it seems she has been trying to delete my original review so here's a new one…read more first of all i am honored to receive the famous "hope u heal" line u reserve for all ur bad reviews. i also want to say that although i do think Ariana's read on the situation was spot on and perfectly articulated, i had absolutely nothing to do with it. she is a complete stranger. if i were recruiting people to leave bad reviews, u would have more than just one couple things in response to ur last message: - a haircut this bad should be obvious to someone claiming to be a professional. - I dont think being a loyal customer entitles me to a refund, i think a bad haircut does. - i only mention being a recurring customer to emphasize 2 things-- the way you treat loyal clients with a **good track record**, and lost revenue for a business who *themselves* stated cannot afford a refund. - I was very careful to specifically not use the word shelf and that was intentional. - Ive had big short hair, i've had two wolf cuts, & i know how to style it. I would never request a jelly or anything resembling one. ever. (not that that's what this is) - I didn't request a blow-out. I was OFFERED one. Maybe it's not something y'all should offer in the first place if u will blame clients for accepting and use it to deny refund. - I wasn't shown the back of my hair, esp. not in final form. being in front of mirrors does not change that. this is low IQ. - yes of course y'all are bffs & will back each other up. It's clear we're operating from fundamentally different premises. maybe that's the root of the problem here. Your position is that there's nothing wrong with the haircut itself and that I don't know how to style it. ok, I'll bite. for the sake of argument, let's assume that's true.... It doesn't change the fact that this is objectively not the haircut I asked for or agreed to receive. on that basis alone, I am owed a refund due to service not as described. it doesn't matter if u think u can "make it better". improving something bad doesn't make it good, just makes it less bad. if you had any ground (or documentation) to stand on, u wouldnt have lost the case. Policy is not law. There must be exceptions for certain cases when mistakes are made. and you need to have discernment to know the difference from when someone's abusing the system. but that requires competency (in your field and in life), humility, and good faith. when a customer has been wronged, the burden should never fall on them to figure out a resolution that works for the business. It should be the other way around. why do i even have to explain this. If I were in your position, I would be mortified to hear a customer had this experience. my priority would be to understand what would make the situation right for them and do everything reasonably possible to make that happen. I personally would have offered a refund AND an adjustment. But ironically, that means taking accountability... fortunately for all of us, u have proven it yourself that you have never been capable of this (just a quick search to see how you respond to every bad review on here and Google) and to assume premeditation/malice is a really disappointing take on this situation and makes zero sense. why or how on earth would i plan to have a bad haircut? but if that's what were doing, i can do the same.... maybe you offer blow-outs for plausible deniability on haircuts gone wrong? maybe i wasn't shown the back on purpose so i wouldn't notice? i agree there are no winners or losers here, because at the end of the day i'd rather have my hair than a refund. but because i was so polite throughout the situation, you took advantage and at the end basically shoo'd me away & expected no consequence. the last text message you sent me speaks for itself. even a stranger was upset for me. by the way... i emailed you to reiterate the points we spoke about over the phone, not to rehash anything, but to have it in writing for the case. i've attached photos of my original review from Google, KJ's response from Yelp, and Ariana's review as well because it tickles me and they threatened to take it dow.

I book an appointment for 3:00PM and come to the appointment late because she never told me she only accepts cash - I had to find out through Google reviews. She could've informed that she does not accept cards, only cash, when I booked the appointment. I had to rush to an ATM. I get there, and she immediately rushes me. She wets my hair and gets me onto the seat to start the cut. I show her a video of the exact hairstyle I want, but she disregards the hairstyle and cut that I want. She saw layers and bangs, and immediately went straight to cutting without asking how short or how thick I want my hair to be. To explain further, I showed her a video of curtain bangs with long, rounded hair (minimal layers). I walked out with a normal, straight bangs with a wolf cut because she cut my hair too short, A WHOLE DIFFERENT HAIRCUT THAN WHAT I SHOWED HER. My hair was a foot past my shoulders, she cut my hair and 90% of it is now no longer past my shoulders (I basically have a rat tail now). To add onto that, the haircut is uneven. I am upset but would be a little less frustrated if it was even however, upon further inspecting, the left side of my hair has more cuts and layers compared to the right side of my hair which cannot be unseen once you see it. The hair is also uneven, length wise, from each other. The left side of my face has shorter side bangs than the right side so even if I wanted to put my hair up by tying the rat tail, it's going to look messed up since the right side and left side don't match. There's no saving my hair at this point, with how bad and uneven the haircut is, unless I cut my hair extremely short. I am extremely upset because she did not want to see or listen to what I had to say about the haircut I wanted. I showed her a video that isn't easy to mistake but yet, she gave me a whole different cut. I tried to show it to her once more because it seemed like she wasn't paying attention, but she glanced my phone for not even 1 second and says "yea yea" then goes back to doing what she was doing. I trusted her, aware of the many years of experience she's had, but I'm never coming back to this place. I got this haircut for a special event and now my hair looks worse than before. Additionally, I'm not sure why she was even rushing me. There was NO ONE in that salon - empty when I came in, when I was in, and when I walked out. Not a single ring on the phone. When I booked the appointment, she seemed to not have a busy schedule. SO AGAIN, I'm not sure why she was rushing me and herself. I said at the beginning that she wet my hair, but she didn't even bother drying my hair. She didn't even bother to check that my hair looks like the reference video I showed her. She didn't dry it, didn't style it. I've been to many salons and one thing for sure is that you should be drying your client's hair if you choose to wet them (especially under the sink, which is how she wet my hair - not spray bottle). I did leave a tip, and I'm now wishing I didn't. I leave a tip out of courtesy but after realizing the red flags, I wouldn't have left a tip. I called her a few minutes after leaving to express my frustration. She offers to cut the hair even, which I said no to because you should already be cutting hair even (otherwise, you're really not giving a flying fck about your clients). After I said no, she lightly laughs and says "oh i'm sorry". I don't understand why she would laugh if I just expressed my dissatisfaction and terrible service I received. I wouldn't have made this review if the cut could be saved, but there's no saving this. This haircut is completely too uneven, short, and this cut extenuates the roundness of my face, making me look chubby. I would ask for a refund from the bank, but she only accepts cash, which is kind of suspicious to me. PLEASE watch out for this business. I moved to SLC a year ago and have been looking for my hairstylist and I know I found her finally! Where I moved from, I had been going to the same stylist for almost 10 years. So the new stylist had big shoes to fill. Rylie is kind, understanding, and listens without getting frustrated. I know I can be a bit difficult when it comes to my hair because my old hairstylist had known me for so long she knew exactly what to do. Seeing a new hairstylist can be difficult because the color is a different brand, the toners are different, etc. etc. Rylie has been nothing but understanding with me and listened to my "let's try this" etc. And we finally got to a PERFECT color! She is amazing and does a great job! The salon itself is super cute and parking is very easy. They often have great deals on hair products and have a good selection. Prices are great as well.
