Second time going in a few months and even though the food is brought out quickly, it's never hot. Used to not have this problem before. If anything, it was piping hot. What's up guys? Do I have to find another Mexican restaurant? Aside from that, hostesses and waitstaff are top notch. Ambiance is great. We decided to keep waiting, but in hindsight, we should have left and gone elsewhere. I absolutely love this place! The energy is always vibrant, and it's consistently packed with people. We came on a Tuesday evening around 6 PM to grab a bite before the LSU men's basketball game. There was a 45-minute wait for a table, but fortunately, we snagged seats at the bar. The chips and salsa are incredible, and I highly recommend trying the queso dip. The $10 bowl is massive and perfect for sharing. For the main course, I usually go for either the shrimp quesadillas or the fajitas--both are excellent, and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Prices here are on the higher side for Louisiana. Enchilada plates are around $25, and a half order of shrimp quesadillas is $20. Don't skip their famous margaritas! My favorite is a mix of the regular and strawberry margaritas, served slushy-style. Be warned--the alcohol content is strong, so drink responsibly! They do have a daily special where you can get a large for the price of a small. The staff are always super friendly, quick to greet you, take your order, and check in throughout your meal. The food here was amazing! I went with a group of friends and we first started off with some queso and chips. The queso was so rich and cheesy it was the perfect consistency. I then ordered a sangria margarita which was very good. The sangria was very strong but not too strong. Being that it was a Friday night and we sat on the patio the service was amazing! It was very loud but it was still a good time being with friends. For my entree, I ordered the street tacos which were very good. It came with three tacos with a side of rice and beans. I got the fries instead of the rice and beans and they were very crispy. The three proteins I chose for my tacos were duck, pork, and beef. It was amazing! Very seasoned and not over cooked! Love this location on Highalnd, it's right in the center of where I am. I really like how there is different types of seating throughout the restaurant: outside, partial outside, inside, bar area. Usually, it is so busy we can't get a table just being walk-ins, but this Monday we were able to get right in, and our food came right out. We didn't wait long for anything. I ordered the chicken burrito, and it was good but a little dry. I thought shredded cheese came inside the burrito, but I just got chicken and rice in mine. I will always recommend Superior Grill for Mexican in Baton Rouge. It is always better when eating there in person but their take out was good as well. The only thing I wish was different would have been to ask for the pico and toppings for the beef quesadillas to be placed in a separate container because it was all warm. When we were seated and went to sit down, and the table was all wobbly, the manager was there so we asked him if we could just switch to a different table. They only had two tables fill the rest. We're all empty he said no I'll just fix your table so he had to sit there at a broken table until he fixed it when he could've just let it sit at a different table, and you couldn't hear yourself think I'll have a conversation with anybody at your table because the servers were all crowded around the area where we were sitting next by there and they were dancing around. As a result of where I reside and nightlife preferences this location is out of way for me, but I have dined here 2x over the last 6 weeks. Place is busy and loud which is a testament to its popularity , which no believe means both the killer margaritas and the food. Superior's normal margaritas are strong--so beware and you are warned--and if this review is based on margaritas only then it receives a 5 star, however there's food here which I have eaten both occasions I went recently. First off, the prices for the food shocks me at how expensive their Mexican food is--wow! No matter how you dress it up, change the description to something more exotic and or add on a few small things, it is still Mexican food which remains inexpensive. And actually the new fanciful descriptions make it more difficult to find things. As for Superior's food itself, I remain unimpressed. There are other south of the border establishments which serves the same thing but better. As such my review is 3 stars---and that's not to say I did not enjoy each visit to Superior but it's not my first choice. It's a good thing many others disagree with me! read more

My friend and I walked in looking for a group of people we barely even knew ourselves (a group of people from Orangetheory Workout classes that I only ever see inside the classes and turns out are almost unrecognizable outside the Orangetheory sweat-our-ass-off classes) . As soon as we walked in, looking confused AF, the staff came up to us asking if we need help (and boy did we, but how do you ask you're looking for a group of people you don't know?) well they offered as much help as possible but also let us know it's okay to walk around until we figure out where we belong (thank you for that ) . We also had a group of 20+ people which they accommodated at last minute (which wasn't nice if us to put on them ) but they did with effort and kindness. The food was amazing, the service was way above average, exceptional service. The manager (I'm pretty sure it was the manager- I should have asked - Shame on me) over heard me asking my friend where the bathroom was, it being my first time and all, and kindly escorted me to the women's bathroom. That was truly kind and rare to find managers, let alone any staff to escort a new customer to the restroom when they ask where it's at. This is the type of service that makes a place stand out . Where's the bathroom? - oh let me show you! (Instead of just verbal direction) Hey, you look like you're looking for someone - can I help you find them? Had a great time at Superior Grill Highland! The large 20oz regular frozen margarita was delicious, and I really liked the large guacamole appetizer. The difference between the small and the large guacamole app is that the small has one scoop and the large has two--great to share with a few people! I got the lettuce wrap tacos with rice and tortilla soup as my entreé, and I really liked them! Anyways, I was invited here for a friends birthday dinner, so in total it was 10-14 of us. Our service Angie was so awesome! She was super friendly, quick and nice. And since it was a birthday dinner, there were many couples and a few singles and she got everyone's split ticket right on the first go, which is not normal LOL. I ended up asking a friend who previously worked there for what I should order and he told me the sleeper hit: 1 duck taco, 1 brisket taco, and 1 pork taco.
