Wonderful staff. Got my mom in quick when she had a lesion I was concerned about. Took care of it quickly- the same day! This will be my first choice for my family's needs in the future. Beautiful office and everyone was so friendly.

GOOD FAITH PUBLIC POST:…read more Great doctors and great staff -- everyone here works hard and treats patients with genuine care. I have a great deal of respect for the physicians and staff who dedicate themselves to patient care. Educate yourselves -- YOU are YOUR best advocate! During my own training experience at this facility, I personally observed certain delegations that seemed inconsistent with Florida's defined scope of practice for medical assistants (MAs). Ask , verify for yourself: 1: Can a medical assistant (MA) in Florida legally use a surgical cautery tool within the scope of an MA's practice? If not, why? 2: Can a medical assistant (MA) in Florida legally give lidocaine injections or other anesthetic infiltration within the scope of an MA's practice? If not, why? Under Florida Statute 458.3485, MAs are limited to duties such as taking vital signs, collecting routine specimens, administering non-anesthetic injections under supervision, applying dressings, removing sutures, performing routine tests, and assisting with patient education. They cannot perform anesthetic injections, operate surgical tools, diagnose, or prescribe. Performing tasks outside these duties without a license violates Florida Statute 458.327, and delegation beyond the MA's legal scope violates 458.347 and 458.348. Physician supervision cannot override the law. For verification, you can also verify by visiting the Florida official sites below: * The official Florida Statutes (Online Sunshine website) * The Florida Board of Medicine's "Delegation to Medical Assistants" page (floridashealth.gov) * Public sources or AI tools like Google, ChatGPT, or Perplexity This post is for public information and patient safety awareness only. I am not trying to disparage anyone or the facility -- my goal is to promote lawful, safe, and transparent medical practice. Always verify who is performing your medical procedures -- it's your right as a patient.

I waited almost 2 hours past my appointment time! When I asked to reschedule, there was no apology…read moreor explanation as to why everyone in the waiting room (twice) was seen and I still had not been called back. I love Dr Kovaleski but he is no longer seeing patients, so I will go elsewhere.

This office will deliberately stall prescription refills to force unnecessary follow up…read moreappointments. After calling 5+ times over the span of 2 weeks, told the prescription was being worked on each time, I was chastised by the nurse for missing a 6 month follow up appointment for which no reminder was sent, and when confronted for her unprofessional tone, she proceeded to hang up immediately. Like the very second her tone was returned to her, 'click.' Super unprofessional and frankly unhippocratic to gatekeep prescriptions for monetary gain BEYOND the hundreds paid hitherto. The medicine in question? Finasteride for hairline preservation, which is available by mail and advertised everywhere now. It would be different if this were for cancer treatment! Advice to the office: pick your battles and be content with the revenue collected thus far without pushing your luck- too far to avoid a scathing review in this case.

Tried to change and appointment (surgery - syst removal). The people handling regular appointments…read morewere not capable to access the surgery appointment schedule. A nurse had to be contacted for the rescheduling. Of course, the nurse was not available so I was told I would get a call back. Two days later no call. Tried again and went through the same BS. Finally called and told the regular appointment scheduler to relay to "the nurse" to cancel the appointment. Other problems with this dermatology office are they have "forgotten" to get back with biopsy results and in one occasion they did get back but 10 months after the fact. Unfortunately, the result required further surgery. Luckily this surgery cleared the cancerous area but what if the cancer had spread. I now will find another dermatology office other than Dermatology Specialists of Florida. They are too big and lack attention to detail.
