We were lucky enough to receive VIP tickets to this event, so thank you to Sun King! We arrived a little after 7 and it was pretty crowded. I read on the blog that you could bring chairs, but wasn't sure how that would really work so we skipped it. Turns out there was a large rectangular area in the middle of the main space that was made into makeshift audience-type seating. Being able bodied, we opted to stand up in front of the stage when we listened to the bands. But first, we did a lap to figure out what was going on. They had a few tents sellings chips and popcorn, a yelp tent giving out silly hats (hi Jack and Lauren!), swag tents, and of course beer tents. I know it makes more sense this way, but it's kind of annoying that the tents have different beers. There were cans and draft depending on where you would go. Sours and kings reserve, the hallmark three obviously, and then inside there were a few more popular ones. GFJ was easy to find tho, so I can't fault anyone there. The VIP area was basically just an opportunity to go inside where it was air conditioned a little more quiet. We also got one drink ticket along with our VIP so that was really nice. I didn't realize that was a perk of VIP until I read other reviews. But, there was really nothing else in the VIP that isn't normally inside.
We caught the tail end of a girl lead band and then stayed for Parker Millsap who was really great. We didn't eat any of the food truck food because we took advantage of being downtown and went to Mass Ave. All in all a good event. read more
