Room 405 had both positives and a few negatives but we would stay in it again. First, it is huge with a lovely jacuzzi tub and a wall of windows. Its location on the top floor made for easy access to the rooftop terrace for those chill times between adventures. The views from the terrace are incredible! Wi-if access was reliable. One possible downside if you are not early risers is that the restaurant area where a terrific breakfast buffet is served from 8-10:30 daily is right outside the door. This did not bother us. All of the hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant, eager to assist with baggage, recommendations, reservations, and bookings. The neighborhood in which the hotel is located is chock full of restaurant and shopping options and a five-minute walk to the nearby Sultanahmet tram stop. Follow the tram line by foot for 15 minutes and you'll arrive at Eminönü where you can check out the spice market or hop on a ferry to Kadiköy (Asia side). All in all, we had a wonderful stay in Istanbul and feel we made a great hotel choice.

This tiny (26 rooms I think) is a remodeled old Ottoman mansion. It does have a tiny elevator and a fairly tight staircase (I hit my head once on the low ceiling) but has so much going for it. First off the staff was consistently excellent. Gave us a rundown of the area and we were off to our room. The room, we had booked a "deluxe balcony room" was small but serviceable and well appointed. The bathroom was well done in marble was behind a large frosted glass wall. The bed was comfortable. and the balcony with two chairs and a table was spectacular. We could look directly at the Hagia Sofia in all its glory. It is in easy walking distance of everything in Sultanament and there is even a tram station close by. In addition its prices were in line with just about everything else in the area. We will 100% book this hotel again

This hotel was a nightmare from start to finish, and I honestly cannot believe it's allowed to operate under the Ritz-Carlton name. My wife got food poisoning after eating at one of their restaurants, and we are certain it was from the hotel's food. She became extremely sick--violently ill, and we were left to deal with everything on our own. We informed the staff and management right away, expecting immediate help or at least concern. But what we got was total silence. No help, no refund, no support--nothing. They acted like it wasn't their problem. They showed zero care for my wife's suffering. This wasn't just bad service--it was inhumane. If that wasn't enough, the hotel was blasting loud music for two night. Four nights of torture. We couldn't sleep, and we complained again and again to different managers. And just like with everything else, they did absolutely nothing. They gave empty promises, fake apologies, and then disappeared. No solutions. No respect. No decency. The management is a disgrace--unprofessional, disconnected, and clearly not trained to handle basic guest needs, let alone a serious health emergency. We felt completely abandoned. This place is not safe. They are charging premium prices while offering some of the worst hospitality I've ever seen. This hotel should not just be avoided--it should be reported to the city of Istanbul and health authorities. They are putting people's health at risk. Their food made my wife sick, their environment made our stay unbearable, and their complete lack of accountability made everything worse. We will be contacting Ritz-Carlton corporate and local safety regulators in Istanbul. This is not just about a bad stay--this is about guest safety, human decency, and basic responsibility. Shame on Ritz-Carlton Istanbul. You stole our time, our money, and my wife's health. You ruined what was supposed to be a special vacation and turned it into a painful memory we'll never forget. We were traveling with a family of four and a family of three, and had reserved appropriately sized rooms. Instead, we were given tiny, cramped rooms that barely fit two people. Yet the hotel still charged us extra for the additional guests--with zero regard for the fact that the rooms were completely inadequate. Even worse, the rooms--and the hallways--were filled with a strong, nauseating smell of cigarette smoke. The rooms were supposedly non-smoking, but it was clear that nothing had been done to enforce or maintain that standard. If we had stayed longer, our young daughter would have gotten sick from the constant exposure to the smoke. It was that bad. The management was nowhere to be found, and the staff showed absolutely no concern or effort to fix anything. Every complaint was met with cold indifference. Not only were we forced to leave the hotel due to the conditions, but we are still fighting with the hotel to receive a refund for the remaining nights they failed to deliver on. This hotel is a disgrace to the Marriott name. It is run with no care for the guest experience, no attention to cleanliness or comfort, and absolutely no accountability. If you care about your health, your comfort, and your money--avoid this hotel at all costs. There are far better options in Istanbul. This was the worst hotel experience we've ever had.

It's a fairly walkable area, but it's at the very top of a few hills, so just make sure you're prepared to walk. Once inside the beauty of it and service is just top tier. The rooftop restaurant Spago is amazing, along with the service. The Brassiere downstairs is also great. The rooms are very largely sized, but a few downsides... The shower head is a rainfall head, but the shower itself is so small you're stuck under it and sort of constricted in your movement. It's hard to wash yourself like that, and the bathroom and closet are so big, as is the room that they could've made the shower a bit bigger for sure. The TV in the bathroom also was basically useless, it did not work at all. There's also a few details here and there overlooked (dings, scratches, wood not finished to 100%) but nothing enough for me to really complain about to the hotel directly. I would stay here again if I go back to Istanbul at any point in time, but I would probably break my trip up where half of it is here and the other half at the Four Seasons Bosphorus, not the Sultanahmet one.

We contacted concierge to organize for us a private transfer to and from the hotel and it is so worth it. You get priority access to the airport at customers, security and transfer all the way to the gate. I definitely recommend using that service. It creates such a hassle free experience. The check in process at the hotel was swift and everyone there is so helpful. The rooms were amazing, super spacious and clean and very nice. We ate at Rocca which was delicious, had a drink at the Long Bar which had amazing cocktails and had High Tea at the Lounge 6 in the lobby. All were very good, and definitely recommend. I wish we had time to try out the last restaurant they had there. With the hotel being attached to the Zorlu Center, it's definitely convenient for food and shopping as well. I definitely recommend checking out this hotel when you are in Istanbul, and I look forward to our return if we ever make it back to Istanbul!
