11:54p. They said "Sorry we don't have any vans for you right now, the wait can be an hour plus". Contemplating whether I should wait or get a refund I decided to give them a chance and waited for 80 minutes. I called back furious and they responded "We still have no available vans for you". WTF??!! Screw it, I decided to cancel and get a refund. The lady said "Sorry we can't give refunds since its Thursday 1:20a and not Wednesday". Wow...just wow...I kept my cool and provided her with whatever information was needed to get a refund request, hung up and waved for a taxi. Super Shuttle charged me almost $20 including gratuity, a taxi was $22 including gratuity AND was much much faster. I will NEVER reserve with SuperShuttle and will NOT recommend this service to ANYONE. read more

This is for Super Shuttle from Laguardia Airport. I should of gotten car service or taken a taxi. I had to wait almost an hour to be picked up from Laguardia Airport and it took 1.5 hours to get to my apartment which should of only taken 20 minutes. I also had to listen to the driver bitch about how much he hated his job, like I care. I prepaid for my shuttle service online as well as gratuity. The driver said that gratuity doesn't go to him, so I gave him a few bucks. I don't care about the few bucks but I'm just wondering if he was lying to me or not. I'll give this 2 stars because he got me to where I needed to go. Edit: The story gets better. I took SS again back to the airport on my return trip, cuz I already paid for it. Driver was late picking me up and was driving recklessly. I was thinking, this guy is going to crash if he keeps driving like this. Sure enough he does....We got side swiped by a yellow cab, which cause my driver to swerve and hit a police car. He had to stay at the scene so he ended up calling another SS to drive us the rest of the way. Luckily I didn't miss my flight. read more

Service - AVERAGE. VERY PROMPT. Price - $27-28 (including tip and tax) / one trip. Its interesting reading the other reports of SuperShuttle because I haven't had a bad experience with SS... yet. I've scheduled for 2 pick ups so far from my apartment in UES, and the service so far has been adequate to fulfill my needs. Paid $27-28 each time. Scheduling hasn't been a problem either, My flight was scheduled for 6.55AM and I called in the day before (or night before) to schedule a pick up from my apartment and there was no problem with scheduling for a pick up immediately the next day. The first time I called, I told them my flight was at 6.55AM and they recommended a pick up time of 2-2.30AM. I thought that was simply way too early so I asked if they could pick me up at 3AM instead to play it safe (i've never driven around NYC in the wee hours of the morning so I wasn't sure about traffic) and they said that they could pick me up then, but if I miss my flight I cannot sue them yada yada yada that it would be my fault if anything happened. I said that it was fine. They called my phone 1 min before arriving, and immediately 1 min later I saw that they had arrived in front of my apartment complex. The driver wasn't friendly, wasn't rude. took my luggage and stored it in the back and then we went off to pick up 1 more passenger before going to JFK. The van was a bit packed though, so be sure to be squeezed with other passengers when you're travelling with SS. It took only about 45 min max to get to JFK from the UES, and I was definitely the first person at my terminal. The second time, learning from the mistake of the first pick up, I asked if they could pick me up at 4AM. The lady once again reminded me that the recommended pick up time was 2AM and that I would be responsible for missing my flight. This time, they called me 3 min before arriving, and were very prompt with arrival. We then drove off to LGA to drop off 1/2 the van, and then the rest of us were then shuttled over to JFK afterwards. It took about an hour from leaving my apartment to getting to the airport. This time, I was still one of the first few to arrive at my gate. I think overall, if you're going to take SS from your residence to JFK and you're in Manhattan, you don't need to be picked up that early! You definitely make it to the airport in time if its the wee early hours in the morning. I can't speak for other travel times though. The service was fine. I heard the driver asking some of the customers if they had pre-paid and they said yes and he didn't have trouble believing them. I paid in cash. It was $25.25 so I ended up paying $27-28 each time. It is a bit pricey I think, but I think it's cheaper than taking a taxi to/from UES - JFK. Recommended if you don't have someone to come pick you up and you want to SAVE MONEY on the taxi and (CONVENIENCE) go straight to/from a residential address. read more

if i could give negative stars, here's the winner! incident 1: supershuttle takes over 2 hours to get from my place (downtown) to JFK at 5am when there is NO traffic. this was primarily b/c the driver didn;t know where most of the addresses were and did not seem to have an efficient route for the remaining pick-ups. as a result, i missed my flight. thanks stupidshuttle!!! incident 2: (NOTE: would not have taken SS again if not for the fact i was in a rush and didn't have time to research alternatives) i reserved an airport pickup with snowboarding gear. made it clear that i would have a 6' long bag with me when i booked the shuttle. this same bag has ridden in numerous SSs before without a problem. the driver took 45 minutes to arrive (past the already excessive 25 minute dispatch estimate). to boot, when he finally arrived, the driver was too lazy and/or incompetent to even TRY to put the bag in the van. it easily fits underneath the seats. instead, the driver tells me i need to reserve a private car, then drives away. upon calling the dispatcher, they tell me the driver reported that i had too many bags to fit into the van. i had ONE bag. a second shuttle finally arrives, where i had to convince the driver to TRY putting it under the seat. basically, they didn't even want to bother, all in, it took 2:45 to get home from JFK. i HATE supershuttle. don't go. they have the plague. read more

