Tried a different location this time and ordered all of the sashimi, including the ankimo for the first time. I ordered it without even knowing what it was. It was definitely interesting... odd and unexpected, but fun to try something new. Everything else was super yummy as usual, and the Dangerous Grab hand roll is always a reliable favorite. Service from our waitress was fine, nothing remarkable, and the ambiance is the same as other locations: dim, calm, and minimalist. Overall, a solid Sugarfish visit!

Service was very friendly we were able to just walk in with it reservation for an early dinner. Other than the fighting couple beside us, we enjoyed the ambiance. We shared the Nozawa Trust Me and that was plenty for 2 people to share without leaving extremely full. My favorite pieces were the yellowtail, toro hand roll, and the specialities bites we ordered.

My favorite sushi restaurant in New York! We went for lunch on Friday at noon and it was pretty empty which was nice because everything came out so quickly. Always get the Trust me!!

i got the trust me set and was super disappointed. i left sugarfish feeling full but the sushi was just not good... my favorite item in the entire set was probably the edamame which i think speaks volumes. the fish tastes rubbery and the nigiri fell apart so easily when i went to pick it up. literally the rice crumbled before my very eyes with every other dish. top it off, they don't taste apple pay which is on me for assuming. the server was nice about it and let me leave my phone behind to grab my wallet from my office but the lack of mobile pay is just really surprising for such an establishment, especially when other locations in the city do have that option. wayyy overhyped and you can get better sushi elsewhere in williamsburg

I'm mostly familiar with the sugarfishes in Los Angeles but was thrilled to be able to visit in Brooklyn. Lived up to the memory.

I used to love Sugarfish but then they raised their prices and decreased the portions and now it's more of a factory that doesn't really care about the customer experience. They have expanded and have so many locations that they are spreading themselves too thin. The fish quality is always good so three stars for a solid sushi lunch in Brooklyn with my daughter last week. It's always enjoyable to see her and she likes Sugarfish so we indulged hers

We walked in on a Friday evening and it was very busy. We put our name down and walked around the neighborhood. There is a decent amount of waiting space in the restaurant too. We ended up waiting longer than the waitress told us but were glad that we were able to sit and wait inside. The ambiance was dark and service was friendly. There were 2 restrooms and separate soaps to use before and after eating. My friend and I both ordered the Nozawa Trust Me which was the right amount of food. The quality of the fish is okay and the price is reasonsable considering it is a no tipping restaurant. Sugarfish in Williamsburg is amazing for sushi. There's an option that's like omakase, but served at your table. I'd heard about it before and should have tried it sooner. The sushi is very fresh, way above other spots in the same price range. Service was quick and friendly, and the dining environment was perfect. I absolutely cannot wait to come back

went on a Saturday evening around 7pm and barely waited 10 minutes for a table. When you are a party of two it's really easy to get seating at places that dont do reservations- especially on a rainy day! the inside is dim light and no music which is good because it allows for us to have conversations without having to scream over music and other table conversations. plus i always love a dimly lit dinner - creates a cool environment We ordered the Trust Me and Nozawa Trust Me. Everything came our super fast and well prepared. For the pricepoint the quality is very delicious - and theyre rice is super delicious. I do have to note that the rice isnt packed like normal omakase so its really easy for it to falll out. everytime i tried dipping in soy sauce i would drop a ton of rice into my soy sauce bowl BUT otherwise seriously this spot is super good to satisfy a sushi craving and not break the bank. def recommend to come for a solid sushi dinner!!

Whenever I go to LA my first dining spot is always SUGARFISH. They have unparalleled quality fish and perfectly prepared omakase bites. If you are into California rolls this place isn't for you - go outside the box and taste perfectly prepared pieces well worth the price point. They don't take reservations so I suggest going on opening or off hours.

Just stopping by to update my review! This is now the 4th time i've been to this location, and i'm SO happy that everything was as I remember and KNOW this place to be. Service was exceptional, fish was buttery melt in your mouth delicious and everything was just on point. The last time we had a little blip but everything has been resolved, thank you endlessly to the RM and the AM along with the staff for making our return so welcoming. Came to celebrate my boyfriend and couldn't have asked for a better experience and better quality fish. Can't wait to keep frequenting sugarfish as it has always been our go-to whenever we want sushi

Great addition to the area! My boyfriend and I stopped in for a speedy hand roll dinner and were able to walk in. We grabbed seats at the counter in the back and tried the blue crab hand roll, toro hand roll and scallop hand roll. The scallop was my favorite, followed by the blue crab. Toro was solid, too.

Wow. Me and my friends came here (some returning some first time) and we were all so satisfied with the quality and taste of everything. I'm very picky about raw sushi and I hate when there is even the slightest fishy taste. On their menu it states sushi should never be fishy, so I immediately knew I was going to love this place. I love this place so much that I would literally clean dishes in the back for 12 hours if they paid me in their sushi every day. Just wow. The only negative is that it's a no tip restaurant and you can tell the staff doesn't care much about you and they roll their eyes when you want to order more or need them for anything. This aspect brought the experience down a notch but I quickly forgot about it when I was eating because the food is that good. I recommend getting the Nozawa Trust Me because the cuts of fish aren't the biggest.

My husband had the kaishin don, I had the Ozakaya donburi set and our girls shared the shoyu tonkatsu ramen. The fish was so incredibly fresh here and the rice was seasoned perfectly. My donburi set also came with dashi broth that the waitress later brought over to pour on top of the leftover rice in my bowl to be enjoyed at the end of the meal. The broth and rice combination was really comforting and satisfying. This dish was something I wanted to try in Japan but did not get a chance to experience when there, so I was excited to try it at Ozakaya. I was really pleasantly surprised by the ramen here as well. Although the pork could have been better/more tender, the broth was rich and seasoned so well and not too salty like other places. Last but not least, the service here was excellent and efficient. I would definitely come back here the next time I visit Brooklyn as there were many dishes on the menu I wanted to try!

I'd still give it a solid 9/10 and would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

Lots of people came in and out for takeout orders so that seems to be more of the target audience. Service was quick and polite, we were there until 9:30 and they definitely seemed ready for us to be out of there before the 10PM closing time. As for the specialty rolls, there were some pretty creative options - don't shy away from seemingly odd combinations because the flavors really do work well together. I appreciated the rice:fish ratio on all the rolls, the rice was a thin layer letting the flavor of the other ingredients really come through. The plain spicy tuna roll on the other hand was filled with spicy tuna mixed with something crunchy - maybe puffed rice? It seemed to be an unnecessary filler, I would have preferred just fish. I enjoyed the Lovers Dream and Golden Sunset roll the most. While I was debating it while ordering, in hindsight I would definitely get two rolls per person, maybe more if you're really hungry.

I saw the strong Yelp reviews and decided to take the leap with a pickup order. We ordered two specialty rolls and a spicy tuna roll. The restaurant itself is smaller than I expected, so I'm glad we opted for takeout. The staff was super friendly, and we only waited a few minutes while they completed our order. The Mystic Dragon roll was the standout for me-absolutely delicious. It had a variety of textures that gave it a great mouthfeel. I think this was my favorite of the three. All the flavors complemented each other beautifully. The strawberry sauce was unexpected but surprisingly worked! I love unique flavor combinations, and this one did not disappoint. The Torched King roll was also excellent. Salmon is my go-to for sushi, and the light torching gave it a subtle smoky flavor that I loved. The yuzu chili sauce added a nice kick--really flavorful and well-balanced. The Spicy Tuna roll was a classic and, of course, delicious. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. I think I just found my new go-to sushi spot in the neighborhood!
