Our favorite bookstore in NDG continues to hold that title. We brought some books in, donated what…read morethey wouldn't make use of, and spent far too long roaming and acquiring books. I'm always impressed by the variety. You see something new every time you go in because they offer such an impressive collection of items. We even got hockey cards for surprise gifts for family this time around! Some items are more expensive but we got an edition of The Wizard of Oz that was still wrapped and originally worth quite the pretty penny that we will be gifting to a loved one. It was an amazing experience once again today. For the first time, I think I spent more time looking at their prints and I wanted to buy nearly every Singin' In The Rain one... Hardy Boys galore... it was overall just a lot of fun to visit this store. We'll be back for our quarterly visit in no time.

If you live in the area and listen to vinyl records, you should come in here regularly…read more They have a section of newly acquired records, so once you've browsed their full catalogue thoroughly, it's easy to drop in whenever you're walking by and see what's new. They have lots of records for 5 bucks, which is something like an old movie rental price. Even if I only listen to something once, the experience is worth 5 bucks. They also have way more expensive records, like limited editions of Tom Waits or whatever, which occasionally run closer to a hundred. So there's a huge range, if you're looking to spending a tiny bit of pocket money, or if you're looking to make a major investment for your collection. They also have books. I honestly use the library for books more than buying them, but sometime when I'm in here for vinyls, something on the bookshelf catches my eye, and the prices are fair. It is packed, though. Sometimes where there are a lot of customers, it is very hard to move around and look for things. So much stuff in a such a small space is a double-edged sword. This 5-star review is for my visits outside of peak times, for the selection, service, and price. During peak times, maybe only worth 4 stars because it's so hard to navigate. But the popularity is a sign of the quality, so it's hard to quibble with that.

The prices are a little unpredictable, some things seemed way overpriced to me, yet other more unique and rare things seemed undervalued. So: lots of fun to look through, and some very high quality recordings, old, new, re-issues, and unique new vinyl. I only checked out classical and jazz, my loves, but the other sections seemed chock full and varied. Glad that stores like this still exist.

The shop is located in a nice shopping and dining area of Mount Royal. The shop itself is very clean, well-lit, organized, easy to navigate. They had practically every genre with both new and used vinyl available. One of the biggest issues I had was the mixing of used and new records in the same bins. It just took longer too search through since I mainly was looking for used. Either way, I still walked away with some great stuff. Everything I looked at was in good shape. They had tons of new vinyl and reissues. Easily, the largest selection of new vinyl in Montreal. I also noticed tapes (fairly small) and CDs too. They also run a discogs account where some stuff on there may not be located on the main sales floor. The staff at the counter were friendly as well. I really liked Aux 33 Tours and would recommend checking it out!

My friend's…read moreson suggested checking this spot out cause he had seen it since they lived in Terrabonne. The shop was pretty easy to find. Parking was a lot less of a hassle than in the city. The owner was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The shop is relatively small, but there's lots of bins too dig through. It's also very organized and clean. Although there wasn't a ton that caught my eye, I did grab a hip hop record I wanted. I'd recommend checking this shop out as you're likely to not find many outside Montreal.

The worst experience I've ever had buying from a supposedly established shop. Avoid at all costs!…read moreI was an international buyer for an item that I now do not believe the shop had in stock any longer, if they ever had it in stock in the first place. Rather than just refund me the money the owner delayed admitting anything wrong until over a month later. If I hadn't chased it up, I don't know what would have happened. I placed my order on February 23rd and received an order confirmation from the shop's website. The shop charged $13.45 for shipping on top of the cost of the record. On 12th March, having received no notification of shipping or any other communication, I wrote to the shop asking for clarification. The owner replied stating the item had already shipped two weeks previously. I questioned why I'd not received a notification, and how long it might take to receive the item. The owner stated he didn't know how long I could expect to wait, and rather brusquely stated that there was no tracking number with the shipping method I chose so there was no way of seeing how far along the delivery was. The owner's tone throughout our exchange was brusque and rude. At this point I was faintly suspicious that something odd was going on, but I was content to wait for another week or so. On March 24th I received an automated message from the shop's website stating that my order was 'finished processing'. I wrote to the owner again asking why this message had just been sent to me when the record had apparently been sent a month previously. The owner said it was a mistake, and he simply hadn't updated the system at the time. Again, I was suspicious. On 5th April, having researched Canadian Post fees for shipping, I wrote to the owner asking why my package had not yet arrived. I stated that the fee for air shipping is only $12.15. I asked for proof of postage. The owner replied that he had contacted Canada Post and they told him they had lost the package! He said he was sorry and I would have my refund on the 13th of April (in 8 days). I replied asking how they could have known such when there was no tracking number. I queried his story, and once again asked for proof of postage. I asked why a refund would come within 8 days, and not immediately. I stated that the exchange had changed and that I expected a guarantee to receive the same amount of money I spent. The owner finally replied showing a refund processing, and with the following message: 'No stress at all we're not a scam we're just a small business who made an error have a great day we hope you'll find the record you want' Obviously this hasn't helped at all. Finally he's admitted an error - but I still have no idea what that 'error' was. Was it taking my money when there was no record to sell? Was it lying about posting it and keeping my money for five weeks? I'm going to lose out on (an admittedly small) amount of money on the exchange rate having changed. I could have bought the record from multiple other outlets selling it in the UK in the interim period (it's a limited release, and now sold out). I'm sure as a brick and mortar business where you can see what you're paying for they're fine, but I advise anyone buying internationally to be very aware when doing business with this guy - oh, and his shipping rates are $4.50 higher than the actual Canada Post rates. Scalping in this way is awful business practice. Still considering reporting them to the Quebec Consumer Protection Office, though I doubt they'll do anything.

The selection there is quite ample, both in quantity and diversity of genres. And, the division/organization of their records was quite good. I am not a crate digger and have no patience for it. Sonorama pointed me in the right direction for the kinds of things I was looking for. In general, the pricing is reasonable/average, but there is a section in the back that is also posted on discogs and it is on the high-end. It's certainly good stock (I got a really nice and clean rocksteady comp from the early 70s), but it made me wonder how much everything else was down there (note: those records weren't labeled with prices.) Nonetheless, this is a must visit for those doing the vinyl circuit in Montreal.

There's lots of used and new vinyl to dig through. I did like that they were kept separate. A big plus in my book. I found lots of stuff here, some of which I have not come across in any shop before. Most of the records I looked at were clean. Lots of genres for all tastes too. They also had cassettes and CDs as well. I really liked Sonorama and would definitely return back someday.
