I have been taking my animals to summit for 20 or more years. Yes I recommend the clinic. The original owner's daughter works there and the doctors that are there are excellent. I think they are very caring and like family to us. We

I love love love Summit. Dr. Katie and Dr. Tyler are very skilled and thoughtful vets. They are compassionate and always give lots of options. I feel empowered to make the right decisions for my pet's health with their guidance. There's been many occasions where they could have upsold me or pressured me into more and tests as I have one veryyyyy old dog Zelda and one kinda old neurotic dog Argo, but they never have. When I first brought Zelda to Dr. Tyler Vance it was during COVID and she was having heart problems and I thought I was going to need to put her down. Dr. Vance fine tuned her medications (she's on like 6) but once we got her pain and fluid balance issues dialed in my dog is doing really great and she's 17. I got several more great years with my dog due to this clinic. The vets always answer all my questions and are very through. Now onto the other great part, the office staff here is wonderful! I've never had a vet before with great office staff AND great doctors. This is very hard to find. You can text message or email in medication refill requests and they will text you back to let you know it's ready! How easy and wonderful is that?! One time Zelda had a suspected UTI and I think it was Kelsey who walked up and down the street with us and Zelda and managed to catch her urine in a little tray when she squatted. I felt that was above and beyond. That's the level of dedication the staff has. Lastly, and what prompted me to make sure I wrote another review for this place is we went on a family vacation recently and had to bring our dogs with us last minute. We brought some dog antianxiety medicine but not nearly enough. When we got to the vacation house Argo wouldn't stop howling and panting and it was a nightmare. I called Summit and within 2 hours they got medication approved and sent into a local pharmacy for my dog. Wow they saved my entire vacation. Thank you Summit!!!!!!!!!

This place has been wonderful every time I bring my dog here. He gets pretty nervous so they're always very reassuring and even nice enough to hold the door open so I can physically carry that 60lb tan sack of scared vizsla in there. I'm really hoping once the mask mandate ends this place allows customers and employees the freedom to do as they chose as well as allow me to walk inside with my dog for appointments and shake the hand of the vet that seems to care so much. As a Texan, those kinda manners are important to me and especially when dealing with something I love so dearly.

    Dr Vance is really great.

We came to Summit Animal Hospital (SAH) at the recommendation of one of our neighbors. With our last dog/family member we went to the local big box pet store/pet clinic. It didn't fit our needs and we searched for a new place for our new pup. SAH is a small group veterinary practice at the top of Prune Hill in Camas next to the Shell station. We saw Dr Vance for our first pup check up. Dr Vance was great answering all of our questions. We had a few questions as it was a few years since our last puppy. She was great examining our pup and agreed to let me post her pic on Yelp. It was a great first visit for our pup and us. We look forward to receiving her ongoing care here. It's the best vet experience we have had in Camas and highly recommended for those who have four legged family members. Check it out.

I can't speak highly enough about Summit! Our poor cat Beastie was having some issues with his teeth and eating. After taking him in for a check-up, we found he had a few teeth that needed to be removed. Because he is an old dude, it was recommended that we also get some blood work done to make sure that was all that was needed. Thankfully, it was. They have a wonderful social distancing set up out front where you roll up and they take your fur baby from you and then deliver him/her back when done. We dropped him off at 7:45 and he was ready to go home at 3 the same day. Reasonably priced and super friendly service. Much appreciated during such a funky time. Note to some: Summit does not offer overnight care/kenneling so if you need something that may need a longer stay, they have another hospital they work with. 5 big bright stars!

    So happy!