I booked a round trip from/to the LGA for my holiday weekend in advance. The pickup from LGA was a little long (about an HR) considering I booked in advance so they knew when I would be coming in. They want to make sure the van is full so we had to wait even longer once in the van. The trip in to NYC took about 2 hrs. So, overall it took 3.5 hrs from the time I got my bag until when I arrived at the hotel. It could have been worse but it certainly has been better. The return trip never occured. One hr before they were to pick me up, they texted me to tell me they cancelled my trip but would refund the fee. Great considering you can't keep the money when you don't provide the service. I called them as I needed to get to the airport. The customer service simply told me the same thing the text said and offered no help or even a suggestion as to how to arrange transportation. I am glad I was checking my texts or I might have missed my flight. The hotel I was staying in was great. They arranged a car service to pick us up around the same time super shuttle was supposed to pick us up. Of course, it was more as it was last minute but if another agency could find a driver to help out a customer why could supper shuttle not do the same thing or even give ideas about how to get to the airport and not miss my flight? I have used super shuttle company in the past and it was never great, but this is completely unacceptable. read more

Wish I had checked Yelp before I booked them. I could've taken an Uber for the same price and been happier. The dispatcher called me numerous times from the second I landed to see where I was. This would not have been a problem if it wasn't every minute. Then when he determined I was in the airport he checked me in even before the airline had started unloading bags from the plane. This resulted in the driver then calling numerous times to ask where I was. He then berated me for signing in too early when he found out I didn't even have my bag yet. I had never checked in that I did have it!!!!!! When I did finally get my bag and go outside he grabbed it, tossed it into the back and proceeded to drive crazily . Thank god I was the first stop. While the concept is sound I find the drivers and dispatchers to be rude and unprofessional. Never again. I'd rather walk! read more

I had no luggage but took the SuperShuttle from Newark Airport to Midtown just because I walked by it while searching for the express bus. There were signs that said $13 in the window, I get a space directly with the driver; when I get off not even at my apartment but one avenue away, I am charged $25 two hours after walking out of the airport. Take the Newark Express, Uber pool or Via - it's much more cost efficient. read more

Super great! The driver was confident but very personable. It was my first time ever in NYC so naturally I was a little terrified driving around in rush hour traffic in the rain. Despite the hectic situation he was still able to navigate well and even carry on a pleasant conversation which really helped to ease my worries. He let me know throughout the trip what was going on and where we were. Not ever having been there, that meant the world to me. My only regret is not tipping him more before hand. Not my first time on SuperShuttle, but probably the worst shuttle experience I've had. The driver was rude, pushy, and a bit sexist, not to mention he texted while he drove. The driver pulled up just at the end of the timeframe given (#813?) and pulls halfway down the block. With a few cars parked near my building, I understood, and I started to bring my bags down. The driver parked and got out, standing on the sidewalk and making not-too-subtle gestures as if I'm making him late. When I got closer (two cars away), he shouts my name, watching me visibly struggle, and smiles, nodding and waiting until I got my luggage within his arms' reach to help me at all. Still, I shrugged it off, and I passed my bags off to be loaded into the van. As he's putting my two bags, he rolls his eyes and says how heavy they are (I checked - they were at the weight limit), and then he opens the door. Now, the path between the last and penultimate rows of seats is very narrow, so, as I'm stepping in, I was almost relieved to feel my backpack removed from my back, hearing him say something to the effect of 'let me hold this for a sec so you can get in more easily'. 'Almost' accounts for the fact that, once I've turned around and am situated, he's finished weighing my bag in his hands, and he decided aloud that it was too heavy for me to have, and he's going to put it in the back whether I like it or not. I was travelling for work - my computer was in there. I watched, my heart in my throat, as he *tossed* it in the back and cheerfully walked to the front to pick up the last passenger. The rest of the passengers looked around and at me, seeming as stunned as I was. After me, one more person was picked up, which I had somewhat expected. The driver only somewhat helped her at all, which, while I understand is not mandatory, is the kind of service I would expect to be associated with such a strong demand at the end for tips. I added an extra hour to my travel time since I knew that I was travelling in a shared van, but I didn't realize how long it would take. There was one couple that was getting increasingly agitated. I learned later that they had been in the van for something close to an hour, and they were getting close to missing the suggested two hour window. Now, they were calm, and I was rather impressed by that. When we passed under the tunnel, I kept seeing a light from the front of the van out of the corner of my eye. He was texting. No, this was not the little screen that seemed to have directions attached to the center console. This was not while the traffic was so bad that we weren't moving. The van was moving, and his eyes (I could see through the rearview) were on his phone. I repeat: OUR DRIVER WAS TEXTING AND DRIVING. So, after my panic at noticing this, we were out of the tunnel, and, mercifully, he appears to have put away his phone. The ride took an hour and a half, which, given I was coming from the Upper West Side, seemed a bit long, but I hadn't been driving overmuch during this trip, so I let it slide. At the last stoplight, he asks each of us to remind him which airline we're flying with for the terminals. Once stopped, he lets everyone out, trying to insist on helping out the women, all of whom decline his pushy offer, opens the back, and, ignoring the couple saying that they need to move quickly, starts to point to passengers and unload their luggage, dropping them on the ground more often than not. Of the first three people, two reach for a bag but he drops it on the ground anyway, and he stuck out his hand each time for a tip, suddenly becoming warmer to each with the money in hand. After the third person takes their luggage and walks off, with the final couple outright glaring, the driver turns to me, gives me a look up and down, and asks which bags are mine one more time. I gesture to my bags, trying to be quick about it as they're obviously frustrated, and he moves even slower than the previous few bags. It is then that I felt this became a bit sexist. The driver looks me up and down, pausing as he unloads to take even more time. "Hey, honey, that price doesn't include a tip, ya know?" He says, continuing to hold my bag as he waits, quite obviously, for me to get my wallet out. (By this point, I've seen one person peel off a twenty.) Now, (particularly because of the texting), I had already decided his tip, but someone else beat me to it. The final couple seemed to snap as they watched him heckle me, as they walked around him, snagged their bags, and stormed off. He immediately dropped my bag (mercifully, my computer was ok), and chased after them, yelling that they couldn't do that and he deserved a tip. They seemed to be explaining that 1) yes, they could, in fact do that, and 2) he wasn't getting a tip from them for horrible service. He muttered angrily and counted his money. Ridiculous. read more

