When I arrived at the shop, Jack Bowles greeted me..and we talked about where I was with the hobby, he showed me some of the DCC trains I was interested in and answered many questions that someone new to the hobby would have.. I really enjoyed going to this shop, and was glad to find a place where I could see the real products and someone to demo the HO DCC trains and hear the sounds in person etc..and ask questions in real time..you sure cant do that buying things online Definitely recommend this place!!..if you are interested in HO trains or other scales..they also carry a wide selection of scenery supplies and scale models...but the HO trains were my reason to be there.. Nice small shop, not a lot of inventory but I managed to find a piece of rolling stock. Has a shelf layout on one of the walls. It was not operating but owner said I could run trains if I wanted to. My wife was waiting in the car so I kindly responded I better not start. The owner was very friendly and said they really catered to the kids. That's very comforting because I fear the hobby is dying with us old guys. I always enjoy looking at other layouts as you can get great ideas. Like I have a 9ft area the I need to look like a retaining wall, guess what, the had one, not 9ft but a long one. Best part they sold material I can use to build it. Plenty of parking and always worth a stop.

Now I woke up early and wasted my time and gas money driving from fort Myers to Cape Coral dropped off my parts for work and wasted 20 minutes of my time grabbing coffee while waiting for what I thought was a soldering job. Buddy soldered half of one connector out of 3 total connectors I needed soldered. They so desperately claim they need people like me's business to stay open but then refuse service how ironic. Very glad I didn't spend over $3,000 in Traxxas rc's from this shop. I will never be returning to this store and I will be informing my fellow hobbyists that my previous praises for this shop have been retracted and to stay away at all costs. I was in one of the aisles, bent down, looking at the Christmas houses for the village when 1 of the employees came flying down the same aisle with a trolley. She hit me so hard, she knocked me over. Then when I had the nerve to say something to her, she actually said I didn't have to be such a bi+ch about it. Eventually a manager was brought over to me. He offered me a cold water and ice pack and a coupon. Never offered to fill out a report or to bring the girl over to apologize to me. I don't know if she still works there but if she does she shouldn't. Then one of the younger men working in 1 of the aisles actually had the nerve to come out and say to my husband that we had nerve to even be upset because it's not like she did it on purpose. Like she insulted me and called me a name after she rammed a cart into me. Very unprofessional. Very unsafe. It's a shame that the manager didn't even really seem to care. I love Michael's but this definitely changed my view on this location and manager.

Took my RC truck there for repairs. They took it apart (took maybe 15-20 minutes) didn't put it back together because the part i bought was faulty. They STILL charged me almost $40. They are lucky they're the only hobby shop around here or else i probably wouldn't go back.