Orchard Hills Animal Hospital is hands down the best veterinary care we've experienced. We've been loyal clients for 2-3 years with our 2 dogs and 4 cats, and I can't imagine trusting anyone else with our fur family. First Impressions Matter The moment you walk into their newer facility, you feel it - the clean, well-maintained space tells you immediately that your pets are in professional hands. It's the kind of environment that puts both you and your animals at ease. They Stand Behind Their Work What truly sets them apart is their integrity when complications arise. When Pitou developed facial swelling after a dental procedure, they didn't make excuses. They brought her back in, performed the necessary follow-up work, and covered the entire cost. That's accountability you can trust. Exceptional Care for Anxious Pets Our cat Boxi is a former feral with severe anxiety, and the team has been incredible with her. Once I communicated her needs clearly, they stepped up in every way: calming spray in the exam room, pre-appointment calming meds, and soft blankets to help her feel safe during procedures. My advice: if your pet has special needs, speak up and ask. They have the tools and compassion to help, but clear communication makes all the difference. Real Talk No vet is perfect 100% of the time - that's just reality. What matters is how they respond when things don't go as planned. Orchard Hills Animal Hospital takes responsibility, makes it right, and treats your pets with genuine care. The doctors and technicians here are skilled, compassionate, and committed to doing right by your animals. They're our forever vet, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Over the years, I have had many experiences with them. The first time I had to have a pet put to sleep was in 2013 and it was the hardest thing I have ever been a part of. The doctor was so kind. She gave me time and explained everything. I was a mess but she was calm and caring and made the experience as easy as was possible. When the groomer cut another dog's eyelid, I called them and they were able to get him in right away and close the wound. They are not an emergency room so I knew it was a long shot to get him in but it turned out that I called at just the right time and they were able to see him, if I could get their right away. Several years later, that same dog was attacked by a hawk. I called again but this time they were unable to see him so they referred me to the nearest emergency vet, saying they would see to his follow-up care. I was treated with kindness and compassion at a time when i was in a panic and not at my best. And, yes, I am often placed on hold when I call for appointments. They are busy and they are busy because they are good. When you are there with your pet, you have their full attention. They do not rush you and they listen to all of your concerns. They genuinely care about you and your pet. I will gladly wait on hold to schedule an appointment or for any other reason, knowing that someone else is receiving that same care and compassion. I moved to the Kelso area about six years ago but I still bring my pets to Camas Washougal Animal Hospital. I trust them completely with the care of my loved ones. I did try to find a new vet who was closer but I was not successful. At one vet, I was not allowed to go back to the room with my dog. That is unacceptable. At another, I was charged $250 to have a blood test sent to the lab and had to wait a week for the results. Camas Washougal has their own lab. I also appreciate the fact that their services are affordable. They are not in it for the money. They truly care about the animals they see. As long as Camas Washougal Animal Hospital is around, I will go nowhere else for my pets' care.

She offered discounts along with an assigned team for another chance, so I decided to give them a real challenge with my other SR kitty, Amber, who has high anxiety and is quite fearful of vet visits. Amber was treated with compassion, great patience, and gentleness to arrive at a surprisingly calm examination without being removed from her carrier. She was completely put at ease and submitted quietly. The team was diligent and kind with their questions without trying to upsell additional services, only giving me what I asked to be done. So refreshing... I was not shuffled to a different room, nor made to feel like it was a conveyor belt process. Amber was so at ease, it seemed like she was a total different cat. Both vet techs were awesome...they gave Amber LOTS of love, head scratches and cuddles. I was so pleased with the outcome that I had to come back and do another review. Amber's next appointment is in February for a dental cleaning. The invoice had a couple of courtesy discounts applied (true to Tracy's promise) that made the experience all the better. I'm happy with the outcome, and will definitely use East Padden again. Thanks to the entire team for making my Amber have a less stressful vet experience, and treating me better in the process!!

