I just got my hair done today there .. first of all I am a terribly picky person and very hard to please when It comes to hair cuts/coloring and highlights but I left the place VERY happy and VERY VERY satisfied. I have black hair and I got it highlighted light brown - caramel ish color.. JACKIE is the one who did it and it was PERFECT.. exactly how I wanted it... she is quite and very professional which I LOVE. I love the way she washed my hair I wanted to fall asleep... lol ... she is great. I would def. I'm usually a hair snob. I've been going to the Marsha Nadalin salon at Kahala Mall and seeing the same stylist for about 15 years. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Yesterday I was at home and randomly decided that I wanted a deep condition and a blowout. Not wanting to drive that far I checked Yelp to see what was available in my immediate area... The reviews were good, the location just a 5 minute drive and super accessible. I called and they were available. I walked in and was pleased with the clean, neat salon and the cheerful greeting. I was even more pleased when I was told they used a Paul Mitchell Keratin deep condition... I don't use Paul Mitchell, but at least it's a good line. I was introduced to Sierra who would be taking care of me. Cute, young girl with pink, extremely short hair. YIKES! I've got long, brown girl hair... would she know how to handle me? She was just the sweetest, most polite, most positive young woman! She'd just graduated from the PM academy in August... I could tell she was still getting her bearings but that she will be GREAT once she does. She walked me through what she was doing and answered my questions... I'm like a Spanish inquisition when I get going :) The blow out took a bit long, but I have long, difficult hair and for someone not used to my hair it is a challenge. I will be back for another deep condition and to support Sierra. Customer service goes a long way for me. I'm a raging bitch otherwise. Took my son for a haircut here today and was very happy with the service and quality for him (he's 2). We've taken him a few times to the kiddy places and there's usually a long wait. Since he seems ok with haircuts, I took him to Fantastic Sams last time (cheap). I decided to try Supercuts this time around. I believe our stylist's name was Liza. She was professional, asking each step what we would prefer for him (sit on my lap or on his own, scissors only or buzzer too, what length, need it shorter, etc). I'm happy she took the time to make sure we were happy and he was comfortable. While only a few bucks cheaper than the kiddy places (it was about $17), they did a great job and i'd definitely return. They did use a kiddy apron over their normal one. Also, their aprons were secured tight enough and they were long enough to not get hair all over his neck, shirt, feet, etc which happened at other places. Yay! read more

I went here in the morning. My boyfriend and I were in need of a haircut. I didn't want him spending a lot on my haircut, so I told him we could just try this place out. I have a round face, so I made sure to tell my stylist I don't want blunt cut bangs. It wouldn't flatter my face shape. I told her I wanted it shorter in the middle and longer on the sides, like concave bangs. I ended up walking out with blunt cut bangs!! I wanted to cry!! My boyfriend offered to take me somewhere else to get it fixed, but it was already above my eyebrows. There would be no bangs left! I had to wait a really long time for it to grow back. I don't care for this place anymore. I had to pin back my bangs for at least half a year before they were long enough to get fixed. I'm never coming back here again. The work was rushed. She didn't even ask if I liked it or show me the length she planned to cut my bangs. She just went for it! I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Me and my mother have been to this particular supercuts before...and we have had exceptional service. Today however was a different story. My mom and I decided we should get our hair cut after months of avoiding it. We did not use an app or call in, we rather just walked in as we usually did. We checked in with the girl at the front desk and she informed us that the wait would be approximately 15-20 minutes (that's fine).One hour later, a man whom came in (without an appointment, he was a walk in) after us got called to get his hair cut BEFORE US. Granted we already waited one whole hour and sat there watching at least five people get haircuts one by one. That was the last straw and we left without getting the haircut. The receptionist whom took over the original ones shift was also just sitting in one of the chairs and scrolling through her phone. This by far was the worst experience I've ever had in a salon. Maybe next time we'd call to book an appointment, but after this experience, there is no next time. We went to fantastic sam's and they helped called the both of us within 10 minutes. All I ask is that when they tell you the wait time, TELL THE TRUTH. I had errands to run and my mom has a bad back, so the seats weren't comfortable for her. The least they could have done was inform us that they were behind schedule while we sat and waited. Usually I'm a patient person, but one hour for just a three inch hair trim? As it was said before, if you haven't seen your barber before, check to see if they are new or in-training. If you call and the receptionist ask if you have a preferred stylist...say "no one in-training". Normally, I like this location better than others because I've never had any problems and usually leave a happy customer. I could quickly tell that the male stylist I had was new. There was no confidence in his cutting; light buzzing, took longer than it needed. When he gave me the mirror to check his work, The top hair was still an inch long after telling him leave about half inch. I asked to make it shorter, to 1/2 inch (original request). He only skimmed a bit off the top and very uneven. This has happened to me before, hence me going to another location. My patience was wearing thin and none of the experienced stylists were checking in on their newbie. He gave me the mirror and I just said "okay, good" just so I could leave. Just as any other profession that hires newbies or "in-trainees", you should have a supervisor or someone more experienced to check their work so that the customer is happy. It also helps the trainee to learn from their mistakes ( how can they learn without no one calling out their mistakes). Unfortunately, I will have to find someplace else to fix my hair. read more

this is the best location! ive been here multiple times and never had an issues :) the receptionist and stylists are all very friendly...and they really try to fit you in for an appointment! when the other waipio location (on waipio uka) messed up my appt time (they claimed i never made an appt there...when i did) this location was able to take me very last minute, pretty much right before they closed! ive seen jenn, joy, shaz, and as of last night precious....and they are all great! they do exactly what i ask for :) read more

