Our community has been using New Image since 2015. Foreman Jeff Suzuki should be fired and maybe…read morethis entire company should go bankrupt for allowing such poor service. Jeff intentionally does not fulfill much of the contract and has made the community landscaping look like an unkempt jungle. He schedules his 2 workers for 2 hrs a week on our large property, when other companies at a similar price offer a full work day with 3 workers. They only have time to mow some of the lawn and blow some leaves in this short time, and they enjoy a very long lunch break during this time, too. Instead of focusing on their basic responsibilities, they try to find bogus ways to make supplemental income from the property. We have a serious pest issue due to New Image shirking their responsibilities and allowing vegetation to get so overgrown they are touching the buildings, growing into sidewalks, concrete divides, etc. Dying branches fall on cars and there's less than the required 8' clearance along walkways. The overgrown vegetation blocks safety signs, too. Since they don't fertilize the soil and they overtrim bushes/trees beyond what's healthy (causes plants to go in shock) when they get a work order request, this eventually kills the plants, which adds to the costs since they then recommend replacing the plants. The contract notes that weeds should be handpulled if treatment is not effective, but weeds are rampant throughout the property and Jeff made an excuse that they try to use "natural" remedies. They charged our HOA $2k for a completely useless soap and water aphid treatment, too (I recommend using Clark Pest Control or some other pest company which will charge reasonable rates for effective treatment). We thought part of the issue was with our old association manager, but our new association manager had to pester Jeff just to get some litter picked up that was accumulating over the years. Jeff kept changing the goalposts of his excuses and ended up trying to propose a laughable $6500/mon contract to fulfill the basic landscaping responsibilities. Contacting Jeff directly didn't help either since he's unresponsive and very forgetful. He also tried to double charge for work we've already paid for.

After cleaning out the yard of roots, weeds and poison oak, they built a beautiful stone wall, laid sod, planted many beautiful flowering plants and finished with pine straw. I highly recommend Alalawn for your landscaping and water drainage needs.

The only problem is getting the tree debris removed, the removal truck and crew do not come until after the cutters have finished. As i write this, it has been a week since the first trees were removed, and we cannot get reply as to when they will show up to pick up the trees. The value for the service is good, but completion of the work is a problem. Grays must have good cash flow since we have not paid them any money until the work is complete. I would suggest contacting Ace Tree or Champion Tree to confirm their tree removal process prior to hiring Gray's.

We first worked with John Russell Landscape Architect when we were trying to control rain water…read morerun-off that was turning our wooded back yard and swimming pool into a muddy mess after every heavy rain. This happened because our yard was at the bottom of a slope that collected all of the rainwater from six neighboring properties. John developed an attractive and very effective solution to our problem that created two stunning lawn areas and that completely protected our pool. This substantially increased our property value and turned an eyesore part of our property into an area we thoroughly enjoyed. We worked with John again after we moved to a new more urban setting where we again encountered water run-off problems following several what our city engineer called '100 year rains'. John again developed a solution that controlled the water while enhancing both our flower beds, vegetable patch, and lawn. John has a great aesthetic sense and a unique understanding of the power and value of rainwater. Although he can be busy, requiring his clients to wait for their turns, he's accurate in predicting when he'll be able to do the work. His cost estimates are detailed and very accurate. And his team of workers do a terrific job and show great respect for your property. When they're finished, you'll be ready to entertain the same day. He stands behind his work and has been very quick to come and deal with a couple of minor issues that developed several months after he completed the initial project. He's our go to resource for all landscape problems.
