Last week I backed my car into my half open garage while rushing my kid to school. The two wheels came off the bottom of the track, I dented the bottom panel of the door pretty badly and then the motor broke on the garage door opener. I went straight to yelp and started calling the garage door companies listed from the top with the most reviews and many of them were not able to come out right away and to be honest a few did not sound like professional legit companies, so down the list I found Summit Garage Repair and I feel so lucky that the other companies were not able to come sooner because Eli from Summit Garage Repair came out within a few hours and fixed the dent on the door which might have needed replacement but he was able to push and fix the dent and set the wheels on the track again. Looks perfect again! When he arrived and saw that I tried to unscrew the plate near the bottom of the door, he said I was very lucky that my door had a security bolt holding down the plate because it could've flung out and cut my face open if that security bolt was not in place because the tension from the cable would have forced the plate to fly out. Please DON'T try to fix the door yourself and call Eli! He came back the next morning to install the new garage openers. Eli took his time to make sure everything was done correctly, and he values your opinion and choices. He has been fixing and repairing garage doors for 10+ years and very knowledgeable about everything down to the screws. They do not charge by the hour, and very fairly priced. Our garage door got jammed when a hanging cord got stuck in the track. The cable came off the track on one side and the door could not be closed using the motor and it took three adults to even force it closed manually because the door was so cattywampus. Eli from Summit called us within hours on a Sunday. He said he would be in the area and could try to swing by to give us a quote. We missed his call when it came, but even after he went to attend to another job and finished it, he then tried calling us again at about 9 PM, saying that he was still in the area and still willing to swing by to have a look and give us a quote. We were still up, so we said sure. He came right over and had a look. He gave us a few options for repairs, and said he could get things done in twenty minutes if we wanted to go right ahead. We'd feared that we would have to replace the system, so we were delighted. We felt bad for keeping him so late at night, but he insisted that it was fine and got right to work. He got the garage door moving again, gave us advice on further fixes we needed to make, oiled up all the tracks, and was very diligent in making sure that we understand what we should do to avoid trouble in the future. When my garage door broke, it was a real hindrance since I use it as a front door. The person I talked to at Summit told me it sounded like the spring needed to be replaced. The service was professional and efficient. I originally contracted the Home Depot default installer to install a new garage door opener. The installer told me that I needed a spring for $280, I told him I need to look into it. He told me that if I install it that day he'll give me $40 discount. But because I decided to think about it and reschedule for another day, he won't give me discount. What a jerk! I promptly went to Home Depot and cancel the installation and researched other garage door companies. Summit has the best price and great Yelp reviews. Jon showed up on-time, sized up the spring tension that is needed (unlike that guy just pull up a random spring), replaced the rollers and I didn't even need to replace the garage door opener (I returned it to Home Depot). My garage door's springs broke last night. I called Summit Garage Door Repair late in evening after business hours. The office and owner immediately responded and arranged for a technician visit this morning. The technician Danny examined the door and proposed a reasonable quote for replacement of the springs and labour including lubrication and maintenance of the door. The springs seemed a bit expensive but he has said the new springs would last 15000 cycles compared to 10000 cycles on the old ones. He also gives a 5 year warranty on the springs and expects it will last much longer (10-15 years). Danny replaced the springs, and also replaced the cables without additional charge. He also fixed a couple of disconnected rollers and tightened loose sections of the door and lubricated the entire system. Eli at Summit Garage Door Repair just saved the day! When I forgot the hatch on my car was open and drove into the garage, the hatch door bent the heck out of the bottom of the garage door, dislodging the bottom set of wheels from the tracks. I called Summit around 6:30 PM, and Eli said he could come over after helping another customer. Even though it was late, around 9:30 PM, Eli came over and fixed my garage door. I thought for sure I'd have to replace the door, but he fixed everything (and he fixed it quickly), so I can keep using my 40-ish year old garage door! I'm so happy. Garage door was broken on Friday, called several companies around the Puget sound area, Summit was the only one could come on Saturday(the next day) and offered free estimation. Johnathon arrived on Saturday morning, gave the estimation and I accepted the offer because of reasonable price and most importantly his professionalism. He did a great job, replaced spring, struct and cables, everything is working so well now. They provide warranty too! Worth to say, I asked if I need to replace 2 springs instead of 1, which I thought might be better. From the time that they called back to the time they arrived, they were very concerned with our schedule. My case was a little different. Having a house that is only 3 years old and a garage door that is only 3 years old, you would not think you would have any issues. They found that the spring had broke, the cables were twisted at install and that the drums were wearing irregularly. They communicated very well in what they were doing and what it was going to need. Pricing was upfront and fair.
