My mother (97, nearly blind & needing 24 hr care) was at Sunny Care Home for the last 3 years of her life. My first impression was that Sunny Care looked, smelled & felt as I was in a friend's welcoming home. I live around the corner & stopped by daily @ all hours. My Mom,as well as all the other residents, were always receiving excellent care, eating healthy, fresh home cooked meals, clean, comfortably warm & very well attended. We've lived in this quiet neighborhood since 1962, so being able to take her out (as weather permitted) in her wheelchair for "walks" was a source of joy for us both. She was there with hospice care, passing without pain or fear as I held her. They were extremely helpful & respectful. I will always be grateful for the gentle care they provided my mother & the peace of mind I felt with her in their experienced hands. My Father-in-Law spent a year at Sunny Care before he passed away. My wife and I became responsible for his care after his wife passed away, after she spent two years in a convalescent hospital. We wanted a positive home-like experience for him, though due to his size and disability, my wife could not help him with his personal needs. She visited him daily, and found that all his needs were properly provided for and he enjoyed the food, the caregivers and all that was provided for him.