I've spent my entire morning on the phone with SuperShuttle trying to get my Mother to the airport. We made the reservation, got the confirmation number, submitted her phone number for updates and checked to make sure my building address was correct. The shuttle was due to arrive between 7:40-7:55am. Mom went down to my lobby at 7:30 to wait. When 8:15 rolled around and she was still here I called the company and was told that not only did the shuttle wait for 5 minutes, but he tried to call my Mom AND came in to speak to my doorman. A pretty large feat to accomplish without my Mom WHO WAS WAITING IN THE LOBBY noticing. While on the phone, I asked my doorman if anyone from Super Shuttle spoke to him, no he said. When the driver was quizzed on what my doorman looked like, he had no idea. Apparently, the GPS shows him waiting on the corner of 53rd and 8th before pulling ahead to 54th and 8th. All interesting considering my building is on 8th avenue between 52nd and 53rd streets. More interesting that he was waiting in front of a deli, rather than my apartment building, if he waited at all. (I'm not inclined to trust him after lying about coming into my building and speaking to my doorman and calling my Mom's phone.) After being on the phone for nearly 20 minutes, they agreed to refund my Mom's cab fare to the airport, less what I already paid for the shuttle. I appreciate this, but it's not enough. This is the fourth time I've had an issue with Super Shuttle in the four times I've used the service. I never will again. It's disappointing, as this is ostensibly a wonderful and money saving service that has caused nothing but problems for me. read more

Super Shuttle is a scary experience. When flying in to New York, I had no idea how we would get to our hotel near Times Square. A little searching online brought me to Super Shuttle. I reserved and paid online. First of all, the drive struck fear in to my heart. We were almost hit 7 or 8 times. I laughed it off and tried to calm my son down by acting like it was part of the "New York Experience". They cram so many people into the van that you can barely breathe. They also don't ask how much baggage you are going to have. We picked up several people on the way to and from our hotel that had a TON of luggage. The driver just kept shoving everything in. I was pretty uncomfortable sitting on some guy's lap that I had just met. Forget using the seat belts; there aren't enough for everyone. We got picked up really early for our flight, but the driver just kept making stops and picking up more and more people. He seemed to get 3 or more calls to pick up additional people. It took us almost 3 1/2 hours to get from Times Square to LaGuardia. Next time I go to New York, I'll research other options for transportation. read more

I haven't had any issues with SuperShuttle from and to JFK- it's typically the best value if you want to get to the airport, around $20 plus tip. You may have to wait for them to pick up or drop off other customers, but if you aren't in a huge rush it's not a big deal. You can usually find discount codes on RetailMeNot.com as well. Today I took the SuperShuttle from JFK to my hotel, there was no wait at the airport and I was dropped off after a few other drop offs. read more

