Whoever answered the phone was really friendly and didn't have a problem answering my questions that I'm sure they multiple times every day. The pricing here is very fair plus it comes with a lifetime warranty. What a good deal! The process took about 1.5 hours. There waiting room is spacious and modern. Also, there's a coffee shop across the street you can hang out at. After this was done, they called me immediately to let me know. When I came in to check out, they made sure I checked everything out to ensure I was happy. Outstanding service here - I can't say it enough. They said if any issues pop up to call them immediately. Heard good things about Sun Tint but my experience was very poor. They scratched up two windows on the inside, one of which they replaced at no cost to me (not factory glass though). Brand new 2020 that now has a window that doesn't match with a crooked stamp. They weren't upfront about messing up though, which meant another trip for me to address the damage. They also scratched up four windows on the exterior as well as my roof railings and weather stripping. Had to go back multiple times to have windows redone due to scratches on windows/tint and lots of bubbling. BEWARE: These guys will scratch your windows, tint over it, and pretend like nothing happened (as they did to me TWICE)!!! Spoke to the owner on the phone who was hostile and defensive, and "respectfully" declined to fix my window. There is NOTHING respectful about refusing to fix property you damaged!!! read more

I went here for my tint after being recommended by a dealership. Overall they did a pretty good job, but my driver side window has some dirt specs or something at the top inside the tint. The place is easy to find, has a nice interior with comfortable seating/drinks/WiFi provided and has some cafes near by to hang out while you wait. I chose the most premium tint and opted to also have the windshield film placed. At ~$500 my expectations were high for this job. To my disappointment nearly all the windows had bubbles/dust that was visibly trapped between the tint and the window. I came back and they offered to redo all of them for free. While Sun Tint is in an excellent location, don't be deceived by the street appeal. I recently bought a 2015 Jetta and wanted to tint every window on the car. I wanted 10% on the rear sides and back windshield, 30% on the front sides as well as the front windshield covered. The tech explained all the benefits of the different price ranges, and I didn't feel like he was selling me too hard on it. They even had a heat lamp in a box with varying tints on each side so you could feel the difference between the different tint levels. I made an appointment and was in and out in less than 2 hours. They even went ahead and put tape on the window buttons to make sure I wouldn't accidentally lower it while they cured. No bubbles, no issues, the whole process went seamlessly. Best of all, the all of the Solar Gard tint's that they sell come with a lifetime warranty. It's worth noting also, that all the choices outside of the "Best" are tech friendly. All in all, they are very professional, polite and you can tell they have a lot of experience. When I arrived, the salesperson reviewed with me all the options for my vehicle and helped me pick the package that fit my budget. They also offered me future discounts on ancillary services like hood film should I choose to add it later. I walked to Thunderbird, worked for 2 hours, and received a call that my car was ready right on time. The tint job is fantastic. I got my new car tinted here in the heat of the summer. On a balmy mid-week afternoon, I grabbed my laptop and headed down to Koenig ready to spend a few hours tapping away at email. About an hour and a half later, I was out the door. The couches were comfy, there were plenty of tvs and beverages for you to choose from in the provided fridge. And how about the tint? it bubbled for a few days and has been immaculate ever since. The first time I called I spoke to Heather, who was a bit rude and because she was in the automotive side of the business, she could not give me much information. She did take all my info and I did receive a call back from someone who could answer my questions - So I figured that maybe she was having an off day. Nope. When I called a second time I spoke to her again and her rude customer service tone. This is the second time I've used Sun Tint. The first time was for my wife's suburban many years ago and this time for her Denali. We had the suburban for a long time and had the darkest tinting possible. There were never any issues with the tinting bubbling or peeling. The darkest tint was great for long car trips with the kids. It makes it easier for them to nap without the sun getting in their eyes (who likes the towel rolled up in the window look anyway...) The second time around they had a more expanded line of products. They've got this really cool tint that actually gets darker like those fancy eye glasses. Then, in the dark, it lightens up making it easier to see at night. They also have a new product that is clear and blocks heat. That is, it's a film you can put on the front windshield that will help keep your car cool but still allow you to pass inspection (it's perfectly clear). I was able to get my wife's car in an out both times. It took a few hours and their reception area is very nice although I didn't stay and wait for the car. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. The prices were reasonable and they have many options. I was told recently that my yelp reviews are all too positive. So, I guess my one complaint would be the hand soap in the bathroom. I'm more of a lavender-smell-kinda guy instead of vanilla. Someone get on that. read more

There's an old dog named Sammy that roams around the waiting area. He's pretty cool, but I'd wager he hasn't showered in some time. Maybe that's part of his allure. I came here to get my windows tinted on my new CR-V 4 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier! This is the place that my dealership goes through and I was shocked to learn that my dealership wanted to upcharge me almost $100 than if I went straight to Sun Tint. Go thru Sun Tint directly! If you go on Saturdays, it's best to make an appointment ahead of time since they have shorter hours. They have a nice waiting area or there are some restaurants within a few blocks. They were done with my windows within the 1 1/2 hour quoted time frame. They also explained that what looks like "bubbles" and streaks now are actually moisture "pockets" that will evaporate over several days (which did). They also explained about taking care of the tint during the first 4 weeks, such as not washing the interior windows and not rolling them down, etc. Overall it was a great experience and I'm very satisfied with the cost of the tint and the final product! read more

