Upon entry I was asked if I had been there and the answer was yes and the employee assured me a lot had changed and I told him I hoped so because I don't recall it being good. -Cupcakes- Today they had a special royal wedding flavor, the lemon markle. Lemon cake, with lemon curd filling and an elderflower buttercream frosting. Apparently this was the exact recipe that the royal wedding served to its guests today. I thought that was pretty cool and tasted awesome! I visited Sugarfoot's on Thursday for the first time to pick up cupcakes for my coworker's birthday. I love this place! The shop itself is super cute. Everyone at work LOVED the cupcakes, too. In additional to traditional cupcakes, they offer gluten free, vegan and keto cupcakes. Wow!!! That is really hard to find. I can't have gluten so I tried the Keto cupcake. Holy moly, was that amazing! Very flavorful. They perfected that recipe. I couldn't tell that it wasn't made with your typical cupcake ingredients, either. Sugarfoot's is my new go-to cupcake spot. I have always ordered birthday cakes at Wal-mart. I wanted to try something different so I got a specialty cake that cost me $65.00. The cake was beautiful on the outside but the cake was horrible! It was supposed to be vanilla cake but it tasted like fruit cake. It was not light and moist but dense and dry. I spent twice the money for a horrible cake. I stopped by Sugarfoot's to check out if they could do a cake for my mother's birthday. Obviously, I wanted a specific design for her special day. Lexi helped me pick out the right flavors for her cake and made sure the cake would get delivered on time. I have never been so excited for a cake to get delivered, to see if my mom would love it! I ordered a custom number cake online and was told it would have fresh edible flowers, macarons, and a variety of fruit what I got was nothing like the picture or the description. The cake I received was incredibly dry with slathered frosting that was tasteless. The flowers that I was told were real, when I called and when I picked up the cake were cheap plastic, dollar store flowers that honestly ruined the whole cakes design. The macarons were incredibly bitter and squashed. The variety of fruit was two pieces of strawberry that were old, bruised, and sour. Just A MESS For my child's birthday, I ordered a Cupcake Cake (rainbow). I had my brother pick up the cake the day before the event and the day of the event went to cut the cake, I sat there looking confused. I ordered chocolate flavor and was not given chocolate. Everyone that had a slice, didn't finish their slice because it was disgusting. They are closed Sunday and Monday so I ended up calling on Thursday. I explained that I was given a cake with the wrong flavor and was told that apparently they didn't have chocolate the morning it was made. So I responded that it would've been nice to have been told that. The excuse was, "well your order was placed less than 48 hours". Um okay well someone should've reached out to me and explained that because it was placed less than 48 hours, I may not receive the product I requested. Their response- "well we have been extremely busy" Is that my problem?! So after a few minutes of discussing the problem, I was offered a 25 dollar store credit. The cake was 55, not eaten, because throughout the whole discussion, my mother threw the cake in the trash( no one was eating it). So I made a suggestion for another cake to be baked the way I asked for it. Their response "well we will talk to the baker and see if it can fit on the schedule, the baker should be giving you a call back". So I responded "I will be expecting a call and if not I will show up the next morning in person". The phone call ended. I sat there thinking and reading reviews about this company. So i decided why wait, printed out a conversation that someone else posted between them and the company and drove to the store. I walked in and was greeted by a young man who had no idea what I was talking about when I bought up the conversation not even an hour beforehand. Another young man, then emerged from the back and said that he was the one I spoke to. I once again said I do not want a 25 dollar store credit. He mentioned that I could speak to the baker and I replied that from a review that was left it seems as though the baker is rude so I didn't want to speak to the baker. Later on in the conversation it came out that THE BAKER IS THE OWNER!!!! So I expressed interest in talking to the baker if the OWNER is messing up people's order without so much as contacting the customers. Once again they said that they have been extremely busy. I responded "If you are that busy, it would be a good idea to lessen your load, especially if you're messing up orders". He replied, "well we have." So you lessen your orders and are still messing up orders. I told him I will be writing a review, and his nonchalant reply "well out of 500 we only have like 20 bad reviews." So yes I am here writing this review because apparently to this business as long as they get a few orders correct, it doesn't matter if they get a few wrong. You the customer, will receive the runaround, excuses and a subtle way of making the problem seem as though it is your fault! You are not going to get a refund, just an offer for in store credit!! Also the driest cake ever!! I should have gone with the other business that actually reached out when I expressed interest in one of their designs. When I mentioned this in the conversation, their response' Well they probably aren't as busy as we are". JUST A MESS!!! Only nice thing is the young men were at least respectable in their responses. Favorite bakery in the Spring area. We tried this place when they first opened and loved them. I was nervous that they wouldn't stay around long, considering the location, but I was proved wrong...and thankfully! We have love this place for years. We order birthday stuff from here, fun treats, random cupcake stops, etc. they deliver, too!! The owners are local to the immediate community, which makes me want to shop there even more. Yummers! My boss bought a dozen of different flavors for everyone at work. The small shop was really cute, and the cupcakes looked delicious. I tried the strawberry and the tres leches. Both flavors that I tried were tasty. A nice amount of moist and the buttercream frosting wasn't overpowering with sugar or tough, it was sweet and smooth. The trees leches was my favorite of the two, but they were both good. All the other coworkers liked theirs as well, my boss was the only one who said she wasn't wowed by the red velvet cupcake. One thing to keep in mind is that my boss usually only eats red velvet cake, so she has high expectations. I'd recommend ordering cupcakes here for sure! The lady baker who worked there was thoughtful and helpful. Lucky for me it's in between home and work. read more