Went to the Waipio Supercuts today. I was dissapoonted with the order and sequence of which haircuts were occuring. I called ahead of time and was patiently waiting, however was passed up for other customers that came in after me. I know this because I was waiting for over 45 minutes in the store and saw who was coming in for haircuts. These people did not call ahead of time or have appointments. They(cashier/receptionist) really need to get their act together because people are watching. I won't be going there anymore and recommend others to go there only if you have ALL day. My first and last experience was horrible. My hairstylist's name was Jake. She was very impatient and did not listen to me as I was telling her how I wanted my hair cut. I am a senior citizen and was expecting a little more compassion.She point blank told me that she didn't have a lot of time for me. What happened to customer service? She was rude to me and I felt like she didn't care for me as a customer. I went on Saturday morning around 1030 am. I Just needed a quick trim and wanted my layers to be trimmed up and the place I usually go to was full for the day. I figured I'd give Super Cuts Waipio a try, how bad could it be? Its a standard cut and they are licensed right? HORRIBLE MISTAKE. I got Donna and her service was rude and she didn't respond much when I told her what I wanted. I'm a pretty laid back person and I'm not one of those fussy diva girls, but I actually had to stop her a few times during the cut to ask her if she actually understood what I wanted. (it was really standard) When my cut was finished, my hair was still wet from the shampoo and she didn't even take the time to dry it. The cut looked a little off, but I figured it would be okay once I went home to dry and style it. I got home and noticed that the right side layer of my hair was up to my chin and the left was past my shoulders! She literally just lopped off that side of my hair and didn't even try to fix or cut it. I ended up having to book an emergency appointment and paid an extra $65 to get it FIXED. The experienced stylist who fixed my hair said it was a bad cut and she could only fix it so when it grew up it would be what I wanted it to be. It was the WORST cut I have ever had in my life, even my mom did better when she used a ruler to cut my hair. Donna is horrible and I would recommend people to run for their lives if they should ever fall in her seat. I've never cried over a hair cut until I met her. read more

I went here to get a trim. Asked for less than a half inch off, she took 2 inches off. Came in with long layers, left with short layers. Came in with side swipped bangs, left with bangs that didn't touch my eyebrows. Did she listen to me??? NO, she did her own thing. She won't be touching my head again! read more

This was my second time here-consistent great service even with diff hair stylist. Also witnessed rude individual who came for a color, complained that she was a repeat customer and yet wanted her hair.... Colored by them again. She also questioned the stylists ability but when asked if she would wait for someone else, declined. Confusing and difficult but the staff kept their cool. I think if you want a certain look in color or style head to high end salon with the high end $$$. These guys were cool and I tip accordingly!! Before I start I want to say that my daughter has been getting her bangs/hair cut here for around 3 years with satisfactory results/service but the last visit today will be just that, our last visit here. My daughter came in only for a bang cut which is $8. They will ask if we want it layered which they have done at every visit at no extra charge. On this visit I was informed by the stylist that "there is a disconnect with her bangs, do you want me to fix it?". I was not informed that there would be an extra charge to fix this as this had occured on her last visit here which was a full haircut. When the work was done I was charged for a full haircut. When I questioned why I was told "we'll do better next time". What? When I called back to speak to the manager this time she questioned the stylist only to respond by saying that "they layered all around" so that's why the full charge. As I mentioned before we were never, EVER charged extra for layering her bangs and if they were going to charge extra for a mistake that they made we should have been informed of the charge BEFORE performing the work, not after it's done. We were charged $17 this day and the manager only would provide the phone number to the corporate office. So their response is to let a regular customer walk away upset, who has spent hundreds of dollars in the past and would have spent hundreds more in future visits, when all they had to do was refund $9 with a sincere apology. Don't even have to admit to a mistake, maybe a misunderstanding. Oh well, my daughter will just have to find somewhere else to go. read more

My first time to sign up and write a review on Yelp because we really had a BAD Experience in this salon. My husband tried to walk in for a haircut then its kinda busy and just we saw 1 hairdresser on that day so RECEPTIONIST said it will be 45 mins wait and she said to call my husband if he will be his turn but it's just SO RUDE that the receptionist doesn't even bother to call us but it's ok because we went to FANTASTIC SAMS (same area) instead and my husband does his haircut right away and same thing kind of busy but they have like 3-4 hairdressers so they can entertain customers right away. I hope the owner of supercuts will train their receptionist to be kind and helpful to the customers esp during busy days . Take note she is kind of lazy too coz I've tried peek at the salon and I saw her slouching on the chair so sleepy and look so lazy. What a shame!!!!! I wish I couldn't put 1 star coz doesn't deserve it read more