Picture me with a horrified expression, hair standing on end, and a LOLcat caption: "Supershuttle..iz not so super, ackshually" Seriously I had a near death experience on the way in to NYC..actually make that several. The driver was multitasking talking on his phone while cutting off other drivers and narrowly avoiding getting creamed by a bus that did not want to give up it's last chance to get into the Lincoln Tunnel. I'm a bit of a defensive driver myself and can't remember the last time someone else's driving made me exclaim "AAAAHHH" out loud. This honor goes to Alex of Super Shuttle (at least I think that was his name-post traumatic stress disorder makes it hard to remember these things). Since I've also been sick no less than 4 times already this year, it was also harrowing to sit in the passenger seat next to him as he coughed the cough of a dying man at least 5 times a minute for the hour plus that it took to get into the city. The fact that I'm not now infected with the Rage is nothing short of a miracle and I am now a religious believer. Hallelujah. read more

Used super shuttle a few weeks ago to go to and from Newark to Manhattan. Had an early morning pick up from my place. I had selected a 5:40am slot thinking that was the beginning of the 15 minute window but found out that morning it was the end, which seems weird that they don't clearly state when you book that it's the end of the window. My bad that I didn't check the confirmation email but they showed up at 5:05am, way earlier than the actual window start time, so the car and people in it has to wait 15 minutes for me to get dressed. On that trip also we went to pick up someone else but ended up dispatch had given the wrong address. So seemed like two issues on that trip with dispatch and the driver said that issue isn't rare. On the way back, I had to wait about 80-90 minutes to get picked up which was extremely frustrating and pissed me off the most. Needless to say, most likely never going to use this service again. They need to become more reliable service and get dispatchers who can do the job right. read more

I booked them through their APP. I checked in and took about 20 minutes for us to get our ride. I check in also through the APP. I called from the welcome center just to verify because I'm paranoid but everything was alright. The driver came to the Welcome Center and he had my name written in his iPad. We loaded the van and took our seat. Driver for van780 is very nice and courteous. I will update once my trip is finished as our van is packed! But I think it's only 2-3 stops total. read more

The Super Shuttle took me from LGA right to my building on the Upper West Side - and then, a week later, back again! There were other passengers in the van coming into NYC, but I was the first to be dropped off. On the way back, I was the only passenger. For $20, it's well worth the money! Much cheaper than a taxi, and so much quicker and easier than taking a bus to the subway to another bus or subway! You do have to allow a good deal of extra time for getting to the airport. But I'm sold! I will definitely use this in the future! read more

AGAIN THE DRIVER OVERCHARGES ANS COMPANY IGNORED MY REPORT. DON'T TAKE THEIR BLUE VAN SHUTTLE AT THE AIRPORT. He first told the price is 19USD/person, but at the grand central station, he first said the card machine won't work in the area and we must either GO BACK TO THE AIRPORT or get cash at ATM. Then he finally admit we can use card but then he charged 26USD/person pretending we misheard the price and also demanding extra fee to use card. And no one else in the full bus used the station. Later we found the shuttle is reservation based, so he shouldn't offer the ride at the airport. What is worse, the company replied me that I need VAN NUMBER to request the investigation to the company. ALL THESE EVENT SUGGEST THE DRIVERS ARE SCAMMER AND THE COMPANY DOESNT TAKE ACTION. ---- I just got their automatic reply...just to pretend they took it seriously. As I wrote they just took us without reservation (so I do not have reservation number of course) and their customer center already declined my investigation request telling me I need VAN NUMBER(who remembers this?) . wow....so, i'm like going out on a limb here giving my SS 5 stars..... don't hurt me now! glad I didn't read all these reviews before i went to cali a couple weeks ago.......... I noticed (from skimming those 1 star reviews)...I didn't see a time that people were to be picked up (early? afternoon? evening?) ...I imagine that makes a difference. Here's my piece: I have only used SS once. And I got picked up at like 5am. ....A time, I assume, that most of the other reviewers are not getting picked up at. ......SS was 15 min early (beyond the 15 min bounce time they say to allow on either end of your pickup time), but that was fine for me. The driver waited and was super pleasant and helped me with my big ole bag. There was obviously no traffic getting to EWR at 5 in the morning and there was only one other passenger who had already been picked up. So for me it was a straight shoot into the Garden State with absolutely no blips. so .......... if you are leaving manhattan at a ridiculously early time of day, super shuttle might just be the option for you! read more

I guess I got a little lucky. I used this service instead of taking a $40 cab or the Airtran from JFK to Union Square (then I hopped on my train to BK). I was the second person to be dropped off so it was cool with me for $23. In all honesty though, I'm pretty sure i'll be paying for a cab next time. read more