A Rollercoaster Experience at Hearthwood Veterinary Hospital: Good to BAD to LOL…read more Strap in, folks, because this ride at Hearthwood Veterinary Hospital is all about highs and lows, with a heavy dose of mystery. My debut was good Dr. Dena Baumgartner, (picture shown on their website below), savvy vet tech (picture not shown), and the vibe that my furball and my wallet were in good hands. But hold onto your hats, because round two veers into the twilight zone. The plot thickens with their photo policy - so cloaked in mystery it could star in its own detective novel. I wanted to document my pet's first happy vet visit. If Hearthwood was a book, it'd be titled 'Why We Hide.' Auditing seems overdue, doesn't it? Then there's the 'VIP (Very Isolated Pets)' treatment - pets and owners parting ways for procedures, waving more red flags than a matador. Me and my sidekick? We don't play that game. We took our paws elsewhere after a peek behind the curtain revealed too many unanswered questions. They wanted to separate me from my pet for a simple booster shot. I thought that was odd since we were already in a private room and they were holding the shot in their hand. Wouldn't you think that was odd? Don't even get me started on time - or the lack thereof. This tech (see picture below) is 45 minutes late for the appointment. As you can see, she is less 'fashionably late.' It's not just about the wait; it's the principle. Most people count that as a "no show" at 20 minutes? Where do you draw the line? 15, 30 min? If it was the other way around they would easily charge me a "no show" fee. They also charged me wellness exam fee of some $60 which I did not authorize nor was I advised that a exam was being conducted. Bottom line: If you're shopping for a vet where secrets don't shadow simple check-ups and respect for your time is a given, let my story be your compass. It's time to vote with our feet, because the path to change is paved with our choices. In America, we vote with our dollar. And people like this business need to respect that. I hope people who read this review note that I was not offered an apology or a refund. Transparency, accountability, and punctuality aren't just nice-to-haves; they're must-haves. Especially since you offer $250 vet checks when they're adopted from HSSW Animal Shelter. These dogs are traumatized from being there and then their new home, especially German Shepherds. My 20 month old little girl, had been through a lot and I was working diligently to get her acclimated and trained. I even had one-on-one training sessions with a professional trainer. The visit to this clinic was a nightmare from the start, I asked for a side entrance because of her high prey drive and distain of other dogs, I was told they didn't have one. Instead I was escorted into the lobby, then a very tiny exam room, it was just horrible, as we were seated the vet enters and she is standing just a couple feet from us, my dogs body language was escalating, then she tried to approach, clearly not reading my dogs warning, my dog growled and was lunging toward her. She decided to get someone to assist her, I asked if she wanted me to muzzle her and she agreed. Upon her return w/o assistant, my girl was very nervous and anxious. The vet said I should wait in the lobby and she'd take her as she might do better without my presence, which I agreed. But then she reached over the dogs head for the leash, as I tried to get up, Suki muzzle punched her in the hip, everything thus far had been done wrong. From lobby to tiny room, us seated, vet standing, it was a nightmare. After just a few minutes an assistant approached and said, they would have to sedate her to treat her ear infection $400 And asked why? Shed just had them cleaned and treated for yeast at the shelter before I'd officially adopted her, and without incident, other than nonstop barking through the exam and treatment. But they insisted she needed to be fully under. After I picked her up the next day, I was given horrible advice from this unqualified to treat GSD's as she absolutely nothing about the breed. She told me to get a harness to restrain her. Anyone who knows the breed knows that a harness only allows them to pull more. She also told me that she needs to be on meds and to see a behavioralist so they could diagnose her and she could then write the prescription. I am on a fixed income and do not have that kind of money. Then she told me that if I didn't get her on meds, she could attack someone and likely turn on me, maybe not now but within 2 years. I was extremely distraught and upset when I left. First of all I know my dog, she doesn't! Besides the fact that I TOLD them of her issues before I made the appt. But no one listened to me and no concessions were made at all for her visit. It is my recommendation that your clinic listens to the client. And put a fear aggressive dog with a skilled Veterinarian that is familiar with the breed and their behaviors. She absolutely was not! Bottomline: -LISTEN to the dogs owner -Match dog to the Vet most qualified to handle. -Don't offer up information about a dog that you know nothing about. Especially when you created the entire ordeal in the first place. I'm sorry for the bad review but the advice I was given was completely wrong and had she known the behaviors of the breed she wouldn't have suggested the things she did! It was careless and irresponsible. My dog used to want to eat my cat, but with 4 months of hard work, gentle introductions my study of the breed, here we are today!
