They checked the codes here for the design. They may have been in business for 21 years but like a local surgeon stated " you're only as good as your last case. That rank a zero.

Turns out a squirrel made a home under one of my panels and ate through some wire and a converter. The techs found the area where the damage was done and fixed it with a new part. By the way, they handled my service call within 2 days and also had to deal with snow in spots on the roof. They took the damaged component to remove it from the monitoring system and added the replacement. Exact did my install over two years ago and can't tell you how happy I am that I chose them for my solar system. FIRST CLASS!!!!

We have always talked about getting solar when we moved so once we were actually in our new home we started doing our research and landed on this company. If I could go back in time and go with another solar company I absolutely would because instead of this process being exciting and seamless, it has been a true nightmare considering I've had my solar panels on my roof for over 6 weeks and they are still not turned on due to failed inspections. You would think a company that has been doing this type of craft for so long would know the proper permits to get when installing solar on a customers roof, but sadly you can't always assume people know what they're doing. So not only do we have solar panels on my roof that are not turned on for weeks due to failure to get the proper permits, but the company's men were also negligent and damaged my front step. When speaker to our salesmen who is also incompetent and fails to represent us although he's the one making the sale off us, he told my husband and I that when the men work, they are suppose to put some type of protection down on your property so they do not damage anything. This was not the case for my install because not only did the workers half ass and were careless on my property, but I have a huge black Tar mark on the front step of my brand new home. Obviously we were extremely upset but we did not show we were mad because the workers told us they would take care of it. Well just like the solar panels that are not turned on on top of my roof, my step was NOT taken care of and it has been WEEKS. No one has called us, kept us in the loop as to when either issue would be resolved, and best part, the owner of this company got nasty with my husband after expressing how frustrating this all is that we are left in the dark. This company has no remorse, and does NOT care about the consumer. All this company has done to us is put more stress on our busy lives, and aggravate us that we are not taken as a priority. This company takes on more jobs then they can handle, and moves onto the next job without completing the first job. We have had a great experience with GPE to install panels on our home. All the people we worked…read morewith were prompt, explaining things accurately and correct, and were really helpful and patient. Especially as our installation was process was lengthy due to the historic nature of our house and barriers thrown up but town officials. However as long as we didn't give up, GPE supported us and eventually we won and our solar was installed and turned on. As other have commented, when you compare GPE's work with that of other installations around us, they did an exceptional job to hide any conduits, cables and the panels look less messy than what I've seen all around me. We had the opportunity and chose to pay out of pocket, instead of financing and GPE made it clear and easy. As many people aren't in the position to do that, they provided us with the options and helped us choose without pressure, but with the assistance needed. While we ran into minor issues, with the help of GPE these were resolved to our satisfaction. And we now are enjoying the longer sunlight days that generate our power. After the system is live, the service hasn't stopped so far, so we're confident this stays this way.
