Let me start by saying, if you've never had a colonic and this is the first place you go to, you…read morewill never ever know that other places are no where near as nice as this place! It's like going to a Burke Williams spa for colonics (aka colon hydrotherapy). More importantly, Alicia is amazing! She walks you through every step and makes you feel so relaxed that you forget there's a tube up your but flushing your toxic waste out! Honestly, I never even feel it's happening. I might feel the tiniest little sensation of pressure, but it's ZERO compared to all other colonics I've had. I've done both "open" and "closed" systems. This is a "closed" system. Honestly the "open" ones are a lot of work! And the closed ones I feel are more relaxing and personal as the practitioner will massage your belly and help you eliminate easier. But I am telling you, Alicia takes this to a whole other level! First off, she's in a gorgeous old building in downtown LA that has the type of character no new buildings have these days. 2nd, when you enter her space, it immediately feels like a spa. Calm, white, clean, serene, nice white leather furniture in the waiting area with a soothing waterfall feature right next to you. Then when you go in the bathroom there's a gown and slippers waiting for you and a basket for your clothes and even an area to hang your purse and everything you'd need to remove make up and simply put yourself in the zone. Then you go into the room and the actual table is HEATED, just like a nice spa massage table would be! It's got an infared mat under it that helps eliminate parasites if you have any (heck, I don't know about you, but I don't know if I have any up in my gutt, but if I do, I sure as heck want them out, out, out)! Then she has you lay on your side and has you help her guide the device in. Once you're situated she applies some mint essential oil to your back (I think it was mint) and then she massages your belly by hand and puts some oils on there too and may use a machine to further massage and break up anything stuck up in there. Don't forget, your colon is as long as you are tall. For me, that's almost 6 feet! That's a lot of poop it can house! Also, she will have you lay on your back for the entire session, once you've been situated and then she will massage your feet and your legs up to your ankles basically doing "acupressure" that also helps you release more. Win, win, win.............. NO ONE ELSE DOES THIS, at least not at the level she does. I was literally backed up and hadn't pooped in well over a week and just couldn't take it anymore. In the span of 2 weekends, I had 4 colonics. 2 of them with Alicia (she has Sunday appts, which no one else does) and 1 in Burbank and 1 in Midwilshire. Honestly, I've been getting colonics sporadically for over 10 years both in Chicago and LA and have gone to at least 10 different places and this is the Ferrari of colon hydrotherapy. If you can afford to stick with Alicia you won't be sorry. Her pricepoint is right around the middle of the road, not the highest and not the lowest, but for what you're getting, THE BEST and worth every last penny. She offers add ons at the end where she can add coffee, garlic, probiotics or minerals, each for $25 I believe. And you can do up 2 at a time, but you should let her know toward the beginning of the session if you want to add on. So if you're looking for a class A act, a super nice, gentle, compassionate, understanding and extremely knowledgeable practitioner to handle your extremely intimate and vulnerable moment, Alicia is the one for you! Sure, you can search for Groupons and find other places for cheaper, but you know the saying..... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. It's like going to a $25/hr massage shop that only has curtains separating the beds vs going to Burke Williams and being treated like a princess (or prince). :) I highly recommend Essential Blu and Alicia. Btw, on Sundays, you can park in the lot directly across the street (the first entrance on the right - not the 2nd one) and it will be a flat $6 rate to park, or circle the building and hope you find street parking, but give yourself some time since it's all one-way streets and if you don't find something, come back to the $6 flat rate lot and park on the 2nd floor and take the elevator back down then cross the street and go see Alicia. Just remember to ask her ahead of time what her suite number is as the doorman isn't always there on Sundays. :)

Alicia is wonderful and set me at ease the minute I walked in the door. She is really personable, informative and passionate about what she does. I highly recommend coming to see her.

But I want to leave an honest review so that Soya can improve and give transparency to those who may visit in the future. I get massages a LOT, so I have a lot of experiences to compare this to. I tried this place as it was convenient. The establishment was warm, I appreciate the AC was turned on once my session began, but it was still very warm and only cooled down a bit. The massage was not good. I was fully clothed (they provided an outfit) and the masseuse just rubbed, squeezed and pressed onto my body, there were no true techniques used to massage knots or even in a therapeutic or relaxing way. It was not what I expected, usually I have a bare back when I get massages. I don't think the gentleman massaging me is trained. It kind of felt like one of those half-effort quick shoulder squeezes my fiancé gives me while I'm sitting on at my computer and he's checking in on me. If you're looking to just lay there and kind of zone out, this might be the place for you. Maybe. But if you're looking for an effective and solid / real massage, I do not recommend.

ALL THE ONE STAR REVIEWS ARE VERY ACCURATE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY HERE!…read more The one thing that all the one star reviews have in common is that the therapist do not show up at the time or at all. This happened to me where I waited in the lobby for 20 minutes trying to get a hold of front desk (which they don't have). The staff at the hotel let me know that this happens often and there wasn't anything they could do. I gave up waiting and went back home. 3 hours past my originally appointment, they texted to reschedule. I rescheduled deep tissue massage the same day and confirmed with them the time. I go there for the second time and to your guess no one is there AGAIN. James was my massage therapist and I started to raise concerns of James qualification as a licensed massage therapist. I've had many massages and the way he undraped me was very inappropriate. It already made me feel uncomfortable. Not to mentioned, he left a bruise on my back the following day! My friends are massage therapist and they said the muscle he was working which is where the bruise is located- is a tender spot. You are NOT suppose apply a lot of pressure in that area. I also asked him to perform a different method because all of his moves were just the same repeated simple movements and he proceed to the same simple movements any average joe could have done. In another instance, he used all his body weight towards my body that was way too close to my bottom rib. I honestly think I was going to go home with broken ribs..I was really confused what kind of massage I was getting.. This isn't the WWE?! I didn't find the massage to have any technicality to it just the same o' movements. I was in touch with Eva, who seems to be the owner of Faris, and told her my experience at her spa. I mean the lack. of. customer. service. wow. She tried to argue that the bruise is not from the massage. Nothing was resolved in our conversation. I would NEVER recommend a spa like Frais.. not even to my enemies.. Save your time and money, folks. There are a lot more spas in DTLA and Ktown worth your while.
