Down in the now trendy and upgraded basement of Sten og Strøm you find many excellent concept stores and among them, Summerbird. I bicycled down as fast as I could due to the liquorice chocolate "flødeboller" that my friend told me were utterly a food orgasm. He had them all at once and could not stop talking about them. Ok, they are really good- I mean it is liquorice!! The shop brags about being organic which I do not care about but it is a cute shop with lots of goodies and the shop assistant was very nice. Only minus is of course the price. It always is I guess. read more

Freia is the chocolate brand of Norway and they indeed make delicious treats. Be sure to get a…read morecandy bar or two and also a bag of the M&M-like chocolates in those dispensers. The staff here was very friendly and this part of town was very nice to stroll around. I'd definitely come back should I ever be back in Oslo!