I did my research prior to this and read about the three different types of tint, and the variations in quality. I brought my car in, and sign in was very quick. Brentwood Social House is right across the street and a nice place to grab a drink or a meal/snack while you are waiting. Loved the whole experience; my initial quote and conversation with Russell who was extremely pleasant, and dealing with Ronnie for my appointment. Everyone was masked, they had a super waiting area with coffee, water, sodas, wifi, etc. I was in and out in less than two hours for all four windows, rear hatch, and moonroof. There was a minor issue when doing the tint on my rear hatchback window, (from a previous incident) but they still ordered the part and fixed it 3 days later in less than 2 minutes. These guys really do a bang up job on tints. I wasn't passing inspection from my tint being too dark on the front windows, and I even got a "fixit ticket" for putting off my inspection a couple of weeks into July. I couldn't believe the eagle eye motorcycle cop spotted the out of date sticker! He later said that was his assignment for the day. Nice guy. Guess he could have ticketed me for the tint too if he wanted. So after that I decided it was time to go to Sun Tint. Dr. Fredo had been there and gotten the legal ceramaic tint all around and it looked nice and blocked mucho heat. That last part really sold me. Honestly I didn't care how dark it was as long as it blocked the most Texas heat! I dropped my car off the night before and while there I decided on the ceramic tint also except I did 35% in the front and 20% the rest of the way around. I had this same percentage on my old car and I hated it. Of course I had a light interior too. Since my interior now is all black including a black headliner it all blends together very well. And it passes inspection easily. The job really didn't take long at all. It was completed by noon or so the next day. If I had been able to drop my car off in the morning, I am sure it would have been the same. The results are stunning and flawless. Customer service was easy and friendly. My one complaint is that they lost their detail guy and couldn't do that service. I was going to go ahead and have a complete detail done after discussing it with them a few weeks before. Where I come from, customers are #1... but apparently not at Sun Tint. Had read great reviews and wanted to get my windows tinted on a sunny afternoon. Stopped by in the afternoon and there wasn't a customer in sight -- but the manager and numerous employees devoted their time to talking to the UPS guy. I stood 5 feet away in silence for almost 15 minutes -- the manager went back into his office and even answered a phone call. I waited five MORE minutes, then left as he hibernated in his office. Really -- nobody could help a customer with the place empty? No thanks on this one, there are plenty of quality places in town that value customers and their time. I was had the Clear Shield put on my 2009 Nissan GT-R. The thing about putting a "clear protective film" on your car is that you have to watch the cutting process. Sun Tint has a Computer with a program that will PRE-Cut the pieces needed to put on your car. NOT put it on your car then cut the excess off. [They will eventually cut into your car] Next the Owner "Ronney" is a class act. I talk to him on the phone about transportation and we agreed that they would take me home in the morning and the ride back was on me. When I got there I was informed that the transportation just took off. Ronney took me home personally and then started on my car right after. He was finished an hour AHEAD of time and promptly called me when he was done. Then he made EXTRA PIECES and covered my lights because the computer wasn't programmed to do it, he also cover part of my aftermarket spoiler + HE DID NOT CHARGE ME EXTRA FOR ANY OF IT. 100% OUTSTANDING BUSINESS ETHICS !!!!!!!!, it's too bad everyone does not offer this level of service. The RX-8 owner's club recommended it, so I brought my car here to get my windows tinted. People from all over Texas make the trip to Austin to get their windows done at Sun Tint, so it was obviously a pretty safe bet for a tint shop. I purchased some great tint (3M "Thermals"- does a good job keeping inside of your car cool from sun's heat - $190). Never had a problem with the tint after 2 years, although I called back recently and asked how much it would cost to do the same tint on a new car, and they told me they didn't sell 3M any more because of warranty problems. But again, mine was always perfect- no bubbles, no tears, nothing. Update: I just got my new car tinted today (Altima Coupe) and the customer service was great. I got the higher end "Carbon" tint all around for $215 with tax. Tint came out looking decent but of course it needs a few days until it looks its best (I have no doubt it will look perfect). Unlike the first time I visited, they want me to come back in 5 days for a "checkup" to ensure there are no bubbles, etc. Can't beat a place that double checks to make sure it was done right! They have a very comfortable waiting room with a few couches, a cable TV, wifi (which I SHOULD have taken advantage of- so bring your toys!) and the family dog, assuming he's not asleep in the back. I was quoted at a 1.5-2hr wait, and it ended up being about 1.5 hours. They prefer you setup an appointment before you come in, and I'd recommend it. With an appointment (which I abandoned and came in a day early), they quoted me at a 1-1.5hr wait. Highly recommended- don't go anyplace else unless Sun Tint is more than a 750 mile drive from home. read more

Just went in to get my sunroof done but Heather talked me in to getting the whole car done. Place was clean and job was almost done at the promised time. I am giving Heather 5 stars but subtracting 1/2 a star for the price and 1/2 a star because one window had to be redone. She did catch the problem with the window before releasing my car so I did not have to return to get it repaired. I bought the high end tint and it has really has helped reduce the heat in the car. WOW! In and out in about 10-15 mins. I just needed my two front windows tinted. I called and asked if they had an opening. Ronnie said yep; said I was on my way. No pressure to upgrade to the high end tint, or redo the whole vehicle, or get the clear paint protector stuff. I'll be taking the wife's car in tomorrow for the same treatment. Only hitch; no dog to pet. :( Also, just as an FYI, the 'coffeshop right across the street' mentioned in other reviews is really a block or two down the road. Update: Took the wife's car in today. I got my windows tinted on my Fiat 500 Abarth and they did the whole car with top-of-the-line ceramic tint (the most expensive and highest grade) for 300, and then they tinted the windshield too (really only anti-glare very light tint) for another 200. I am very happy with the tint job because they did it perfectly, and the people were very nice. The waiting area is nice and their big dog in there is really friendly. They have TV and WIFI in there to keep you from getting too bored. read more

I had a great experience with these guys! I have some large, odd-shaped single pane windows in my house that started getting intense afternoon sunlight after my neighbor had to cut down a tree. Sun Tint gave me some samples that blocked different amounts of sun, but when I called them to schedule the job, I asked for the wrong tint! I really wanted the darkest, but I asked for the number that was the lightest. Totally my fault. The guy showed up and had started cutting the tinting while we talked. By the way I was talking he figured out that I probably wanted the darker tint and asked me about it. I felt bad, but he was totally cool about and encouraged me to let them order the right tint (it was a special order because of the windows' size). The job also required him to use more than one piece of tint on the windows because of the size, but the seam is completely invisible. The tinting looks great. You can't tell it's there except for the fact that you no longer bake in the room in the afternoons. read more

The tint job was good.. Not perfect. Beware they are not liable for any damage to your interior or paint, which is what happened to my car here. The owner may or may not pay to repair the damage, as there's a disclaimer sign behind the counter for fair warning. Russell also gets defensive and rude if you claim his staff did anything wrong. Sun tint said bring it in right now and we can get you out under 2 hours. On my way! Got there and they gave me different options and tint quality. Got the 411 and the 101 in car tinting. I decided to go with the ceramic 30. Sure enough got me out under 2 hours. Great tint job too! I paid $350 total. I was curious and called other places to see if I got a good deal. I came in.. they verified what I wanted... all looked good.. had great confidence in them.. and they told me would take about an hour and a half. So I decided to hang around.. and their waiting area is awesome! They got free wifi, cable tv, and these ultra comfy couches. They have this beautiful yet lazy golden retriever sprawled out across the floor.. and I decided to join him on a quick nap... next thing I know my car is ready. They go over everything with me... and the tint looks beautiful. The owner of the place personally went through the final walkthrough with me and it is obvious he is passionate about what they do... customer service and quality is obviously important to them.. their whole staff was friendly and had character. I had the windows tinted on my car this summer after the heat got way past the point of ridiculous. I was recommended to Sun Tint by a friend and was also happy to see all the good reviews on Yelp. I was able to get an appointment for a couple days after I called and I did wait for at least a couple hours but they have a nice waiting room and free wifi! They recommended that I come back within a week for a "check up", which I did. I wasn't 100% impressed with the girl who checked over my tint job because I kept finding little things that she didn't but overall it was a very good experience and my car definitely felt cooler during the second half of the summer! read more

I went in to have my CR-V tinted. It cost $329 to get my windows tinted with ceramic. I thought I was getting quality work--I should have read the yelp reviews more closely. After their work, they told me there would be bubbles in the car and it would take a week (since the weather was cooler) for the bubbles to evaporated. Like expected, there were some bubbles -- a lot bigger than expected. I called them to ask them about it six days after I had my tint work done. They were pretty aggressive with me, bordering on rude (though not quite rude), trying to convince me that bubbles are to be expected and I shouldn't be concerned. I understand that they might get a lot of people calling saying they have bubbles and the large portion of the time, they just need to wait longer for the bubbles to go away. But there's no reason to be so aggressive and try to make the customer feel they are wrong (especially since he turned out to be right). Instead, they could say once that bubbles are to be expected but if they want to swing by Sun tint could check to see if there was anything unusual with their car. If the customer is actually wrong, the customer is the one that's wasting more of his or her time as it takes only a couple seconds for the folks at Sun Tint to check. I ended up taking it in after waiting a full 7 days and it turns out they did mess up the first time. My rating for sun tint is primarily based on that mess up. They fixed it, but I shouldn't have had to waste two phone calls and an extra trip in. My largest complaint and the reason for my rating is the fact that they should have gotten it right the first time. I got the work done at the end of Feb, and re-done two weeks into March to fix the bubbling issue. The other problem I had with them is that there were tiny bubbles (like the larger ones I had to repair) on various spots on my car. The job was shoddily done--I didn't get the impression from the results that these folks took pride in their work at all. On the upside, if I took my car back in, I would expect them to fix these smaller bubbles too. If you can afford to waste at least two trips, this is the tint place for you.
